Messaging app Signal will block Windows Recall from taking chat screenshots WTF?! Recall is shaping up to be a security and privacy nightmare – and one of the most popular messaging platforms is already trying to patch the hole. Signal's developers are now resorting to a "weird trick" involving Windows DRM to shield users from unwanted Microsoft surveillance.

Very smart done by Jonny Guru and his team mates at Corsair. The new 2025 refresh of the HX1500i continue to have two 2×8 cables on the power supply side of the 12v-2*6 cables. No tiny junk will be connected to the PSU shroud. Clever done. Why change that just works @Mr. Fox?😎 2x PCIe 5.1 (12V-2×6) 650mm connectors (two 2×8 cables on the power supply side) Review: Corsair HX1500i Power Supply (Model 2025) Hmmm. PSUs for more than 1x5090 is the big now. Innovation at it's best. When aRGB ain't enough to trick you into pay more. Same as with modern AIOs. A small screen on everything to increase the prices. V-Color puts displays on memory modules tomshardware.com Of course, screens on the side of memory modules add to the cost, but since they represent a unique feature, enthusiasts will likely be willing to pay extra to have it. -

I Expect Nvidia need all defective/cutdown GB202 they can find for a possible 5090DD for China market. If that's the case not even sure we will see 5080Ti. And if they do the 5080Ti they will certainly be +-1600$. Maybe the 5080 will live aside the 5080 Super (to be able to offer a $1000 card). Or the whole range need a mid cycle upgrade if Nvidia put the 5080 Super closer to $1200. Nvidia need the $1000 card to compete with AMDs 9070XT. If we don't see a real upgrade as etc xx70Ti Super priced $899. Nice... The Wireview need a fan now. -

Not much of an upgrade. More vram is welcome but the rest is the same. Will probably come with an increased price. But with this refresh Nvidia have made room for the 5090DD for China and a possible 5080Ti RTX 5080 Super rumored with 24GB of memory — Same 10,752 CUDA cores as the vanilla variant with a 400W+ TGP -

Hmmm. Have seen more melted yellow tip MSI adapters than you see from Cablemod this gen. The nice thing with the yellow tip from MSI ... You can easly see if the connector have been overheated😁 But only if you disconnect the 12v-2*6 connector. Or haven't it fully plugged it in. Brown it will be anyhow. @tps3443 maybe the whole connector should be yellow so you could spot a possible color change before it's too late? You won't get melted power connectors with the new 8GB card from Nvidia. Does that mean a better purchase?🙂 -

FACEPALM Nvidia's RTX 5060 launch and the erosion of independent GPU reviews This situation is a wake-up call. As tech enthusiasts, we rely on honest coverage to guide our purchases. We must demand transparency and support outlets that prioritize truth over marketing. Because if this trend continues unchecked, the next generation of gamers might find themselves drowning in polished PR, without even realizing they're being sold a fantasy. Yup, the Asus Gold Edition looks much cleaner. The MSI card look disgusting in that color scheme. If it wasn't for the Titanium material it shouldn't cost more than the vanilla Suprim model. -

As expected. MSI take an Asus. But not a Lighning card. But still with Gold coating to try increase profits further. How much will MSI lift the prices above the vanilla Suprim? $500 ? A great price point would be around $3800 to maximize greed. Or are $4000 too much bro @Mr. Fox😎 MSI unveils GeForce RTX 5090 SUPRIM TITANIUM EDITION -

In fact, Nvidia allow their partners to implement 2x12V-2*6 connectors for their graphics cards. But I expect they don't want due higher costs. -

Me? Have tested it. But the fan control on the Astral is total wacko with the Gigabyte vbios. Only useful if you have a waterblock for the card. But not bad with the 600W power cap https://www.3dmark.com/pr/3411290 Edit. What a beauty. But it will most likely be a downscaled/castrated card for China. If this info is correct from Manly, then expect the Black Edition of xx90 HOF will be an hefty downgrade. More like 5090DD. Yet, a damn pretty one. Just wait. The Chinese will put all work into making the 5090FE work with 48GB vram. And they will hack the firmware/make custom nvflash that will work. Some will do it. Be you sure. Maybe with xx60 series we will see the same also for all AIB cards (you are stuck with what you bought). We already see some of it today (problems cross-flash some of the AIB cards). -

Hmmm. Very dry but still leak out from the card once the temps go up (vertical mount). Will the Gigabyte mods (shills) put up a Putty leak Megatread? And will Gigabyte accept it ? Or can it further destoy Gigabyte's reputation? China is a huge market for 5090(D). This could mean better availability of 5090's in other regions. Because around 30% of all made xx90(D) will be removed from the China market. And less shortage means more normal prices as well. Nice. Expect lower performance even up to 14th gen Intel Core processors. Me upgrading firmware? Nope. I'm still on the older 9905. And if the processor die or degrade I just ask for a new one. Or my money back. Maybe Gigabyte should deny repair/RMA if you confirm to them that you have used your GPU in vertical mount?😁 Remember Gigabyte is damn happy to use their stickers with the fat big red arrow stamped. -
Nice. Spectre CPU bug returns to haunt Intel processors again. Expect lower performance even with 14th gen Intel Core processors. New Intel CPU flaws leak sensitive data from privileged memory The firmware-level mitigations introduce a 2.7% performance overhead, while software mitigations have a performance impact between 1.6% and 8.3%, depending on the CPU.

Gigabyte said just clean it off. Sure, maybe do it weekly as a part of the maintenance/check for signs of melted trash connectors. In the end it will be no more putty on the components. This will hunt Gigabyte's reputation and RMA cost will increase within the cards support warranty period (Gigabyte offer 4 years if you register your card). Good they have larger margins due disgusting prices above MSRP. Yep, cost saving on the paste, gel and the job will in the end cost them more than what they saved/jacked up prices. Payback time for greed. And sad for the owners that need to send in their cards for RMA due badly executed job on the thermal concept (again due greed) on overpriced graphics cards. Gigabyte leaky GPU problem continues, here's the thermal putty creep in action Gigabyte's so-called "Server-Grade Thermal Conductive Gel" and a degrading thermal paste on the RX 9070 Gaming OC | Test Lab Finally, there's the bitter aftertaste that Gigabyte apparently prefers to bask in the comforting haze of buzzy buzzwords like "server-grade thermal conductive gel" instead of simply developing a well-thought-out overall thermal concept. The fact that they opted for viscous paste with questionable long-term performance instead of proven PTM pads, precisely where thermomechanical stability is essential—namely, directly on the sensitive GPU die—seems not only unwise but almost cynical in retrospect. -
