  1. ha, when i saw this thead i instantly thought to myself: I LIKE BOATS! (Jayztwocents) 😄 (now THATS an ad that works, i dont even play!)
  2. haha kool, keep a lookout on the marketplace here then 😉
  3. yep, brilliant answer bud! the problem isnt that we would like to have ONLY DTRs, but that there is a lack of choice. we had BGA only thin n light crap in the olden days, as well. but nowadays its all there is on the market....no more choice 😐
  4. Clevo FTW in this regard 😎
  5. i was referring to a desktop cpu coupled with an MXM gpu. not a desktop chip on an mxm board 😄 although Khenglish has shown that even that is actually possible haha
  6. just throw a desktop cpu in the machine, couple it with a proper MXM card with beefy power delivery and dont define an interchangeable hardlock on cpu+gpu wattage. let both go as high as temps let you. voila, u got urself a real DTR that could easily use a 660W psu at the same dimensions of the previous 330W 😛😉
  7. how about SteamOS or the newly released ChromeOS for any PC? that would totally suit ur machine im sure ðŸĪĢ
  8. haha yep, wasnt too serious about that suggestion anyways, ull likely have problems with signal integrity and power delivery if you stack them up like that.... but just based on sensibility, there SHOULD be an adapter going from 3042 directly to 2030 ðŸĪ” have u checked on aliexpress / ebay?
  9. lets see if that stays that way after the previous experience haha. fingers crossed!
  10. well for now u definitely have the double adapter route *lol* 3042 to mpcie followed by mpcie to 2030 😅
  11. in general, the continuous development of more efficient psus is definitely a good thing. i like seeing a new 330W model with smaller dimensions. BUT (and this is a biggens) the unfortunate reality is that the industry nowadays only tries to do less with more instead of MORE with more. so with a more efficient psu design u can either go smaller dimensions at same wattage OR higher wattage at same dimensions. weve got the former....but where is the latter? ðŸĪĻ
  12. im getting the popcorn ready: ryan vs. Katja's gf in the fight of their lives haha
  13. thats pretty good, id say around 200 GB is the point at which i could stop checking my data usage per month altogether and just do whatever i ususlly do.
  14. nice! so at least it seems like the new bios DID indeed improve mem compatibility? iirc u werent able to reach 7000 before, right? capped out at 6800?
  15. dude, you have noooo idea what u just said 😂 so lemme be a tease once more: IF we are successful with this mod and it brings ACTUAL performance and functionality advantages to the table, then there MIGHT be some vendors who would partner up with the unicorn rainbow master on this for our machines ðŸĪŠ all of this purely hypothetical and a total mind construct, naturally 😉
  16. funny thing is, some big customer companies pay for that extended support but in the end, all those additional updates trickle down to all win7 lovers 😛
  17. 93rd percentile? shame on you, throw away that garbage hardware, aint worth nothin, top 1 % or go home 😂
  18. LOL yep, the mobile gpu landscape is a total mess... basically, every single gpu in every single laptop chassis behaves completely different due to stringently tight power and temperature envelopes. 3060s and 3070s that are faster than 3080s and 3080 Tis, its a total chaos. and then u end up with like 20 different sub skus of every mobile gpu, total facepalm. its a pain even for enthusiasts like us to maintain proper overview of all the different performance tiers...
  19. have a close look at the card, check for any abnormal SMDs, black stains, anything that might indicate a broken component. also, if possible, try the card in another machine to see if it still works.
  20. i havent done any proper checking of it yet, i assume the more massive copper IHS is more resistant to warping than the stock IHS. the thermal paste application looks ok from what i can gather. but of course, best way to check would be to compare perf and temps with and without the contact frame 😄
