  1. Not sure still, but I'll try to get it soon and then I will see how it goes
  2. I currently reside in Ireland It is more of an assumption on my side really, from what I saw online 40-series GPU with 4-th gen Intel does actually work, although Above 4G gives some performance benefits.
  3. Great. Now 4800MQ doesn't like RAM slot B, if there is a stick there - RAM error.
  4. This means that I have to find someone who fixes that CPU and get a 4050 MXM, old 4800MQ and M5100 go back in for now
  5. So I have some horrible news guys. I have ordered an empty M4800 LA-9772P for 15 Euro (no CPU, GPU, RAM, storage, screen). I moved all of those things from my main machine, and installed some eDP screen from Lenovo for now. Because the new frame was untouched and wasn't worn in - that custom GPU heatsink from cicichen went in very snuggly, which I should l have noticed straight away. It tore a ceramic capacitor out of a T1000. Another pin from i7 4980HQ went missing, I guess it stayed in my old motherboard's socket. Laptop tries to boot into windows but fails, it had a WHEA BSOD before. I tried to salvage some pins from an old Socket M Pentium and now it goes to the login screen and shuts down.
  6. From what I understand it will work, but it is not required. I am still trying to find a way to do it though.
  7. I saw cases when there would be all 4 slots working, and it is usually on those ones that have a green interposer. Don't take my word on it tho, it is still a lottery. Mine has a black interposer and also has one pin missing after it was shipped, luckily it either wasn't used or it is not a critical pin.
  8. I am thinking, what if I get an LA-9772P mobo, different screen and manage to get an RTX 4050 MXM, would that work? Ofc, I will disable integrated graphics, I am just not sure if it would work, because some people say it will only run in optimus mode and some say that it will work straight away, but you won't see anything until Windows finishes booting up.
  9. UPDATE 10 (What a number!!): -Installed an i7 4980HQ and (sadly) removed 2 sticks of RAM, now it is 16 GB in total
  10. I've tried that, it didn't work, managed to get my hands on one of those screwdrivers, everything is flawless now, i7 4980HQ mutant is now installed, one missing pin didn't really do anything bad, from what I see.
  11. It is either a dying CPU or it is not seated properly, I don't have that tiny awful Torx screwdriver to check right now..
  12. My M4800 doesn't want to boot when RAM sticks are inserted into B and C slots, I am so exhausted. This happened after the CPU repaste.
  13. Try this, I hope it works out for you, I can try to send some Techpowerup ones but I am not sure if it will work properly DELL_AMD_Radeon_Pro_WX4150_updGOP.rom
  14. I'll search around slav forums to see if there is any other VBIOS
  15. Okay then, maybe I'll do it one day, I just don't want to touch Linux, ever, I've had enough
  16. Can you provide the ROM/flash files? I can do it right now, I made a quick access for my BIOS + ME chips in the laptop's frame so I can do it fast with my CH341A v1.7
  17. Uh, I never really saw any 1050 Ti vBIOSes, maybe you can find some on TechPowerUp database? I am going to look for some in my free time.
  18. Coreboot? On M4800? Jeez.. I didn't think that it can be done
  19. I don't know how that will work, but if I were you - I would use Hiren's Boot CD on a flash drive to flash the VBIOS
  20. At this point I am sure you know how to use ATIFlash and you have backups. From what I can tell - this VBIOS is unlocked for overclocking, I have updated GOP just in case, I hope it works out nicely Baffin_mod.rom Baffin_mod_updGOP.rom
  21. I looked through - I guess it will be better if I find a VBIOS myself, I know russian
  22. Yep, sadly, I guess Google Translate is an option
  23. I think someone on 4PDA forum was modding it some time ago, look for M4800 thread there.
  24. I also looked at Quadro RTX 3000 pictures and I don't think that it actually protrudes that much on the sides. Some heatsink parts need small cuts (I guess eSATA port will need to be cut/removed too) . Still, I need to get one first just to be sure. And even so - 80W is just extreme, I don't feel comfortable about it lol
  25. Sadly it is still locked, that's a thing with those modern quadros, I tried to flash all kinds of VBIOS-es, desktop 1650-s, mobile 1650-s. It always fails, even with modified nvflash utility. I will probably try to do it again when I do something with it when I fiddle around with the heatsink, but with external programmer.
