  1. "the juice wasnt worth the squeeze" - love that quote, gotta keep that in mind for future reference LOL
  2. welcome to the 5090 club bro, its about time 🙂 heard good things about the trio thus far, hope it treats you well! do tell us how its going with it. screaming for more powah 100%. what im seeing thus far is that im hitting the power limit WAY earlier than the voltage limit in most cases. one exception is Unity Enemies (UE5 tech demo), which lets the card ramp up to roughly 550W so its able to stretch its legs clockwise and holds steady around 3150 Mhz on the core at +370 (my confirmed D2D stable btw, +375 turned out to be unstable in Unity Enemies). thats why im absolutely HOPING for the XOC vbios to drop at some point. not planning to shunt mod this card. PX1 is standalone. everything i have is standalone. i dont even have a steam account 🤣 and yeah, for custom fan curves im using AB, PX1 unfortunately doesnt help there. havent tested max settings for short benches yet. gimme a list of benches ud want to see and ill check it out for you 🙂 VRAM is easy, cant go further than +3000 and its stable haha 😄 so only core left to finetune in this regard. my 4090 D2D was at +190 / +1525 so basically the same as yours. u know, funny that u mention that with the astral vbios. ive seen reports that although the astral vbios sports the same 600W limit, it somehow allows for a bit higher peak voltage and also has higher / more frequent 600+ W peaks. might be worth a try 🙂 havent checked for transients yet, those 610W peaks i mentioned before was just manual eyeballing via the Nvidia overlay during stress testing. so will need to do some more detailed monitoring with HWInfo. thats to be expected that your FE stays overall lower in voltage, with on average higher temps at load it would downclock a tad more and thus use a lower point on the V/F curve. bouncing off the 600W limit is basically all i see on my end....i guess our game library is a bit different 😄 not planning to do any undervolting, rather interested in the max stable clocks at max voltage 😛 however i WOULD be interested in a vbios with a much lower minimum power limit i could clamp down. the Suprim performance vbios only lets me go down to 67%, equivalent to 400W peak wattage. i would prefer 25-33% or equivalent to 150-200W for regular desktop use / light loads / transcoding workloads. how are those 576 drivers treating ya? havent updated yet, wanted to finish all my testing first with the same driver base. edit: good news on the ebay front, i just sold my 5x Samsung 860 Evo 4TB disks all at once to a buyer in France. total fees at 5% 🙂 pricing was also very good, managed to sell them at 90% of the price i paid for them about 5-6 years ago (new) 😄
  3. i started off with bone stock testing to get a feel of the card first, i.e. no voltage or PL adjustments whatsoever. +3000 / 34Gbps on vRAM is still stable, and i think ive hit a stability wall at +375 on the core. anything above that, i.e. +380 and the system locks up during stress tests after about 10-15 min. depending on the load and resolution im getting anywhere between 2500 and 3000+ Mhz on the core under load. max core temps always go to 68C, with fans adjusting accordingly and PL always maxed out, bouncing off the 600W limit. i sometimes see it go up to 610W or so, but the 600W limit is pretty hard nonetheless. core voltages are again dependent on the type of load, max. im seeing at idle / light loads is 1.025V with min under load around 0.950V, im guessing i got a very non-leaky silicon that has low peak voltage. ive seen other spike up to 1.09 or so. in conclusion, the 5090 is hopelessly power-starved and in desperate need of a 1kW vbios... ive got two more stability sessions to go through before i call +375/+3000 stable enough for D2D. any fine adjustments / corrections in specific games notwithstanding, that is. after that ill go through my benchmark suite once more to check and see what kinda uplifts im seeing vs. 5090 stock / 4090 OC / 4090 stock. oh btw, i HAVE heard some coil whine now! 😄 that was in titanfall 2 at 1080p and 600+ FPS 🤣 but even then its very slight, totally wouldnt hear it when gaming with headphones on. so nothing to worry about really. as for ebay, ive also been selling there for 23 years now. the experiences are pretty much the same as yours, theres always gonna be a few hiccups / idiots here and there but overall ive always come out pretty solid. the ebay fees also arent so bad, at least not here. they are dependend on where the sale goes to, i.e. national sales are free (no fees whatsoever), inside the EU there are fees but still quite low and only when i sell outside the EU the fees go up to "standard" levels, so to say. however, im fine with that, since the overall customer audience / geographical reach is just without competition.
  4. LOL great timing with me planning to put up my 4090 tomorrow 😄
  5. you were actually the one pointing me towards PX1 in the first place 😄 yeah i had tried Asus Tweak before and exactly that tacky UI scared me away 😛 but ill give it another whirl if there is any enhanced OC functionality.
  6. yep saw that drop during benching yesterday, changelog included a frigging TON of bugfixes specifically for 50 series. will update asap 🙂 some more 5090 Suprim insights: - highest core temp ive seen thus far was 68C in Alan Wake 2 pathtracing maxed out in 4K without DLSS/FG. card still super quite, insane - vRAM OC at +3000 for 34Gbps confirmed stable via GPU Memtest for 1hour. max VRam temp. 64C during stress test. - currently checking for core OC, happy to report that EVGA PX1 does not have any troubles applying +100 on the voltage slider. with AB lots of reports that the card would drop to base clocks and show funky behaviour. havent seen this with PX1, so all good. - +300 core oc looks stable thus far, but not quite done with stability testing yet, about halfway through. initial quick n dirty core oc only locked up the card once i reached +500 😄 should be interesting haha - need to do some more extensive voltage monitoring to determine typical range for my particular sample. initial impressions in alan wake 2 yesterday showed anywhere between 1.00 and 1.25V (voltage slide maxed, power pegged at 600W+). but ofc that depends on the application tested. will keep u guys posted 🙂
  7. thx bud, so far im quite happy with the card and definitely keeping it. will be putting my 4090 Suprim up for sale on fleabay soon, curious to see what kinda price i could fetch for it. still covered by warranty until / including Sep this year. with regards to "bringing it alive", i had previously mentioned that i was surprised to see Titanfall 2 making the 4090 basically scream 😄 highest power consumption ive ever seen and had to manually switch to a more aggressive fan curve to keep me 24/7 OC settings stable. now i found out why: when maxing out the graphics settings, theres also an adaptive resolution settings that targets a specific framerate you input. if it exceeds it, the resolution is upped, if it falls below, resolution is lowered. at maxed out settings, both the 4090 and 5090 are able to run the game at 100+ and sometimes 200+ fps, but the thing is: the max res. it goes to is 16k! 😄 so you basically have a combo of BOTH an insanely high rendering resolution plus high framerates! so defiitely a good use case to check for OC instabilties, coil whine and max power consumption. id highly recommend getting the game for the sake of playing it. as well, its both quite beautiful and captivating in storytelling and creative gameplay mechanics 🙂 (btw titanfall 3 rumoured!) ill check out the DX Mankind MD benchmark, sounds promising! does it come standalone or do i need to install the whole game for it? and yeah, definitely check out PX1, ill try to use it as long as possible / as long as it provides functionality on new cards. luckily, blackwell is basically just an updated ada arch, so functionality is still intact! (development was progressed to include the 4090, after which is halted). on this note @Mr. Fox since im sure u have a very comprehensive list of benchmark tools: can you recommend and standalone gpu benchmarks outside of the usual suspects? preferably with a basis in an actual game, that would be grand 🙂
  8. first impressions on running benches with the 5090 Suprim: - my system is SO insanely quiet now with the 9950X3D + 5090, both are much quieter than my previous 7950X + 4090 Suprim combo. crazy, wouldve never thought that! - absolutely zero coil whine, not even at 500+ FPS. my 4090 would have a slight coil whine during very high FPS runs (were talking 300+), but otherwise basically nothing. - EVGA PrecisionX1 still works and allows me to push the vRAM to 34 GBps (+3000 on the slider or rather +6 Gbps). i love this tool so its great to see its still functional 🙂 still have AB installed as a backup tho and for future custom fan curves. havent checked temps yet under high continuous load, the benches im currently running are too short to properly determine cooling capabilities. but judging from the noise (or lack thereof), im not really worried in that dept. 😄 so far so good!
  9. im sure you and bro @Papusan will also absolutely LOVE the RGB puke 🤣 but yes i agree, love the simple look with those elegant angles.
  10. 5090 installed and purring smooooooooooothly 🙂 first up: all ROPs present and PCIe 5.0 x16 working as intended, PHEW! dont worry about the clocks, fiddling around with powersaving profile for simple desktop usage. next up: Id never thought Id see the day where my Suprim 4090 seems SMALL, THIN AND LIGHT 😄 check out these CHONKERS! 5090 always on top I really wish they wouldve sticked with the three slot backplate... why would anyone do a dual backplate on a 4+ slot brock of a gpu?!?! 🥸 anyways, time for some stock benches to get a baseline vs. my oced 4090!
  11. This. Doesnt matter if i spend 2k or 3k for a 5090, at those price points its all the same: i better get what i actually WANT, otherwise might as well set fire to those bills and call it a day 😋😄 aight boiz, currently finishing up my last bench, then its time for the GPU transplant 😎
  12. well...depends how u define "MSRP" 😄 getting a card at the 2229€ current FE MSRP would still be very difficult. but at 2800-2900€ no issue whatsoever, so were talking roughly 25-30% above FE MSRP. i.e. comparable to 2500-2600 USD without tax.
  13. i dont get it....first @johnksss input on the dire 5090 situation in the US and now urs. prices are still dropping here in europe, ive even started seeing several shops list the Suprim at "acceptable" prices (i.e. within my preset budgeting limits). stock lasts for days, if not weeks in multiple cases. u can basically go and get a 5090 any time u want from reputable shops and even if u want a specific model ull hardly have to wait a day or two to get it in stock somewhere. why this imbalance?
  14. soooo.....whats the plan for the new budget? 😁 1-2 more days of benching and then the 5090 goes into my system 🙂
  15. from what ive seen thus far the spread of SP ratings is very tight for Ryzen CPUs, so any slight differences might not amount to much. my SP120 9950X3D seems to be not as robust in terms of RAM OC as my previous 7950X, need wayyyy more voltage to even get 7400 stable vs. the previous 7600. hoping that binning some RAM kits will do the trick though.
  16. what are your SP ratings? and what kind of temp drop did u see after delid and the TG IHS?
  17. Daddy is happy 😁 Likely will not get to install it for a few days, want to finish up some benches with the 4090 first before flashing it back to stock and taking it out. Will be sure to post size comparisons between these two bricks 😄
  18. damn thats rough! here i thought esp. the 5080 situation wouldve been cleared up by now. plus 5090s come into stock way more often and definitely way longer, at least in online shops here in europe. distributors holding back stock to figure out new tariff prices? edit: OUT FOR DELIVERY! aight, time to pack up here at work and rush home 😄
  19. issue with this being: although US tariffs dont affect us here in europe directly for products that we import, say, from asia, it would STILL suck for us! All MSRP pricing follows the standards set in the US for american made products (Nvidia, AMD, Intel, etc.). So if the US pricing goes through the roof thatll be a perfect excuse to adjust pricing here in europe as well. 15000€ RTX 6090, anyone?! 😞 on the bright side: Suprim should arrive here by tomorrow, latest on Friday! w00t w00t!
  20. oh cmon! what else do i need to check once it arrives?!?!? - correct ROP amount - PCIe speed - Power cable - Drivers - Display settings to avoid black screens (potentially disable GSync) - vRAM OC unlock for above +2000 - dont touch voltage slider in AB, otherwise stuck at idle clocks anything else?! 😄
  21. damn that sux, having such badass hardware at home but no time to use it...
  22. welp that goes for 50 series in general, of course. but funny enough, the Suprim is actually in the mid range when it comes to 5090 pricing here in europe. gigabyte and asus are leading the pack, with pny/zotac/palit/gainward the "cheap" options. total range atm without tax is roughly 2620 USD on the low end up to 3490 USD (that would be the Astral LC bro @Papusan. Average pricing is currently around 2940 USD. so basically i paid a pretty average 5090 price for the Suprim 😄 hilarious!
  23. helloooooooooooooooooooo 😎 card is at the shop, package prepared 😁 edit: aaaaaaaaand shipped! 🙂 5090 trainwreck, here i come 😄 @Papusan any specific drivers ud recommend to minimize the damage? 😛
