Good Morning All, Just wanted to get a keyboard thread started, a lot of the stuff I do with revolves around various means of input so I figured I would start this as I plan to start making a semi-custom Traditional 1800 board after I do a bit more research. What kind of keyboards does everyone use? I used to pretend that I dont really belong in the hobbyist mechanical keyboard realm, but that doesnt seem to be an honest rendition of the current situation, haha. For now, what I have is the following... IBM Model M w/ the ol' Bluckling Spring Durgod Full-Size keyboard, Cherry MX Brown WASD Keybaords Code v3 TKL Cherry MX Blue Pok3r Vortex 60% Cherry MX Nature White Nullbitsco Tidbit, QMK, OLED, Rotary Encoder, Numpad w/ Cherry MX Black I find myself enjoying the Nature Whites the most, not so much the 60% layout though, it has its charms. I have long since desired a traditional 1800 keyboard as it reminds me of the Alienware 17 R1 keyboard, which I also enjoyed. Previously have always been a big fan of the MX browns (still am) but the Nature Whites are fantastic to type and game on. I am thinking of getting a QMK powered, "custom" Traditional 1800 PCB and build it out with MX Nature Whites.

A coworker of mine that I have been training for the 6 months was fired today. I was hoping she would be able to replace me in my current role but HR got involved, and now she is gone. Like I tell everyone, the more HR gets involved, the less Human I feel. The one honest person I have come across and they got rid of her. Meanwhile I have more expensive people around me that cant scan a barcode accurately, show up when ever they want and dictate the terms of their roles. Truly gutted

Yep, I will be addressing this with Hiew IRL next time I see him, things appear to slowing a bit with both our work lives so we I intend to hopefully address a number of holes overall on the forum.

Oh no, my apologies, I meant the seller. I should've been clearer. -

Should've just sent that in PM, though at times I too fall victim to knee jerk reactions. That being said not usually after a week. -
It's better than nothing. It's a difficult balance between rational communication of a potential danger that you can't relate too and sounding irrational by skipping the details for shock value which makes for an uphill battle.

Pleasantly surprised the IT guy at work plays some of the same games I do. The other night we played some gtfo

Honestly during the x58 days people were joking around that if Intel decided to "up the ante" they'd have to go i9 as a joke. Whats next? i9 then i12? Was often the banter. -
For me I came from a k20a3 base automatic to a 6 speed k24a. The car is a lot of fun to drive, last time I had a standard was on a stock beater 240sx 15 years ago. I plan to work on suspension and wheels first though, I can feel the old car bending a bit. I'm not racer by any means, as someone who's been hit by 2 cars the engine becomes the guilty pleasure while the handling is where my focus tends to be.

Hit me up when you are all squared away with the 2080S, I may take you up on it. Regarding the heatsink I dont know, but I will look into it hopefully some time today. -

The trick is realize what is the top and take a couple steps back as yesteryear's products are still quite potent for most people. Obviously this thread will skew that a bit but you have to realize that this group seeks the top of the mountain, actively. The laptop I have sitting aside for now still plays everything, just need to replace the gpu and presto I'm gaming just like the rest of them on a 9700F @ 4.5 and a 1080/2080 maybe 3080. You could also look at AM4 if budget is the principle focus. It's a bit inversed to say budget but also 4090. It's not a good idea as that would mean you are likely cutting corners everywhere else, shoddy motherboard, shoddy Psu both which aren't desirable with a 4090. -

The sale is complete, discussion of the merits of TV's VS monitor not remotely close to this threads purpose. You are free to make a thread in the relevant spaces of the forum, this, is not one of them. -

Yeah I remember a frys sales guy telling my brother in law he needed 750w for a 4th Gen system with no gpu. Told him he would be fine with 250w, 500w if he wanted a fancy gpu. To which he told me that he knew that was wrong because he was A+ certified. I asked him what section of A+ covered that because it wasn't on mine. Just to not stick metal things into psu, which, really shouldn't need explanation lol -

I think maybe today I will try putting GrapheneOS on my 7 Pro. I used to always put Custom Rom's on my phones and have been gutted that the scene seems to have mostly fizzled out. Unless of course I just dont know where to find that stuff anymore -
I do make attempts to be as transparant as possible in my moderator related actions, sometimes Im in a bind for time where I can let a problem persist ( which can be perceived as "ok" ) or cut it out for later notation. I elected for the latter in this instance since the debate was spilling out into other threads.
