I thought it was real and for some reason Will just lost it for a sec... but now that you said it, it makes so much more sense. I mean, if it would have been real, there would've been at least some form of duck/block/fight back from Chris Rock. He just took it like it's been rehearsed many times.

I figured the mouse part out myself last night. I'm using a Glorious Model O- and individual profiles with separate x/y sensitivity can be set. We're good on that front but it still looks like NMS just doesn't like me anymore. Tried to start a new playthrough a few times but it keeps crashing on my every time when I get close to the tutorial ship... will poke at it some more today.

I wanted to jump in No Man's Sky for a fresh playthrough. It's been quite a few major updates since I last played it so it's about time. it's good to see more settings available in the menu but I'm having some trouble with the mouse. I like playing low res (full mousepad swipe turns my character only 180 degrees). If I set it this low in NMS, vertical sensitivity gets way too low. Is there any way to set a vertical multiplier or change the parity? If not in NMS menu/config files, is there some sort of 3rd party option which could do this only when playing one game?

Oh yeah, I loved Super Mario World too. So many cool secret places and paths...

I've played with SNES9X a lot but this was some years ago. Not sure about the current situation. I might look into this again. Loved the Donkey Kong series.

I haven't read any reviews of Death Stranding but I'm sure you remember how highly I spoke of it when it came out. Graphics was amazing and the gameplay/story/music is like no other game out there. If I were to guess what's going to happen, I'd say you're either going to love it as soon as you take control of the character or you're going to hate it. I don't know why, I just feel it's a very polarizing game. I want to pick it up again really bad but so far I've been distracted with other stuff. I played it, I'd estimate, about half - 3/4 of the story. I was really into it and to be honest I don't know why I suddenly stopped playing. Most likely some other game came out. Oh yeah, I do remember I was slightly mad that one of the NPCs I liked died. Won't spoil details. I did read about the director's cut which is out now but if I resume playing, I'll just continue the original one. I'm not sure I want to pay $10 for what's essentially a patch with some minor gameplay improvements.

How long does an application of LM usually last? Should I be worried about my laptop? It's been almost 3 years since a haven't taken this apart.

Thanks! Yeah, that was unchecked. I had assumed I followed it automatically since I created it.- 18 replies

introduction Microsoft Office - Free Alternatives

Thanks for the tips! I was actually just reading about LibreOffice when I remembered to check back here. For some reason the forum didn't show me any notifications of replies here.- 18 replies

I don't think I could've chosen two more random ones, lol. The bar song from Disco Elysium and ...Bushes of Love

If there would be one single VR experience to recommend it has to be Alyx. Borrow/buy/find a VR set and try Alyx. Nothing currently out comes even close. Graphics, immersion, atmosphere, story, gameplay - as much as I hate this term, Alyx really is a game changer. Also, as mentioned above, high mobility is not a requirement at all. I did my first playthrough sitting at my desk in a small space. I did bang the controllers on the desk/wall a few times but mainly when throwing stuff in-game. One downside, if I can call it this, is that after finishing Alyx, for a good while I didn't want to even touch any other game.

I guess this depends a lot on the environment you have at work. I had a previous job, many years ago, where I'd work in a large office with about 10 folks and we were getting along great. We'd go to lunch together and genuinely had a good time at work. This was at a large corporation back in Europe. Here in the US, in the same field, similar large corp, I found it's quite different. I used to go daily to the office here as well up until about 4 years ago but could only really connect with a very small number of people and never got any further. The world of IT here is very different from what's in EU. I found that here I'm much happier and more efficient working from home, on my own terms. I do miss human contact and random social gatherings but given the choice, until I find a different job, I'm staying home.

I am. This is the only game I ended up using some mods. I only chose the ones that sort of made sense and took a bit of pain and grind away. Had one for inventory stacking increased limits, for take-off fuel requirement, one to allow ships to fly closer to the ground and I think something for the converter to work faster. Wondering if any of these would still work in the present release...

Last one, I'm going to bed. I'll be half asleep during the morning meetings...

Discovered LP only recently but it's one of those rare occasions where I instantly liked quite a few of the songs (Wasted Love, Lost on You)

Oh thanks for reminding me of these. This used to be very high on my playlist back about 15 years ago. I'm gonna go listen to these now. Teardrop and Karmacoma were also there 😉

We have tickets for their concert in Dallas this May. I'm beyond excited. We've seen them live a few years ago and it was an absolutely amazing experience. Everyone on the whole stadium had those light up bracelets and they were remote controlled, they'd change color and frequency to match the songs. Everyone should experience this kind of show once!

Hei guys! Can I get some help in finding a free option to view and minimally edit doc/xls files? Backstory: my wife wants to do some work stuff on her personal laptop temporarily. I'd really rather not pay for Office 365/2021, also not a fan of the pirated version of these so an opensource free alternative would be the way to go. I really dislike the usual "here's the top 10 greatest office software" sites and I don't trust most of those. I'd much rather hear from the community, if there's anyone else using something like this. Thanks!

That's actually not a bad idea. Started looking for something more relaxing to play these days. I don't feel like starting Elden Ring and neither CP2077. Kinda out of ideas and I have been a huge No Mans Sky fan. I also used to be extremely angry at them for that mess of a launch with all the lies. Considering the "scale" of the game, I didn't play it that much, Steam says I have a little over 100 hours in. Back when I used to play it I wasn't in it for the story too much, I sort of made up my thing. Favorite pass-time was finding cheesy ways to make loads of money and searching for exotic ships. Then after one update I got mad at them again when they introduced that stupid converter which essentially is just an artificial way to force players to grind...

I'm 39 (will probably keep saying this next year too, lol) and if I think of the first ever games I played, I can still completely vividly hear the theme of Jack The Nipper 2 on Commodore 128. There are a handful other games too that I played for many many hours but I can't remember their names.

So to keep this discussion going with myself 🙂 After grinding a few more levels I finally decided to start the game properly and finished the prologue. Now time flows normally, nights come, I have missions and a whole bunch of DLC stuff is available. I also switched back to normal difficulty with the idea to have fun rather then keep dying. Either way, I was feeling way too overpowered with all the extra levels and weapons I had found. Since I have the prison heist DLC which was new to me, I decided surely it must be a good idea to go check it out right at the start of the game. I do have power level at 10 so I wasn't worried. This was a mistake, lol As soon as I started it, I got my behind handed to me big time. After wasting all the ammo I had gathered during my prologue shenanigans, I got the the room with the volatiles and now I'm properly stuck there. There's no way I'm killing all these with my current loadout so no way to unlock the door at the end... I'll just have to sheepishly back out and re-visit this later.

New toy for the new car. It'll be the first upgrade to the car which should arrive in a few weeks. Currently on a ship in the Atlantic... 😎

Nope, couldn't do it. Fired it up last night and really honestly had the intention to finish the prologue just to properly start the game... but whacking zombies is so much fun in Dying Light 1. Also discovered that if using the Korek Machette, even after its durability reaches 0, it can still chop off heads in 2 hits at this stage. With that said, back to the big bridge. I keep going back to that big bridge because it's always packed full of zombies and there's also loads of goodies on the cut-off section, you just need to very carefully climb on the big cables. There's a cool bottleneck section with spikes on the ground. I'd go there, crouch and whack off zombies feet to watch them fall and get impaled. It was glorious. My next mission is to go back to this cut-off bridge section today and try to reach the end on nightmare difficulty. There are about 5 police vans and I read that on nightmare there's a small change to get legendary weapons. Maybe we'll start the game after this 🙂
