They could relase only the 4090 to take of some of the thunder from AMDs new overpriced cards. No need to release 4080 when they know they have lots of Ampere silicon. Just try sell out all 3080 and release 4080 together with 4080@12GB-Scam 4070Ti early spring. Whats the point throw out 30-50.000 of 4080 to the retail shops only to fill up the shelves? If people don't buy them, Nvidia have to sell them at discount before or later. But there is a few stupids out there that is willing to pay mining prices, so...... -

Mostly greed. Regarding Cpu prices.... AMD went damn greedy when Intel couldn't compete with amount cores. They was the first one to push mainstream chip up to $799. Yep, MSRP and AMD. Back in 2020 when AMD pushed out their 5950X the inflation was normal. So 90% greed and 10% inflation. Nvidia know AMD can't compete in features, hence they continue push ugly prices after the mining crash. And AMD know they can't surpass 1000$ price point so there they will be. They are happy they can play the same game as Nviidia without doing much (maximize profits). Nvidia could raise the prices with 15-20%. Not +70% as they did from 3080 to 4080. Thats greed. $699+20% = 838$. Not 1,199$ (Nvidia could sell it at $799,99 and still made good profits). And all the 4080 would sell out. Every single card. This isn't inflation. This is pure greed! -

And RTX 4070 Ti will be slower than both Radeon RX 7900 GPUs. What saves Nvidia's skin is the better features like RT. This card should never cost above 649$. This included the awful high inflatation. But AMD is also to blame for the awful new price points. 7900XT should be priced at $650. And nvidia will follow what AMD have done with the XT variant. To you all..... I hope the New Year will be better🙂 2nd in Enthusiast Season ranking 2022. Not bad with the old stuff. Papusan @ HWBOT -

Finally had some time test more with the fans from HELL. From what I can see... They provide almost nothing in increased cooling performance if you run they at full speed (4000rpm) vs lowering the speed down to 3000rpm or 3/4 of its rated speed. This just show they are not that quite power efficient above a certain speed. All they provide with max rpm is a faster cool down after full load and a hell lot more noise. Server fans in a PC chassis is not the best experience. They could of course do a good job in Dells overpriced Alienware gaming desktops who already have awful and inadequate cooling. But for me... Stamp = Failed. Amazing noisy and screamy compared to EK-Furious Vardar FF5-120 (3000rpm) or Noctua NF-F12 iPPC-3000 PWM fans. Yep, a very special noise sound compared to my favorite fans above. -

Everything come at a price, brother. I bought a big Bacon Burger and 1/2L Coke on the gas station in the middle Christmas holidays. 238 Nok for the burger and 60 Nok for the Coke. kr298.00 = 30.50 USD Source: https://nok.currencyrate.today/convert/amount-298-to-usd.html Then do your math.... 238,- for the burger will be.... 28,71 USD🤢 Any higher at the gas station? Then multiply that by 4 for those who were in the car. More like 122,00 USD for 4 burgers and 4 Coke on the go. My gosh -

The main difference... Nvidia will go after the performance crown... How they do it, doesn't matter. AMD is here to make most profits. Max possible performance will come second or last. More sucky workmanship Asus bro @Mr. Fox New has to be better. Always. And Apex board is Asus OC boards for the bot. Want to bench SLI then Asus say.... Too old tech. And they still offer the old fashion PS2 connectors on the MB's I/O for installing older OS's from +12 years ago, LOOOL All cards here whatever brand have 5 years warranty. So what brand I buy doesn't matter for the warranty. Thanks. What with text and small details in games. 4K will suck for me. And with a smaller monitor below 29" it will make it even harder. 4K have its place. On my wall as main tv. -

I switched to second bios and flashed a new firmware. The newer version on bios 1 can’t be rolled back. Asus sucks hard… https://www.overclock.net/threads/official-asus-strix-maximus-z690-owners-thread.1794802/post-29104615 At least you know what to get from Asus.... The improvements come in v2004. The newest withdrawn v2301 from the server was meant to tune it further but Asus drag it too far with more bugs, LOOL The flashing went well and got back into bios then loaded bios default. I didn’t got the time to press enter and restart before the damn power blow out in the area and here home. Now sitting in the dreaded dark. 2 minutes earlier and I would sit with a bricked machine (2nd bios). Yep, flashing firmware in stormy Norwegian winter weather here home without a UPS is risk sport😁 The electricity is back now. This happens a lot here during the winter. All use a lot electricity to heat up their homes due the hard climate here. The machine booted up as expected. Two days ago I flashed 3 firmware versions for my sons new machine. This board have only one bios. No backup chips. But the version I flashed last will keep him up until his next platform upgrade. So works very well. Thanks god it wasn’t his machine I worked with now. Yep, with Asus messed up bios updates you’ll need a second bios chips because they avoid put a proper upgrade change log. Beta bios or the official one… All sucks!!! Sadly all brands sucks nowadays. None offer awesome. -

Yep, different times now. Nvidia lead the direction. They offer same max TGP now for the FE edition as the best custom cards. They even offer higher TGP than what many of the AIC partners offer for their cheaper SKUs. I need find more reviews as thiis with several models against each other https://www.tweaktown.com/articles/10228/nvidia-geforce-rtx-4090-oc-shootout-asus-colorful-fe-msi-gainward/index.html Yep, If I keep the card and games being more taxing and we get faster processors I can see 1440P will match 4090 better. Maybe max out everything for now. But I need to take a look how 4K in 27” size match my eyes before I determine what to do . I have 60 days return policy for my new screen. The more potent of the well known brands OC editions is easier to sell used and this will reduce my losses vs. going for the cheapest non oc editions. So not much gaining go for the non oc edition if the price difference is minimal (100$). And the design will also count in for my second try on 4090. The Msi 4090 X Liquid had a very nice design. But as I already mentioned, it will be a aircooled card this time. Thanks to you both🙂 -

Thanks. I want G-sync, to be able to sell it later in the used market. Easier to sell it for a good price. I buy new tech people want in the used market to reduce the loss. And I doubt I will save much money without it. I think 1440P is perfect. I have put up my sons system with the same monitor (we both bough the same due me wanted it and got the great deal). And jup, my son just had to listening on old pa, LOOL. And I really really like it. But then, he bought the weaker 3070 and not an 4090. I struggle to find monitors above 170hz in 1440P with or without G-sync. And most of the reviews of gaming monitors is with G-sync. Very high refresh monitors is mostly 1080P. And I won't go back to this. I hate curved screeens. I really really do. And the curved monitors with the special low but long design is awful. Have tested those in the shops. Huge nope from me. Thanks. I asked because many reviews say 4090 is a waste with 1440P. But I prefer monitors below 30" in size and 4K is probably worse to look at due my old eyes. Can't have everything in this world. 4K and easy to see all text. Even smaller details (in pict) etc will be a problem. Here is the different G-Sync screens Nvidia have on their page.... https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/products/g-sync-monitors/specs/ Me want only 27-29" and with G-sync and maximum high refresh at 1440P (4K). If I swap out the 1440P I have now it has to be with real G-sync or and with higher refresh rate. Same for 4K screen but minimum 144hz and real G-sync. If I can't reach those goals I will keep what I bought. And if the other monitor options will be too expensive then I will as well keep what I bought. Why non OC editions? Due the price? I like to thinker with performance, maybe not the best options for me then. And I won't save much money here home between non OC and the OC editions. -

Got the confirmation today. The refund have come from the MSI 4090 I sent back. Sent it in 18. Dec and it took 11 days. So all good. Now the hunt is started again after a new 4090. As from my post above... I have still the ASUS ROG Strix XG27AQ monitor in the package. A very good monitor from what I have seen in reviews. I have a few questions to the gamers... @Talon @electrosoft @johnksss This monitor I bought is an G-sync compatible. Not a real G-sync screen with the nvidia chips. I will pair it with an 4090. Is 1440P ok to use with the card or do I need a 4K screen to have benefits from 4090? Is 4090 overkill for 1440P? I expect newer games at 1440P 3 years down the road will tax 4090 more than with todays games. I feel 1440P may be the better choice for me. And above 30" is too big. Hence the questions. If you suggest 4K screen at 27-28", what screen to buy and with come with full G-sync. What 1440P 27-28" screen to select with full G-synk. Not only G-sync compatible. And of course refresh Rate at minimum 144Hz. Faster is better especially with 1440P. Or maybe you suggest that I keep the monitor I already bought. Got it for a very good deal... 449$ included the awful Norwegian tax. The price would be around 340$ without the taxes. I mean this a very great price. But lack full G-sync. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Second. I returned my MSI 4090 liquid X. I really liked the card, but prefer air cooling for a fast swap between different cards (my hobby). What to select. Not much choices of 4090 here home. And FE is a no go. Hence I'll ask for 3 options you would vote for. Not so sure the Zotac boat is the design I want. But put it in if you feel to do that. The best cooling is important. Thanks. -

It seems Azor's former job at Dell gaming division, have big influence on AMD🤮 He is already come a long way make his name in stone at AMD HQ. Remember what AMD said... No need for a huge cooler or the new 600w Nvidia power connector as Nvidia because we go with a more power efficient GPU design and can cut costs due our engineering decision for the GPU reference design. And due the lower GPU's TGP we can now do "cost cutting" on the mounting on the GPU cooler. The shorter time each fabric worker spend on each card.... More profits to AMD. On AMD's own Reddit page, nero1338 writes that he tried to make a warranty claim on his Radeon RX 7900 XTX, but that it was denied by AMD, who in an email reply briefly stated that "temperatures are normal". Barely a day after the post was published, an AMD employee contacted the user and wrote that they wanted to examine the graphics card, whereupon nero1338 was asked to send it to AMD's office in Canada. AMD denies warranty case on overheating Radeon RX 7900 XTX Graphics card yesterday 14:13 Users report that their Radeon RX 7900 XTX tops out at 110 degrees, the fan runs high, and performance drops. It is currently not known what AMD is doing to curb the problems and whether they will start accepting RMA cases on the Radeon RX 7900 XTX that uses the company's reference design MBA. Worth noting is that the owner of an RX 7900 XTX does not need to worry about the high temperatures, as the worst that happens is that the clock frequencies are lowered precisely to prevent overheating and that the hardware is damaged. 110 °C is certainly the limit of what a chip can be expected to do. The performance is already throttled here, which of course is unacceptable for a card that costs more than 1,000 euros. Unfortunately, our samples have not yet had such high values. Apparently only the MBA designs are affected - regardless of whether they are sold directly by AMD or by a board partner. The cards run off the same assembly line anyway. Nice. Just remove the reply/thread from the Hwbot forum without notice and no one will know what happened. And no one will know how flawed the validation software can be. -

I don't upgrade every year so I can't say I feed Nvidia with loads of money time after time again. So I'm good. 1800$ / 4 years for a 4090 is more like $450 a year. I spend more money on the rest of the PC platforms or my car each year. But I don't want to pay +-1000$ on a mid high end card. New or old doesn't matter. Thats too stupid. Either go all in for the top of the line and keep it for awhile or just see if you can find a cheap old used. Even real gamers can have fun with the not so new. This way, we would see Nvidia and AMD had to change their price policy. Low or almost no sales of products will force a change. -

What nvidia have done now is to increase MSRP for the absolute cheapes cards (FE). There is different types "sheeple". Pay +1200$ for a card that should be priced at max $800 is somewhat different. Want to see some more funny? RTX 4080 seems to not have ECC support in their drivers. I expect the same for the rest of the new 4000 series graphics cards as well. And the new rules at the bot will become even more difficult to handle/understand. How shall they be able to take the "cheaters" if you can't show that ECC is enabled with 4000 series cards? All the top end cards from Nvidia will use same type GDDRX VRAM but only the 4090 have the "cheaters" settings in NCCP/drivers. This just show that Nvidia have created a real bastard graphics card in 4090. https://hwbot.org/submission/5152007_dejo_3dmark___port_royal_geforce_rtx_4080_19168_marks -

Yes. We finished everything throughout the night. Helped him with some needed software and the full driver install. So everything is ready before the Windows activation and patches. Now it’s his job forwards make sure that the Redmond mafia don’t screw up his new system. Last picture I’ll post from the finished results. A nice and clean setup and with handpicked parts from me 🙂 Amazing we could make a full custom loop with a nice and big D5 pump + a thicker radiator inside this chassis. The only parts he needs now is buying a new keyboard (we use a cheap spare KB for the setup and testing). And he will need a couple of extra ssd’s for storage and backups. Very nice living right outside the bigger cities. Especially with kids. And cleaner air and easy access to the nature with the small lakes and forests. But very hard winters with limited daylight hours. Yesterday on Christmas Eve the weather was fantastic. Topped out at 10 minus and quiet weather. Today… Snowstorm and the power grid is out. Everything damn dark and only a phone can be used until the battery runs out. Can be like this several hours/days so not so fun. Bro @Etern4l I have looked on the quality from Corsair 1500i and compared. My honest opinion. My be quiet! Dark Power Pro 12 1500W Power Supply feels so much better in quality. Higher quality finish, from the packaging box, to the whole unit and the cables. In short... Everything feels better. On another level.
