  1. thats ok man, ure doing the best u can. a few hiccups here and there are to be expected. besides, no harm done, wouldve been much worse if the account was hacked!
  2. likely gpu related, could be defective vRAM.
  3. hey guys, greetz from my vacay in greece 😄 i found the part number for the 280W brick, in case anyone is interested: Chicony A18-280P1A Since i dont have the machine with me right now, could anyone check the outer diameter of the power plug facing the laptop? @win32asmguy@GT3000 that chicony psu comes in three different flavours, two of which are round barrel type. one is 7.4x5.0 mm outer/inner, the other is 5.5x2.5 mm outer/inner. the NBC review of the raptor x15 actually shows a peak consumption at 260W so im hopeful that connecting the 280W psu will allow the system to draw more power. max ive seen so far was exactly at the 230W limit of the stock psu. in any case, ive already found several different sites where this psu can be sourced from, with prices ranging 100-135€.
  4. that was more towards ur account having been accessed to edit your previous post, thats why i suggested changing ur password 😋 but true, in theory a mod or admin account with post editing privileges might have also been hacked, alternatively. but i would start with securing your own account first.
  5. agreed, although still not abligatory features yet, moving forward DLSS, RT, etc will only become more wide spread and important. curious to see if AMD's non-Tensor open alternatives will force Nvidia to switch at some point similar to Gsync vs. Freesync previously. in the long run, open source running on regular gpu cores trumps proprietary software running on custom Tensor cores.
  6. i can imagine a potential lure would be more control over privacy, more flexibility on customizations and a truly open system.
  7. i actually just set a linear custom fan curve and the machine stays super quiet, no worries on that front. and whenever full perf under heavy load is required i switch to full blast Fn+1. for my lady the latter is never really necessary, so shes a happy camper 🙂 for info: i set the fans to only start ramping up at 60C and above, then did a linear curve from 60 to 100C going from 34 to 100% fan speed. so the middle set point between the two ends resulted in 80C with 67% fan speed 😋
  8. subbed out of interest and tech curiosity. hope this turns out well, would be a shame for such a nice machine to go out.
  9. hum....time to change your passwords 😅
  10. another system saved from the unnecessary landfill. the beauty of socketed hardware 😁
  11. sweet intro, love the refurb setup! and no matter what kinda hardware ure rockin, ull find ur corner here at NBT 🙂
  12. thats a classic! in automotive world that would be an oldtimer haha.
  13. i do have a wattmeter but so far ive only looked at hwinfo data and during gpu intensive runs the 230w total system power limit is actually breached. sure, wattmeter might show slightly different numbers but shouldnt be too far off i guess, so not much tweaking room left for the gpu on the 230W stock psu. @win32asmguy ill have another look at the NBC review to check the model number of the psu. might be worrh getting it aftermarket...
  14. reaaaaaally curious what thatll do to the 12900k performance in this machine 😁👌🏼 im now hoping that we can get some undervolting and RAM tuning action going to push this machine a bit further. as for the gpu, not sure how much we can get out of it considering that ill likely need a bigger psu at that point. are there are 280/330W psus around with the NH55 barrel power connector? i saw that Eurocom actually offers more powerful psu options, hmmm....
  15. yep thats reminiscent of the Clevo story where they were planning to release a 3080Ti in MXM form factor but Nvidia wouldnt let them 🙄
  16. ill keep an eye out for the service manual, as well. it usually takes a while until it "leaks" out, since its not intended to be available to the peasants = consumers 😋 btw got some promising preliminary results in for the copper IHS upgrade, the 10 min CB23 stress test resulted in almost 10% higher average clocks (+340 Mhz) at roughly identical temps and wattages. core temp spread was also reduced from max. 6C to now just 4C between hottest and coolest running core. not bad considering were talking about a locked cpu at identical settings! will run the full set of benches i did for the initial baseline and then follow up with posting more detailed results.
