  1. another member of the NBR Clevo Gang! glad you found your way to NBT mate 🙂
  2. can hardly contain myself, so im in need of a little outlet here in this thread... today i started ordering the first components for my upcoming monster desktop build, first desktop in 15 years!!! and have been saving up for almost 3 years now LOL 😁 actually only did that because of stock and pricing, originally planned to wait until Zen 4 availability mid to end of this month. in any case, i ordered a corsair M65 rgb ultra wired, because it was FINALLY available in europe after being out of stock for like the past 9 months or so (still no idea wtf happened). second item was the Seagate Firecuda 530 4TB (Heatsink version), that suddenly dropped in price by a whopping 70₮ (-11%) so naturally i grabbed one before the offer is up. long story short: i hope to be able and show off my build in a few weeks time here, as well 😁✌🏞 thx for bearing with me on this guys 😂😋
  3. screenshots with rounded corners FTW! ðŸĪ ðŸĪŠ
  4. i get where ure coming from. issue here is the same as always: u gotta attract the masses first, thus a macbook like thin n light crapple design is the way to go. and naturally, that brings along restrictions in space, thermals, wattage and, of course, performance. so with all soldered down on the mobo its kinda unavoidable that its so expensive.... sigh
  5. LOL ive never used the multi-quote function before, i feel very DUH now ðŸĪĢ thx for the heads up man, appreciate it haha. but glad my post can still help when wanting to quote after having already posted.
  6. Hey folks, As many of you might have already noticed, we dont really have an option for multi-quotes in replies yet at NBT (at least not when youve already submitted your post). However, there is a workaround that you can use in the meantime. Thanks to @Reciever for pointing out this section to me so that I can post this little step by step guide! Admin Edit: To be more specific, this guide is meant to reflect how to "edit-in" another post into your last post in the event someone added more content or you had simply missed the post and wish to comment on or address it without double posting. The workaround is as follows, and currently has only been verified on Desktop (mobile might depend on the browser / device ure using): - write original message while quoting someone by clicking "quote" button under the message u want to quote (regular single quote) - submit reply - go to second message u want to quote, click on "quote" - in the new second reply window, click on the quote and ull see a small box on the upper left corner like here (thanks to @Mr. Fox for being the guinea pig here 😄) - click on that box, do a Ctrl+X - go back to your first message, click edit, do a Ctrl+V to insert the second quote and off you go! Note: Before inserting the second / third, etc. quote u might want to insert 2-3 empty lines after your previous text, otherwise there will be no additional lines after the new quotes to type. It is a bit annoying but it works!
  7. hang in there bud, for such classics it might take a bit of time until something fitting pops up. also extend ur search to worldwide, might find something in asia or europe.
  8. haha sure, want a post here or a new thread? or send it to you via DM? lemme know how i can help 🙂 @Papusan duuuude, that 60mm rad is a THICC BOI!
  9. i have encountered something similar before. one thing that might lead to an error like this is if you placed the driver files too deep into the file system. try and copy the driver install folder to the root directory on C : so that the path length if minimally long. placing it on the desktop does not count, since the path length is still like 3-5 levels deep. maybe this helps!
  10. yep same here. what i do is just add 2-3 empty lines first, then go back up and insert the quote. that way u have those additional empty lines after the quote ready to text 🙂
  11. those are probably the mosfets for the vRAM VRMs. u can just use an extra thick thermal pad to connect them to the heatsink (or stack several thinner ones), definitely better than nothing!
  12. to break it down in more detail: - write original message while quoting someone by clicking "quote" button under the message u want to quote - submit reply - go to second message u want to quote, click on "quote" - in the new "second message window", click on the quote and ull see a small box on the upper left corner like here: click on that box, do a Ctrl+X - go back to your first message, click edit, do a Ctrl+V to insert the second quote and off you go. its a bit annoying but it works!
  13. it is actually possible to add quotes! but only on desktop, not on mobile browsers...u have to manually cut n paste them. here, lemme show you (end of message part 1 without editing) edit: aaand here inserting a quote from @Reciever and yes ure right, altho it is possible its not really feasible....
  14. completely agreed on all points. gotta set your priorities straight with a kid coming up (but also gotta scratch that itch hahaha ðŸĪ ) im expecting RDNA3 to follow the same "philosophy" as the CPU side, meaning they will likely get beaten by Nvidia by single-digit percentages (as potentially 13900K vs. 7950X) but at far far FAR less power consumption. as for why im going with the 4090, larger vRAM (expected) and earlier availability. for power consumption ill be set with a Seasonic TX-1600, hope thats enough for that monster card ðŸĪĢ😅☠ïļ
  15. crappedy-crap, next hard brick and programmer flash incoming later today! on the bright side, bandwidth and latency numbers are heading towards +60% above the SPD at 2400 Mhz 🙂 not done with tightening of subtimings yet though (will update with exact performance numbers once done). also, this disassembly will give me a chance to do a proper LM reapply, the current one is suboptimal at best....
  16. yeah its more like the prices adjusted in such a way that asking for a discount will then get u regular aftermarket pricing 😄
  17. i feel ya brother! first desktop system in 15 years! been saving up for almost 3 years now, so im going all out with the 7950x 😛 if theres gonna be an X3D version of that ill switch right away, few months timeframe is just not long enough for me to be acceptable 😄 also aiming for a 4090 later in Oct/Nov, although im VERY curious to see what AMD has to offer with RDNA3, i have a feeling they will be even more competitive than with RDNA2.
  18. yeah its weird that AMD chose to lower their pricing on the higher tear 7950X but go higher price with the 7600X. seems counter-intuitive, but ill wait and see what the reviews say when raptor lake comes out. doesnt mean ill wait with the purchase though, AM5 makes more sense for me personally 😁
  19. loving the way u take care of ur classic machine, keep it up 🙂 best to post pics of both the new and old cards, as well as the heatsink. that way we can figure out where it might not fit.
  20. oh boy, u really think AMD would leave PCH/CPU link at pcie 4.0? cant imagine that, especially not on X670E mobos that provide 2 chips in order to have enough pcie 5.0 lanes available for gpus as well as I/O. thanks for the headsup though, something to look out for! during the upcoming reviews!
  21. that would still be minimum 3 gens vs. intel 2 full stop 😛 ill take it! and yes, im referring to the "+" when counting 3 gens at one gen per 2 years... wallet is ready for the 27th ðŸĪ
  22. yes asbolutely agreed on the overall abysmal situation with regards to no money in pocket + inflation. however, both intel and amd are still gonna try high prices before they come to their senses. i mean, look at how long it took Nvidia and their partners to react. price in europe are STILL way too high for 3000 series. dont expect too much empathy or understanding from those companies ðŸĪ” sooo according to AMD's livestream right now the 7950x is about 48% faster than 5950x in CB23 multi. damn thats gonna be a very tight race vs. the 13900k. i figure intel is just gonna bin it until the last second to just barely beat the 7950x 😄
  23. hmmm Intel isnt in full control of their own pricing though. shareholders demand a certain margin, since Intel has never been the "budget option" for cpus. so if AMD offers comparable / better performance for a lower price, Intel will be under pressure to either ignore that or make their shareholders mad... also, can only put that 800 dollar price tag into perspective once 13900K pricing is known. if the 13900K ends up being 900 dollars, then 800 aint that bad 😄
