@ryan Take your discussion of marketplace purchases to PM, this is not the place for it. Post edited to remove said content. -
I wanted one like no one's business but I don't think they sold in the US? Another one I'm keen on finding is a 460 2win, used to have one when it released

Replace that crap with a Zeon flag and im in. Though with how sensitive people are about iron cross like imagery, probably never happen. -

Thumbnails like that make me giggle a bit, 200FPS? cool. No need to upgrade if im just playing games lol -
Everything feels easier in Windows, until it doesnt work and you are using the programmer to get it up and running anyways. Its understandable though

What card did you get? While not conclusive every instance of the 1070 in the P157SM-A, which I think shares similar platform to the P150SM, was the MSI variant.

Welcome to the Forums! -
correct, that was my understanding as well. This would just mean that without the bits included for the GPU in question (in this instance, a p3000) then that means an INF mod will be required?
-
So, to summarize, don't use "unknown" in Bios as a measure for if a GPU is functional or not if it's not a part of the list of GPU's that was coded within the bios to recognize from factory. Going to need to install the drivers and test for performance, it's basically the same process as my p157sm-a recently.

If I am to understand @runix18, there is a list of GPU's in the system BIOS. When one of them is plugged in, it will use that information to show you in the BIOS. If using a card that is not on that list, it will show "unknown" even if it does actually work. Think of it like a whitelist. Though of course I can be wrong, I am not as well educated as some of the others on the forum.

According to the post, looks to be the case.

thermal compounds do tend to break down over time, all depending on a number of factors in play. I havent personally used anything fancy, so others input may be more valuable on that front. Modded BIOS tends to allow for overclocking better, yes. But also allows greater CPU/GPU support for your chassis.

I would lean more towards heat dissipation, I noticed the same on Dells Mobile Precision 5680 is thicker, but also hot enough to actually be painful while using only a 65w AC Adapter. More likely because its shell is metal though...

Here is a guide for modding the INF file for driver installation. Its in English but you should be able to follow along with the video. @ssj92 is using an rtx 3000, you will want to make sure you are modifying for the P3000.
