    I know I played Crysis 3 but I cant remember it. Though it did look quite nice and I do remember having a good time playing through it.

    I havent heard any rumblings from Dell but I do have some executives visiting the workplace tomorrow. From what I understand though they arent very related to my line of work so I may not even see them, let alone ask about Windows 10 support. That being said my clients tend to buy in bulk and hold for some time. Fanciest thing I go through is probably Precision 7820's

    I cant read that, I think the forum is scaling the picture.     @bendella were you able to get it working how you wanted? Make sure you are satisfied with that purchase before you lose the return window in case it doesn't suit your needs. Everyone, I must thank you for your perspectives and providing assistance to my bud@bendella. He's been slowly climbing the mountain and (by his own admission) not very technical. I didn't have the time to properly do the research and guidance.

    Being equal of course that would be the natural conclusion as well. Like all things all amounts to timing and opportunity. Love the oversized air coolers and it was some time ago but @Hiew may remember when I had the r9 290x and strapped a couple of 120mm fans on it to maintain the 1175c and modded bios acquired from OCN at the time. @Mr. Fox that is one reason I have some interest in the 2080Ti, mostly the ability to tune it to the max potential due to its nature of it being a halo product for a time. I have a 3090 but its busy churning hash, I've got a server heatsink on the back side of it with a vaccum cooler to keep the memory a healthy temperature. For now I'll start building out the rest of it, need to get some drill bits and some other tidbits to really start it up

    Hows the ol' 2080ti stacking up these days? Been debating the 6900xt or 2080ti, no idea if they are similar or anything just the only 2 cards I still hold an interest for. No idea where I would source a 2080Ti but I know the accelero xtreme IV works with it and gosh darn it its been a long held dream to have that cooler on something

    Under an ideal scenario it can last quite some time. I think Raidriar had his for 5 years? ideal scenarios are hard to come by

    Its true there is the inherent risk, its particularly troublesome when it dries out, its usually due to poor contact (which is very relative). poor contact being a much smaller threshold when compared to nearly anything else.

    Its just a heated discussion, it doesnt mean I hate you or anything like that. Me, @Mr. Fox and @Papusan along with many others all got into numerous arguments on laptops to the point where I was blue in the face and still engaging. Just because there is a difference in opinion doesnt always 1:1 translate to right and wrong. Sometimes a difference in opinion is only just that. The world keeps spinning, just because you have a different take shouldnt mean automatic categorization into an oversimplified box. It is but 1 topic to which there are infinite.

    Looks to be available there, you may want to try using DDU and start fresh. Make sure to uninstall all AMD drivers as well since you had a 570 8GB before this. @Mr. Fox @electrosoft @Rage Set@Papusan Have you guys experienced issues with Freesync panels ? For now I recommend DDU since this desktop used to be running AMD RX 570 8GB.

    You will need to provide way more information @bendella Firstly, Benq EX2780Q is not a g-sync monitor, while the casual consumer may not know this (including myself) g-sync used to be an actual hardware component that was added into various panels. This monitor does not have this, but it is Freesync and it looks to be by the manufacturer stating it does have software validation for G-sync. I believe you already know this but its helpful to provide as much information as possible for onlookers to offer up a better troubleshooting. Can you provide your PC's specifications, cables used, driver version and the GPU you have? Also take a look at the monitors OSD (On-Screen Display) and see if there is a Freesync mode or on/off switch for those items.

    There is currently no announcement for an actual full game release or intent that there is a team behind that type of project. So this seems to be moot argument, ala waste of time. Im ok with being told I am very ignorant, very very ignorant is where I draw the line 🤭 I've been playing CyberPunk 2077 on my laptop, thus far having a grand time running around doing gigs for Regina Jones. I am halfway through the heist now. I really need to get some more liquid metal, seems to have dried up my 1080 just sitting at 90c in game 😕

    There is no basis for those claims and mountains of evidence to the contrary. If it was better than most tech demos it would be a demo. Not being able to see how it could be worse than the non playable tech demo just means you bought into the hype and marketing did its job. This isn't to disparage the game devs, I hope they achieve all that they hope to and in style but that doesn't mean consumer should ignore details either.

    I dont mind keeping it here, and if we determine a good way for the thread to appear in both categories then we will pursue that. I do think the types of people that would actually see this thread would do so because its Linux and those that dont are on Windows. From a functional stand point it makes more sense for it to remain here, although I do also agree with wanting to promote Linux in at least to display that gaming is more than possible on its platform. Perhaps we can get some guides going with 0 to gaming on the platforms and distros you guys like to use, the monkey wrench being systems that have optimus only tend to be problematic in Linux, or at least that was my experience in the past. If the moderation team see fit to move the thread into another location then of course I will support that decision so long as the reasoning is provided. I know that Hiew is a heavy proponent of Linux and I've supported it as a spectator but most of my experiences all failed mostly due to custom nature of the laptops I was using. I would like to make Win10 my last windows iteration since it just seems to be more and more of an invasion on what little privacy I have left.

    Essentially the same for me. Though perhaps there just isn't anything right now that would allow me to be fully immersed. For real vr to take place I imagine it would take a room dedicated to do exactly that, stationary track movement, winds, smells, temperature as well as weightless vr visors as well as different tools for item interactions. Gotta start somewhere I suppose.

    Currently switching servers + DNS propagation hasnt been making progress as it should be. We are aware of the undesired behavior, havent had much time to put toward this but I will coordinate with @Hiew and get some time on the books to look things over.
