  1. I hope this allows us to bypass boot guard
  2. I am not. I did enable XMP and UV since BIOS 1.2.0 using RU.EFI however 1.6.0 enables UV and it looks like 1.7.0 was just released. I haven't tested 1.7.0 yet
  3. It's quite clear DDR5 SODIMM has huge limitations. I am running 128GB 2400Mhz DDR4 RAM in my 2019 Area-51m running a 9th gen CPU but these newer 12th gens can't run 128GB unless it's capped to almost previous gen speeds? lol The new 48GB modules will be nice because it should allow 96GB DDR5 and hopefully at full speed. My 5600Mhz 64GB CL40 kit runs at 5200Mhz CL38 in my m18. Of course if we had full control in bios for timings, speed, voltage, I'm sure we can hit higher.
  4. I had it happen once but it hasn't happened again. I would tell Dell about it, it's definitely not a one person thing.
  5. This has always been the case. Have you seen apple's SSD prices? It's always best to get the lowest capacity SSD and upgrade yourself later.
  6. If you get the 13980HX, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 4090, QHD, CherryMX model let me know if you wanna trade for mine LOL
  7. Yeah ironically this format is actually better than SODIMM for higher speed memory. It's why laptop SODIMM is stuck under 6Ghz whereas desktop is already at 8Ghz. If it does become standard at least it should hopefully allow higher speeds and capacity. I still find it weird DDR5 SODIMM was developed and no one thought about there being a bottleneck at higher speeds.
  8. Get the i9 13980HX & 4090 version. Still got the 15% coupon right? lol
  9. Submit a ticket to 3dmark support and link to your result. Tell them the GPU. They will fix it in 24 hours and all your results will become valid.
  10. RTX 3000 opens up ray tracing, dlss, hvec 8k acceleration, rtx video super resolution (coming later for us) Why use a older Pascal GPU?
  11. Could you send me a link?
  12. Where did you get the T1000? My friend bought a 1050Ti and it doesn't work for him. He ordered a P1000 now and hopefully that one works
  13. I had UV since 1.2.0 but someone else has confirmed 1.6.0 works with XTU. Honestly don't bother with XTU if BIOS UV is working. XTU and AWCC don't play nice together. Once I am done tweaking I may remove AWCC completely unless they allow more options like XTU.
  14. LOL I'll be happy to even hit 40k even with a cooler or ac cooling just for fun. But for 24/7 usage a undervolt scoring around 35-36k with temps peaking around low 90s I will be happy with. May try LM in the future again but I want to wait and see what others get after their repaste. You get 40k @ 258W I'm getting 37k @ 175W so it's quite impressive how he mobile chip performs at the lower power. I can hit over 200w on this (thank you AW for not limiting power this time) but again I will have to run ac cooling to see if I can not thermal throttle to reach 40k+ club
  15. If it shows in HWINfo then it should be working. Maybe your XTU got bugged. I would try removing XTU and reinstalling
  16. You must be using "all-core enhancement" or with increased power limits because the "stock" 13900K score around 38k from what I've seen. https://www.techpowerup.com/review/intel-core-i9-13900k/6.html Not to mention this is still stock on 13900HX running 5200Mhz RAM and still with a little bit of thermal throttling. Someone did get over 38k on 13980HX so next goal is 38k then after that OC. When I OC I expect to get higher than 38-39k hopefully. This is a realistic scenario, I can run the benchmark over and over and score around 36-37k. There's no "cooler pad" or anything, just my laptop sitting on my desk. Why would I limit it to 90c? The laptop cpu runs well below 100c in 99% of loads besides benchmarks that peg the CPU at 100% load over 175w. The repaste actually helped more than I expected. I didn't realize the CPU was boosting much higher I was so stuck on temps.
  17. Have you tried entering 100 in the core voltage offset in bios and see if that fixes it?
  18. Repasted with ptm7950, cores are much closer but still can hit 100c. Performance went up and I see CPU now retains much higher boost so it makes sense. 36k club: 37k: club: On desktop side of things....bought a 4070 FE lol
  19. lol that guy didn't even bother to look up why his cpu was 55w power. It was a bug in earlier m16/m18 bios, all he had to do was update/reset bios to fix it, but these youtubers don't care they will just say this is how it is. So interestingly I realized my CPU temps didn't improve because now the cpu boost higher. Even though its hitting 100c it now scores better and cores are closer. I will try removing the foam barrier and applying fresh ptm7950 to see if it improves further. 36k club 😄
  20. Naw, I am debating now of buying 2 subs and doing this to area-51m and m18 as well
  21. Nice I should buy 2 subwoofers from ebay for my area-51m and m18 Does the m18x subwoofer not fit in the 2.5" bay?
