  1. absolute shame but in the context of nvidia behaving like that its totally understandable. id love to see AMD or even Intel gpus by EVGA in the future, would be interesting.
  2. yep classic tale of the 980M and its wimpy power delivery...im actually using a premamod vbios with an undervolt applied to the core to max 1.00V to curb the power consumption at stock and make the card last longer. not in the mood for a burned gpu...
  3. are you guys f***ing kidding meeeee!?!? there i go having dinner with my lady, watching few episodes of The Boys, followed by some glorious gaming on my brand new Odyssey Neo G8 and what do I see on youtube when sitting on the can? no more EVGA gpus from the green camp, what. the. heck. ask bro @Mr. Fox i was JUST getting ready to buy my very first EVGA gpu with the upcoming 40 series....😅 but u know something, after the first shock subsided im thinking: this might be the best time to switch camps in a looong time... RDNA3 should be as competitive as ever, why do u think Nvidia is cranking up the wattages so crazy high? no other option to stay top dog, kinda reminds me of what Intel did in recent years to stay on top of Ryzen... interesting times guys... btw, guess how fast and steeply priced those last ever EVGA gpus will be @40 series engineering samples. priceless! @electrosoftVince is the very last guy im worried about haha. any other vendors will lick their fingers to hire him. just the question if hes still in the mood after this...who knows, AMD Kingpin cards, anyone, manufactured by, say, Asus? that would be so weird haha 😋
  4. oh boy, yeah we still remember the Gecube MXM desaster cards from the NBR days... questionable QC at best. so probably not the best idea to jump on this wagon too soon. also, 850 USD sounds too good to be true...
  5. ha, just goes to show that overclocking and score chasing is also just a bit of luck of the draw. if the stars, the moon and ur hardware align u might just get those few extra points to be the record. i expect follow-ups to get that score above 14927! 😉 id say theoretically yes, every little bit of distance would help improve that thermal conductivity gradient through the applied K5 Pro layer.
  6. wth man...Nvidia doing their best to confuse their customers "oh look, that other 4080 only has 4 gigs less vRAM but so much cheaper! same card, same performance! such a DEAL!" 🤦‍♂️☠️ on the bright side, just received my Samsung Odyssey Neo G8, holy crap is that a HUGE monitor! and amazing colors and blacks, dayum... still need to do some finetuning though. plus, my laptop isnt even strong enough to drive it at 240 Hz, max i can get is 96 🤣 just a fewwww more weeks...
  7. oh gawd, MS please leave LTSC alone with all the shitty regular consumer OS crap...
  8. ha, im only reporting from laptop-land still but ive never used any xmp profiles cuz they never booted in the first place *lol* so it was always manual RAM tuning for me 😄
  9. omg such a trip down memory lane, exactly what i did with my first voodoo cards (1&2) once Unreal was out 😄
  10. ah, good ol' woodzstack, always lending a helping hand for us poor chaps looking for parts 🙂
  11. well one thing is for sure, every new windows version needs a lot of work and customization to make it run proper. so with that in mind, with a bit of patience and elbow grease u can also make win11 an every-day driver.
  12. take out the keyboard, clean all the connections on both the cable and socket sides, then reseat. maybe that helps. otherwise, as @runix18 already suggested, u might have a faulty LED cable, thus time for a new kb.
  13. huh, i had no idea sabrent also does RAM! neat 🙂 are those 4800 Mhz modules?
  14. yep, its funny how the crysis team forced the enhanced edition off the net in order to push through their own, INFERIOR remastered version 🤣 talk about misreading the room!
  15. ikr. although i dot understand the reasoning behind i.e. getting the vRAM chips closer to the main silicon to improve latencies and bandwidth. still, in such a form factor it shouldnt matter either way....compatibility is way more important!
  16. im actually rooting for him being wrong! and hes also been right a lot of times 😄
  17. ah, a man of culture, finally someone who understands me 🤣
  18. haha that is some serious throwback right there, thanks for that! 🙂 impressive work by Matrox with the drivers, looks like they managed to get them ultra stable!
  19. similar approach to @Clamibot, but i dont use soap. basically just a cloth that ive previously rinsed with warm water and wrought out so thats its just damp enough to transfer some moisture and use that to get rid of any dirt / dust / oil buildup. i generally dont recommend to use isoprop on any plastic surfaces since its known to be able and leave permanent stains (depending on the plastic).
  20. sweet find! every little bit helps, and i especially like the part where power envelope is easily unlocked for this model 🙂 ha, im guessing the vendors couldnt be bothered with increased RMA rates due to huge desktop coolers crushing the brittle silicon chips beneath their high pressure mounting systems 😄 in laptops u only have wimpy lil heatsinks that have barely enough pressure to be kept in place during transport 😅 at least we still got delidding and direct die blocks to help us out in that regard. i got my trigger finger ready... 🤠
  21. especially considering that Arc is now a dead platform....yay....but lets see, maybe theyll do a 180 and discard the X270 before it even actually releases? lulz agreed, in current times DTRs and monster desktops are absolute luxuries to be talking about or considering spending crazy amounts of money on... (says the guy getting ready to spend a buttload of greens on his new build 😅)
