  1. We had one, no one used it nor has anyone made a single thread for Apple within the "other manufacturers" sub-forum. A few members have used the OS section to discuss Apple as an OS (to which I enjoyed reading) but not a whole lot of traffic to justify creating a sub-forum for it. Same goes for ARM, no reason an official discussion thread cant be made, if there is enough traffic more than happy to make a sub-forum for it.
  2. Not everyone has the desire to become completely dependent on the Government, it makes for interesting topic of discussion but this forum, in the framework presented, is not the place for it.
  3. cardboard is excellent for getting mock ups going I also keep some on hand for such purposes (plus I hate buying cardboard lol)
  4. He wants full function of the monitor which currently means nothing from Nvidia nor does he intend to play games at that resolution the point is to have that fluid motion and refresh rate for work, gaming is the nifty bonus not the primary.
  5. Mostly spreadsheets (lots of them), Email, Teams. He is not interested in Intel, 4090 cant supply the bandwidth over the port for the full resolution and refresh on the panel he has so to him the RTX 4090 is a non starter. He isnt expecting the 7900XTX to knock it out of the park in gaming at that resolution but for standard use, and its half the price of the 4090 so that was his starting point. I have shared this with him, on top of my own recommendation. He wasnt too keen on giving me a budget, gave me a very helpful answer of "no limit, but dont want to spend more than I have to" lol So I gave him a look at the Asrock B650E Lite to which he was impressed with but he hasnt pulled the trigger on anything as of yet. Thank you for your input 🙂 I think most of his unlimited budget might have gone into that screen lol Yeah basically my Program Manager got one first, he complained because his Precision laptop couldnt output the full experience (hardly surprising) but he also shared his experiences with the PM's and as such as the resident computer nerd I was pinged about it.
  6. Hey guys, a coworker of mine is going to be building a desktop soon and hes looking at AM5, he's by no means an overclocker, Project Manager by trade and he finds the 7800X3D since its a turn keyish solution and also the 7900 XTX because I think he has the Samsung G9 so hes concerned about being able to get the full offering from the monitor. I know not all of you are using AM5 but my question is this, what motherboard would you guys recommend? He is looking at ATX and Im waiting to hear back from him about the budget. This will be purchased in the US48, we do have a Microcenter in Dallas within driving distance. Thanks in advance guys
  7. Be sure to check out the mod community for it, its quite expansive
  8. I just play Assetto Corsa, with content manager drive any car I want :)
  9. You are likely insane, but that doesnt mean you're wrong :D If NVCleaninstall is open source it wouldnt surprise me if Nvidia "twisted the knife", are you able to recreate the performance "degradation" with reinstalling via NVCleaninstall? I know you are short on time, just thinking out loud.
  10. No real reason to not be able to voice their opinion on a tech forum. As long as its within our community rules I'd rather see it than not. It'd be nice if Microsoft could make a new OS at some point, We still see elements from Windows NT/2000 in Windows 10/11.
  11. It appears to be loading up for me albeit with a bit of time lag, mind you it is privately hosted by @Aaron44126 perhaps he was working on some maintenance. Everything ok on your end @Aaron44126 ?
  12. Yeah I noticed that its just 4 layers, 2 Base layers (MAC/WIN) with 2 Fn layers. You can obviously switch it to where the layers are meaningless and toggle between 4 independent layers but that might not jive well with the physical switch. When I was changing some of the keys I thought i was doing it wrong since nothing was being reflected when I realized that I changed the "mac" side and not the "win" side. I also had to use the alternative method to allow VIA access to the keyboard as well. Personally I would rather just have the raw format, VIA is great for quick changes but it doesnt seem like I can use the code I have from my other devices in VIA. The keyboard also isnt officially accepted into QMK libraries if I understand it correctly so I cant "build" and compile keymaps which is pretty disappointing. I'll have to see if I can do it independently.
  13. Keep in mind the forum is being hosted out of pocket, so the amount each member can post is also limited. If you delete some of your older pictures, your space will free up. That all being said this forum does embed picture from hosting sites very well.
  14. Well during the time I didnt have any PC's and wasnt permitted one for around 6 months, otherwise I agree. I was using my phone to take my QMK documentation and proofing home and bring back for further proofing at the time. Its one of those something better than nothing scenarios
  15. The only thing that irks me about Pixel is that there is no desktop mode. Would make work a lot more convenient but I take pictures pretty often and they are very very often very clean for how quick I can snap a picture and move on to other tasks so I try to see it as a trade off (without having looked at Galaxy pics of course lol)
  16. I used to hold a bunch of spare parts for a couple of our clients that let's just say was buddy buddy with the ceo. We kicked them to the curb and they told me to get rid of it. I put some in 6x hp t630's for potential homelab cluster. Then I forgot that I had them until this last weekend when I started repurposing my mining hardware into homelab virtual sandboxes. Going to use the sandboxes for homelab but I've also been interested in gpu pass through as well.
  17. You can easily check and see how a given title runs on linux via https://www.protondb.com/ which is a steam plugin if I understand it correctly.
  18. You vote with your wallet, I didnt like having to deal with social club + Games for Windows live so I dont have any interest in RockStar titles. Its not like they need my purchase and I dont need their games. Fairly certain that the last title I have from them is Max Payne III. There are more Operating Systems than just Windows :)
  19. I wrote off Rockstar some time ago when they used Games for Windows live, havent touched any of their games since.
