1080 should work in M17xR4. Size is slightly bigger if you ordered Aetina 1080 like the rest of us. It is wired for eDP so it'll work with 120Hz display or if you are using 60Hz display, as long as you see both intel gpu and nvidia gpu it'll work as well.

Price: $2250 SOLD Condition: Used Warranty: Until 2024 Reason for sale: Doesn't fit Case Payment: Paypal, Venmo, Cash Item location: East Bay, California Shipping: I'll cover shipping to US48 International shipping: N/A Handling time: 2 Business Days Feedback: https://www.heatware.com/u/73221/to https://www.ebay.com/fdbk/feedback_profile/ssj92?filter=feedback_page:All Specification: EVGA RTX 3090 KINGPIN : https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=24G-P5-3998-KR Hoping to sell this here to someone who will appreciate it. It was purchased from a NBR member in NOV 2021. He purchased it March 2021 and it was still sealed when I got it. It was for a friend but their case didn't clear the radiator. So I traded cash + my 3090 XC3 for it. I used it for a month benchmarking it then after decided to sell it. Got other hobbies that need $$$ and my Titan V handles everything for now. One side of the box has a slight rip. I have no idea how this happened since the box was sitting in my shed.

Intel AX210 update problem, the WiFi radio does not turn on.
ssj92 replied to rocas's topic in Alienware 18 and M18x
For the future I highly recommend people get the updated mini pcie card format instead: https://www.ebay.com/itm/255111905218?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item3b65dabfc2:g:47QAAOSwDclhKd3F&amdata=enc%3AAQAGAAACkPYe5NmHp%2B2JMhMi7yxGiTJkPrKr5t53CooMSQt2orsSg3Ye8yTWgOW7pmE1t838dogBwDBnL6PmMuFx9hEhMq0qwptEIvdzNJJ5szouz42KaVjHELTouvuNPLZ0XOeufa9JutitmJohHhrMYdXua8zpDpoewMKAoy74mYl5gYdgUqpW8YA52SqrkL2gynaYO31PesAQ6%2B55f0mZgyq4TuG4cFW8dsoEx7yUy5pC5foEzrSR3concnQv%2FE61cO5Sr4LPVAcTyCgZuIPLqTKaHm5rCSXRF9DG3y3keAtTLeh8MoUgqwZuthvTF6pKoW0qOoGM2dL0HQioGJ8TSorUTEhLMyHF6jlLRl%2FqH9xthZtkY5jErFA8a4S2bZGyHdCEkaTMRTof950HeycGi5puLjXgSCnNyaBXqxnYssY4gJyLUolY3toYibAaYj2VGAy7NmqSGQPpdp8MuhqmwiILVIIqh9yunl6DGWSisYsi%2FpSRlkLp3vo1pr7gb9BD4ael6fwKduaPOTdBLPTtTbdm7mPI%2B%2F7ITyEDwfvdMu3T5ez4FtqL4pXRrJUo5hEXhlk8paOemQf28RxylWq1NCzs8a5p%2FVneIV5janbWqcHaGAAc7M4CQYhYCmaWp7XmAhmHGh4wsn7sbeEEo%2BJ4ohoFoarXFqJGFNSaVJ8trXoD5F75yLY4DbOQzxfucwNT0MRIaj%2BImwr%2FirzgIkqRg3Zdp1RgEsgMy12eYB9phxznuApuHPn7L4IAe5iGO%2BQMAUYR2CoilwxTueDmmvag%2BMkIH4%2FbB%2FCMtcjIKK6uhej%2B44haFeIlmwp2z4sTmTVLvF%2F9C4r50dretq8CAGOadORruA8STE2N%2FtgxXBRN%2Bx0paIZu|clp%3A2334524|tkp%3ABFBMsuCO1-lf or https://amzn.to/3tnCjW4 -
Oh I've seen this. It's not because alder lake doesn't support MXM. It's because support for MXM in general is pretty much dead. Only a few companies providing nVidia Quadro MXM cards support it at this point. No idea how much longer that will go on but we got new Quadro Ampere based cards coming soon. Probably useless for X170 owners since they got 3080/3070 MXM cards already anyways. Seems every company has pretty much stopped making DTRs. Looks like X170 & Area-51m R2 were the last DTRs. I still plan to upgrade my M18xR2 to Quadro A4500 (RTX 3070) when they're released this year. Quadro MXM may be the only options for current users of DTRs.

As long as it is running in Optimus mode (60hz panel) or dGPU only (120hz) it will run. I think the 17 series by default on 60hz panel run in Optimus mode?
-
Go to your windows settings, search for graphics, there should be a option to choose which GPU to use per app. Add each app that does not use dGPU and select high performance gpu.
-
I'm sure @kenny27will be interested in your results since he also bought a MXM NVMe adapter like you
-
Wait how did intel kill MXM with alder lake? MXM is just PCIe so as long as the machine is either hooked up to the dGPU directly to the display or if there's a intel iGPU there should be Optimus support.

P4000 is a great GPU indeed especially at $200. Even now it can be found on eBay for $280. 1060 can surpass it since 1060 can be overclocked however. P4000 is locked otherwise it would have good potential. https://www.3dmark.com/compare/fs/26323934/fs/25466379/fs/16862474/fs/19775399/fs/4002945
-
AW 17 R1 can also run P4000 in SG (Optimus) mode using unlocked BIOS. Just wanted to clarify this. Congrats on the M17xR4, one of my favorite designs.

I don't see a "custom builds" section so I guess I'll just post this here. Sorry I don't have many pics on this one. They're old and I've changed a few things around. Specs: Corsair 900D CaseEVGA SR-2 Motherboard2x Intel Xeon X5675 CPUs48GB DDR3 1600Mhz RAM2 x 120GB SSD RAID02x Titan V1x Titan Xp1x RTX 3090 KINGPINEVGA 1600w G+ PSUWindows 11 The SR-2 was released in 2010: https://www.evga.com/articles/00537/ I was in high school at the time and dreamed of owning this motherboard. Truly one of EVGA's best design. I bought it last year actually. I looked everywhere for one and found someone on reddit local who was selling it since 2020. It was posted 9 months ago from my PM to the seller. Turns out he still had it and we made a deal on the SR-2, RAM, CPUs, Heatsinks and 900D case. GPUs are a bit overkill but for a system like this I couldn't resist. I use it remotely and wanted to find a way to allocate each GPU to a different VM and be able to game anywhere in the house using multiple computers. Unfortunately I don't game much so it was all more for fun lol. And to be honest all my laptops besides my mac has a gaming gpu lol.

I think A17+ is the latest one and should work well.

Alienware X14 Order or Release Date?

Internal panel. I don't use external on any of my laptops. -

ssj92 replied to ssj92's topic in Alienware X14 / 15 /17 / M15 / 17 R5+ 2021+
$2,184.23 after tax. I was only able to get $41 savings lol. Was hoping to get it at $2,000 after tax max. Might wait for now. My config is the i7 32gb ram, 512gb ssd, rtx 3060. Maybe I'll try another rep. I got $400 off on my Area-51m. Dude said laptop was just released but my Area-51m was also just released. Funny you mention this. I cannot perceive any input lag on my M18xR2 or AW 18 in Optimus mode. I think this was something more unique to that generation of laptops or the 13 itself. 13 did have input lag for sure. -
Everyone, its time to decide our brand!

My favorite GPU design 😍 I had two in SLI and then tried a third one back in the day. Maybe one of these days I'll pick two up for cheap and put them in a old rig for fun -
Alienware X14 Order or Release Date?
ssj92 replied to ssj92's topic in Alienware X14 / 15 /17 / M15 / 17 R5+ 2021+
I think the size is smaller than AW 13 R3. bezels are very thin. I agree on soldered RAM and LCD options but 1080p 400nits dolby vision and 99% P3 gamut is very good. It might be a mini led panel -
Here's some of my pics. Ignore the "milky way" one. I somehow added the wrong pic a long time ago and never noticed. My current gear: Celestron C11 on Celestron CGEM DX Mount Nikon 600mm F4E Lens ASI120MC for Planets Nikon D500/D700/D800/D850 for DSO Gear used in pics: Celestron C11 Celestron C9.25 Celestron C6 Newtonian Orion ED80 CF ASI120MC Canon T2i Nikon D800 Celestrn CGEM DX Mount Celestron Advanced VX Mount Unfortunately my CGEM DX mount is having issues right now. The firmware flashed failed and right now one of the motor firmware is corrupted. Trying to see if there's any chips on the board I can flash with programmer or if I need whole new board.

What phone are you daily driving currently?
ssj92 replied to Katja's topic in Mobile Devices & Gadgets
iPhone 13 Pro Max. Have literally owned every single Note series (except 7 for obvious reasons) and iPhone (except 5) series so now I am debating whether I want to try Android again with S22 Ultra. -
How many spinning hard drives do you have in your desktop?
ssj92 replied to Sandy Bridge's topic in Desktop Hardware
I have no HDDs in any of my computers except my main desktop. That computer also acts as a server for the others in a way. It has 2x Western Digital Red 8TB HDDs using Microsoft Storage Spaces mirror mode. If 8TB SSDs were cheaper I'd probably have all SSD only computers. -
I have Windows 11 on a few computers now: Alienware M14xR2 (unsupported by microsoft but you know how much more that makes me want to run it =D everything working fine) SR-2 desktop (2x Xeon 5675 CPUs, 48GB RAM, 4 GPUs, 2 PSUs, 2xSSD RAID0, no UEFI support, but everything works well LOL) Alienware Area-51m R1 (officially supported, all runs well) Alienware Aurora R4 desktop (officially supported [ see sig for specs] and it works well) My other laptops are still running 10. I use startisback on 10 and startallback on 11. No other way I'd use either OS. I'd love to dual boot 7 on some of these computers but most of them have ax200/ax210 wi-fi cards so I'd have to wi-fi.
-
I'm sure @kenny27 also wants this too but just to make sure, I wouldn't want to modify the chassis in any way to get new heatsinks to fit. One that fits right in without any mods to chassis would be my preferred one. Since you are getting the nvme raptor card it will be interesting to see if we can extend cpu heatsink and also cover raptor card or keep everything separate and get a heatsink to cover the raptor card itself

Donkey Kong 64 Pokemon Gold Version by far these are probably my fav and I have re-played them too many times
