currently watching the video, soooo much SCHADENFREUDE, its not even funny anymore 😛 let the vendors, shops and Nvidia buuuuuuuurn after making so much shameful profit these past 2 years, yehaw! -
just beware that if u offer it to the community here, expect lower offers since members here tend to be more in the know regarding hardware pricing 😄 so id maybe expect more like 350€ instead due to used and no warranty.

unuseable in what way? too slow? no infrastructure? too pricey?

Buy non-original battery ...or not?

yep had the same thing happen to me recently, was also pleasantly surprised. however, i think i read somewhere that in case they find something funky with ur return, theyll just charge ur amazon account 😛 -
a quick look on sold 2070 Super FE models on ebay suggests an average price of 450€. compared to that, u can get an RTX 3060 or an RX 6650XT gpu new for a bit less (starting at 400€ for a 3060 and 410€ for a 6650XT). the 3060 is a tad slower than the 2070 Super, with the 6650 XT a tad faster, so the 2070 Super slots right in between. considering the performance, i would say 400€ would be a fair price (probably a bit less due to used an no warranty i guess?), but if u can get more on fleabay id say go for it 🙂 with a bit of luck u can maybe squeeze out 450-500€ for it.

How many spinning hard drives do you have in your desktop?

movies (~2800), tv shows (141) and games (56), my friend! 😄 they are currently totaling about 5.4 TB, so my 2x4 TB 860 Evos are now 75% filled 😛 curious to see how much longer they will last haha -

out of reactions for today, so thumbs up to that! in any case, u definitely dont think like the majority of buyers. regular joe is just impatient, so gets "whatever is available" NAO and gets instant buyers remorse after a day or so 😛 btw, ive been saving up for 2.5 years now, hows THAT FOR BEING IMPATIENT?!?!?!? *gimme newgen already* 😄 -

rumor mill says Nvidia already postponed the 40 series launch by a month. funny thing is, they cannot push it back too much, otherwise they will fall behind AMD launching first and missing out on the "next-gen" hype 😄 dont u just love them big players getting in trouble? 😛 -

...and there is no way im getting a 4090 Ti knowing that 5000 series is lurking around the corner just a few short months later. when looking at overall time frame, a 4090 makes more sense because itll be top dog for 1.5 years, vs. the 4090 Ti for barely 6 months (this is, of course, based on the 3000 series release cycle. if the 4090 Ti is only released shortly after the 4090 that would change things). this issue is also being complicated due to the 4090 Ti vs 4090 gap looking much larger than the current 3090 vs 3090 ti. its tricky! and yes, this was also the first time i started considering buying the best of an outgoing generation....i.e. going for the 3090 Ti shortly after the 40 series has launched. in any case, first world problems 😁 -
hmmmm...regarding the contact frame, one issue i can foresee is that i wont be able to use the custom copper IHS by rockit cool since it lacks the "step" all around of the original IHS. im thinking: the custom copper IHS might be worth a couple of degrees, whereas the contact frame "might" get me up to 7-8C. tricky stuff 🤔

if i remember correctly, the unlocked eurocom bios is not exactly the same as the PM, but it provides some of the same functionality.
-
yep thats the 200W card. if i remember correctly that wont fit in the P775DM3. have u thought about a Pascal card? seems like it goes up to 1080, if not Turing maybe? https://eurocom.com/ec/upgradepricelist(2,392)CLEVO_P775DM3-G_SAGER_NP9172_ORIGIN_EON17X
-
it depends on the form factor. the single full fat 200W design from the P870DM will not work. but if its a SLI card in the 175W variety, then it will work (if i remember correctly. its been a while 🙂 ) lets call bro @Mr. Fox on this because i remember he has handled both variants of the 980.

thats a weird one. keep us updated mate -
whoa, why in heck did they choose to go with such a high res display? doesnt make any sense on such a display size, plus will hamper performance of the naturally weak internals and also hurt battery life.....wth

How many spinning hard drives do you have in your desktop?
jaybee83 replied to Sandy Bridge's topic in Desktop Hardware
a bit late to this party, but here goes: currently all SSD as stated in my sig, plus a 1 TB M.2 2242 inside an USB 3.1 10Gbps enclosure (basically self-built USB stick with waaaaaay better IOPS performance than trashy standard sticks 😛 ) for my upcoming desktop build im actually planning to incorporate some spinning rust again, likely an 18 or 20 TB HDD, basically as a backup of all my sh*t. -
Good numbers? (hd power on \ ssd writes \ OS install)
jaybee83 replied to 6730b's topic in Components & Upgrades
any stats that dont show up on crystaldiskinfo can usually be read out using the SSD specific tool box from the SSD manufacturer. also ensure that ure on the latest crystaldiskinfo version 🙂 -
yeah would have suggested smth similar as @Aaron44126 before, i.e. with a linux live distro booting from a usb. otherwise i would have tried to alter the access rights on that particular file. dll files / system files sometimes need special access to be altered by the user. in any case, glad u got it sorted out so quickly 🙂

what keeps me away from buying used phones is the battery. id have to research first how good the support for that particular phone model is by third party shops able to replace the battery first before making such a decision.
