    Looking for the following: 32GB (4x8GB) DDR3 (L or non L) 2133, 1866, or 1600Mhz. 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 (L or non L) 1866 or 1600Mhz. I'd prefer at least 1866Mhz but will do 1600Mhz if needed.     I think there was a post on NBR that talked about drivers without IRQ issues. Idk where it went, somewhere on the archive. It may help solve these sound issues.

    Ah I was wrong, it still has UEFI in the vBIOS. Interesting difference in vBios size too

    The one with FFFF values has the UEFI gop portion removed from vBIOS. This is what I have been trying to do with vBIOS editing to get newer GPUs working in older systems but for me it hasn't fully worked yet. Once I receive my older AW I will do more testing. There is probably a "proper" way to do it. Could you upload the vBIOS with FFF and the manufacturer one here so I can take a look?

    It looks like it is using the older MXM module. The newer 3.0b MXM module will not fit so you won't be able to use any modern gpu. You can always try OC using software as well if BIOS doesn't allow it.

    It's M17x the Core 2 Quad (Extreme) models before R2. They can be upgraded to the nice RGB display. However, GPU upgrade wise, you won't get far. As far as I remember (and looking at nbr achieve) we didn't even get 69xxM AMD GPU or 460M nVidia working (from my search). 5870M CF is fastest config for the M17x. You would be way better off getting an R2 which can do 8970M crossfire. Or M18xR2 which can do 980M SLI or any modern GPU in Optimus. Then again looking at this: https://www.nbrchive.net/xfa/alienware-17-and-m17x.1079/M17X R1 and K3000M/ K3000M and 680m may work?

    I'm in the process of ordering A4500. it has same exact design as RTX 5000 in terms of offset core so @kenny27 I put my hopes in you to build us a heatsink LOL

    The wire has middle pin to let laptop know it's 330w. When I had my previous 780w with dual outputs for area-51m r1, bios showed 2x 330x psus.

    AW 18 is limited to 330w. I have a 780w psu and cable coming so I'll be able to test this =D if I get an SLI system...lol

    Hi all, Is there still no nvflash version that supports flashing the rtx 2000/3000 series gpus? I wanted to flash a Quadro RTX 3000 (TU106) and I do have a programmer, but I heard that these need a signed vBIOS otherwise they get a black screen.

    Ah I need to find a way to port the swick M18xR1 module updates and microcode to M17xR3 bios. Also need to do same from M18xR2 swick bios to M17xR4. I don’t think those two got these updates

    Wait so did you modify heatsink at all? It fits into the slot even with offset core? Idk if this would work in m18x r2 or m17x series with their heatsinks

    I got mine I think around $640 shipped gaming is right on par with rtx 2060. Do you have a pic of which rtx 5000 you bought?

    Hey it's my video, LOL. There is no unlocked BIOS for this laptop. Only way to get it is to remove current PCH and replace with one that doesn't have boot guard. As far as I know there is no modded vBIOS for RTX 2080 unless someone finally modded it. You can undervolt it though. Go to my video above, look for my videos and look for GPU undervolting guide. I use my RTX 2080 I think in there. CPU can be OC using throttlestop, ALSO have a video on that LOL

    Did you have to modify heatsink to install this gpu? Have you made sure all components are properly covered with thermal pads? Too bad you're not in California, I was going to suggest meeting up and checking out the card. You could try it in your M18xR2 but it'll require heatsink mod and I doubt your M17x is the problem. I can try modifying vBIOS by lowering power and clocks but you can only flash using a programmer. Do you have a programmer? If not try using msi afterburner to undervolt the card and see if it helps with bsod.

    Just a follow up here, 3920/3940/2960/2920xm are fully unlocked 3840/3820qm have 4 additional turbo bins, but is same true for 2860/2820qm? finally is 3740/3720qm 2 or 4 turbo bins? Same goes for 2760/2720qm?
