  1. I think vBIOS with 4g decoding is only reason some Ada GPUs and even A4500 Amphere didn't work in M18xR2. It would be quite difficult to implement, but we could at least add ReBar support and see if it helps.
  2. I use Marcium reflect free edition to clone drives. Maybe try formatting it and try again. I am using a 870 Evo in a M14xR1 so it should work. Is the drive recognized if you boot from a windows install usb?
  3. rtx 3000 has bsods on m6600 regardless of vbios once driver is installed. Don't know if I wanna open up the m6800 and try. gtx 1080 gets stuck at windows logo
  4. How do you guys end up with FE cards? Last few launches, they were sold out before I even had a chance to buy
  5. Okay it was LVDS. I tried the RTX 3000 but Optimus no longer shows up in BIOS. Also it gets stuck at a black screen after the invalid system configuration error. I don't think these RTX 3000 from Adlink are as friendly with vBIOS but I guess I could try flashing a different vBIOS? Does this mean it won't work in M6800 either since the Optimus option disappears in BIOS in M6600 with RTX 3000? I know on our Alienwares we can force Optimus mode regardless of GPU installed with unlocked BIOS. EDIT: Flashed Dell RTX 3000 vBIOS. Optimus now shows up. Installed windows but after installing nVidia drivers I keep getting system service exception bsod loop. Can boot fine into safe mode.
  6. Well after removing everything up until the RAM it magically started booting up. I switched the RAM with some other modules I had. Power board cable got ripped during disassembly but now it's working at least
  7. Interesting, when I checked the PN on Parts People I ended up on the E11 version which is eDP. If it's LVDS then I should be able to use RTX 3000 then using Optimus. Once it's up and running I will attempt this. Interesting, I couldn't get my RTX 3000 to work on eDP but I have Adlink you have an HP one I am assuming. Forgot to mention another thing to try....using a driver older than 425.XX such as 419.XX This worked for me on M18xR1 using RTX 5000 with Intel HD 3000
  8. Laptop is non-working for now so I can't check until I disassemble which connector it uses. Service tag is: HJKPBT1 As far as I am aware, RTX 3000 does not support eDP. P4000 should though. Also, is there enough room for a slightly longer card to fit without any mods? 82x113mm
  9. @Nowan @Aaron44126 @TheQuentincc So it seems my M6600 might have a eDP display (N173HGE-E11). Does this mean Optimus is permanently disabled like the newer M6700/M6800? Or is there some weird MUX switching going on? My original plan was to put RTX 3000 in M6600 using Optimus. My M6800 has a LVDS display so I might just put the RTX 3000 in there. If it's eDP and directly connected I wonder if something like P4000 would work in M6600 with eDP display.
  10. Issue seemed to be the card itself. As my other card works fine. M18xR1 can run same power as R2 as you can see from my 3dmark results above.
  11. Yes but the first step will be to confirm the bios was modded correctly and flashes fine. If so I’m sure more people would be willing to try as well
  12. I can add the ReBar Module to the bios but need someone to test it and be able to flash back their backup bios via programmer is it fails. No clue if it will help booting newer GPUs
  13. I bought a M6600 for parts the seller claimed MB is probably dead. wanted to ask here in case it’s a dumb issue. AC charger doesn’t cause any lights to turn on. Pressing power button does nothing. I checked to make sure ram is installed, cmos battery cpu etc. any other trick I can try before I end up replacing the MB? I have a M6800 coming that has a battery so I’m going to try its battery in here in case the dc port is messed up or something.
  14. These new designs make the old ones look even better. I mean old ones were good but these new ones are meh. M series was peak for precision lineup.
  15. Interesting, I’ll have to take a look to see if I can find out what is different in vBIOS
  16. I’m waiting for my custom heatsink to be made. Once I get my M18xR1 from repair I’ll test in both R2/R1 with some results. Don’t want to use my a4500 heatsink since it doesn’t fit properly
  17. Have you tried adding ReBar to M18xR2 BIOS? It's a module. If you have a programmer and backup of BIOS I can try making custom BIOS with this. Then you can test newer GPUs in the system. https://github.com/xCuri0/ReBarUEFI
  18. A4500 also didn't work for me from Aetina. If you know how to mod BIOS you can add this module and see if it helps: https://github.com/xCuri0/ReBarUEFI
  19. I never got tracking for 3080. It just showed up one day
  20. Wow thanks for this. I will study it later and see what he did. Maybe this could also help us solve the 900 series working on M18xR1 as well. They all seem to be BIOS/vBIOS issues during Dell's Sandy Bridge laptops. Any chance you got his info? Looks like his reddit account is deleted.
  21. Do you have a link to the reddit thread on this vBIOS mod? I have 880M 980M RTX 3000 GPUs so I have a few generations I can play with.
  22. Is the laptop booting up fine though? Or it doesn’t even post with nvidia card? I have some ideas if it at least posts
