  1. Thanks! Well, In my opinion it means it should be plug and play but something tells me its not going to be the case... Have a bad feeling about this but I guess you don't know till you try it. Also I actually just realised the VRM layout is actually a little bit different for the bottom 4 but it is not a big problem as I will make sure they make good contact with the heatsink and get adequate cooling. Gosh this is going to be super stressful... Altough one user from this forum claimed that someone from Germany has succesfully replaced P870TM GPU to RTX 3080 so I am still hopeful. Also makes me wonder why AliExpress would have produced RTX 30 Series compatible Heatsinks if the machine itself would not accept the card, but I guess Ali might advertise 30 Series just for higher sales tbh.
  2. Hello! So today I actually lost my sanity and ordered RTX 3080 Laptop GPU for my P775TM1-G. To be honest I am very scared, every site even the seller mentions it doesn't work on any other laptop except the X170KM-G. However, I checked both boards and they look identical, same pinout, same layout etc. The only difference is the screw placement, the default RTX 2080 heatsink doesn't fit, and I am aware of that. Already ordered a replacement from AliExpress with 30 series screw placement support. BUT, I have a qustion someone from this forum might know the answer to. Is the VBIOS chip stored on the MXM card itself? Or the motherboard? Asking because if it is on the motherboard then I will definately need to reflash it right? Is the CH341 compatible with VBIOS chips? I really, really hope it will work๐Ÿ˜ญ Guys, please pray for my Clevo ๐Ÿ˜‚. I couldn't for the life of me find any laptop other than the X170KM-G that was equipped with its RTX 3080 GPU. Hopefully my P775TM1-G will manage... The display outputs are same, my laptop is also G-Sync version, same rated power 150W. But hopefully will be okay. Wondering about the VBIOS though, if anyone knows please let me know. Of course there will be a follow up as I recieve it and test it so the people who are wondering about compatability will know the answer...๐Ÿ˜ Thanks!
  3. Interesting... That means both keyboards I had was with the Blue LED weared out. Technically possible because neither was brand new. Good to know! If possible (big doubt) I will try to source a brand new one! As always thanks for the reply๐Ÿ™‚โœŒ๏ธ
  4. Would it be possible to get Prema's member name? So that I could write him a message about the BIOS?
  5. Hello everyone! Ever since I bought my Clevo 1 year ago I immediately noticed how the Blue lights for whatever reason is much much more dim than Red and Green. Anyone seen something like this? Maybe somebody knows which way I should look for a fix... It's to the point where I would call it non existent. Even in night you can ever so slightly see it. And of course I am now limited in colors because a lot of them don't mix properly anymore in the absence of Blue. Not sure where to start looking for the problem. Also it is not a keyboard issue as I already once had to go through keyboard replacement and as a matter of fact broke the 2nd one aswell... -_- Something with the D key might be wrong with the keyboard batches because while just playing Rocket League most of the time I somehow managed to break D key on both of them in the exact same way, it would slowly start no not register my presses until dying out completely.. Anyways, went off topic a bit. Thanks, Edgars
  6. Hi! I am interested in the igpu of P775TM1-G. What do you mean when you say there isn't hardware power connected to the embedded gpu? Do you mean there is no power routed to the IGPU pins on the CPU socket? (Just my first guess) Also, how do you know this information if I may ask? Thanks!
  7. Wish I would have thought of that when I had my Clevo fully naked๐Ÿ˜‚ Thats really handy, to have such port underneath a back cover. What I did was a bit more destructive, but worked well in the end - I dremeled a small square out of the metal shielding under the keyboard that was covering my bios chip on my P775TM1-G. Now I can access it by lifting my keyboard. Still, I like your solution better ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  8. Thanks for the in depth response! I appreciate it! Well then, the only thing left for me would be to try and test it out myself. To be honest it sounds good. You mentioned sometimes it can enable hardware that was never meant to run on the system before. First thing that comes to my mind is intel integrated graphics. Any chance Prema has found a way to install the necessary igpu modules in BIOS and get them properly detected? Anyways, I want to try it out. Any directions you can give me where I can try to acquire such mod for my P775TM1-G? And your thoughts on upgrading from 2080 to 3080 on a P775TM1-G? Any chances of it actually working, with hardware mods or not? Again, thanks for your response.
  9. Hello! Ever since I have had my Clevo machine (P775TM1-G) I have heard about a prema BIOS mod. I don't fully understand what it is. Is it just an unlocked stock BIOS, or does it offer something more than that? I am wondering if it can do something my current BIOS can't yet do. For example, changing RAM Tertiary timings is broken, you can choose whatever values it completely ignores them. Same with RAM command rate. There is quite a lot of other things that is broken in regards to RAM, so I am thinking whether thats fixed in prema. Thanks!
  10. There is a problem with the power spike as you mentioned. However, it happens when you try to use the laptop with battery only. Unless you are rocking a minimum of -0.115mv undervolt you wont be able to post this laptop with a battery in it. It just turns off before ever posting or showing anything on the screen. My guess is the 9900KS draws more power than the battery supply circuitry can provide. Having a big undervolt on the CPU fixes it, however you add 2xNVME drives and 1 sata HDD and it wont boot no matter how big of a undervolt you set. Everything just starts drawing too much power for the battery to boot the system.
  11. Hello! I just wanted to come by and say my P775TM1-G is running perfectly with a 9900KS. It could be your BIOS? Because I am running the stock latest Clevo BIOS, just unlocked.
