The vapor chamber must be properly machined with the milling machine. Why didn't you buy the RTX3080? The price is affordable and my adapters work specifically for this series of cards. RTX30xx! Hi, I sat down and developed a holder for the GTX10xx-RTX30xx for the P870DMG! Until now, it was always a bit difficult to convert because of the holder of the new generations. So I can repeat it again. The adapters were developed by me and are now in their 3rd version. If you want to know something about it, you can write to me here by e-mail:-) Since the RTX30xx MXM came out, my adapters have been running and I have been constantly improving them.

It is very unlikely that AMD or Intel will do something that Nvidia does not! It has to do with the monetary system. It's about selling laptops that are good for one generation and then in the next generation everyone has to buy new laptops in order to have new laptops. Clevo was the last big manufacturer in the HIGH-END sector. Clevo has also submitted because they are forced by contract. Laptops like the P870xx or X170xx or P775xx were the best examples that it is no problem to develop something like this! There are currently only soldered boards! I can hardly imagine that it will be any different in the medium term. The financial pressure is too great. That was also the reason why I thought the idea of the MXM-PCIe adapter was so cool and developed everything. My electronic kit has been developed so far. I have currently made a 3rd version to test things out. On the whole, however, everything works stably. There are still a few things to test and redesign, but basically it works. Theoretically, the CPU socket with adapter for 13th/14th Gen HX Intel can also be developed. That would be cool, but the 9900K/KS is still good for gaming. Besides, I don't want to venture into such an adventure at the moment, I'd rather finish the MXM-PCIe adapter first:-)

Once again for clarification: In order to install the RTX3080/70/60 MXM in the P870xx, the mounting between the heatsink and the graphics card must of course be modified. As everyone now knows, the mounting holes of the RTX30xx MXM are no longer identical to those of the RTX20xx/RTX20xxSuper/GTX10xx/GTX9xx MXM series! I have developed adapters especially for the Vapourchamber which have been working for a good 2 years in the 3 version. Of course, the Vapourchamber must also be machined accordingly with the milling machine. This whole topic motivated me to develop it myself because the Vapourchamber is the best air cooling system for laptops. Of course, the other heatsinks that have come out for the RTX20xx / GTX10xx also work. But with the Vapourchamber, the P870xx is the best cooled laptop ever at maximum gaming performance. Only water cooling is better, of course! Addition: I have now also perfected the bios detection of the RTX30xx series. Many thanks to RUNIX for the tips. You don't have to have it, but it's nice if you know how:-) I can leave a picture to see what the Vapourchamber with 2x RTX3080 in the P870xx looks like. But that was just a test because of SEMI-SLI. We will see. In any case, this card has slightly different pin assignments for certain pins. Of course you can mod the motherboard again. Probably nobody will buy this card for a Clevo model and it will all come to nothing. Of course, 16 lanes won't work in the P870xx either. P.S: If you want, you can send me this card and see how I can get it to work in the P870xx!!!

This increase is relatively unlikely. Maybe a third of it. Then there is the question of compatibility! A lot has to be done on the hardware side. I am in communication with the company regarding the problems!

Hi, the part costs about 1400 USD without taxes and shipping with everything together 1500-1600USD! I'm curious to see who will be the first to get this card. You can't push the price of the card down because it doesn't come from Clevo. Smaller quantities etc... Secondly, the MXM pins are not all the same as on Clevo. A display cannot be switched on and various other pins are different. The 3.3V supply is also slightly different. So it's all a bit more work and only a test will show what works :-) Someone can send me the card for testing:-) Greetz from Germany

So if it only works in Windows, this is a sign of the routing of the Displayport lanes from some component. Probably in the display. You can only buy another one! I don't know the display(NE173QHM-NY7) but AUO would be better!

The standard bios works without problems with the RTX30xx series!!! You don't necessarily need a modified bios!It only looks nice in the Bios menu, otherwise not 🙂

You underestimate the Vapour cooling system. It has the best transport of power loss. There is certainly always room for improvement. The Vapour is at least the best choice for good cooling...

Hi, the best air cooling system is the Vapourchamber! I have already shown many pictures in the forum how the RTX30xx series performs in the P870xx. I have developed adapters with which you can keep the original cooling and install the RTx30xx. I am the only one in the world who has made such adapters. Or you can buy water cooling from AliExpress if it's still available! Regards

It is true that certain pins are the same, but there are also some pins that can be freely selected by the manufacturer. This is not quite so simple...

No MXM cards are planned from Clevo. Perhaps there are other manufacturers, but then there is again the question of compatibility. VBios, pin configuration etc...
