  1. Two different flaws. Samsung have been tight lipped about the ongoing 980 Pro problems. Not good for the sales bro Electro. More competition in the ssd sales. So, bad publicity will hamper the sales. Even at Pudgetsystems. Better be quiet as long as possible.
  2. It goes this way when you use newest chapo consumer tech. Samsung Pro drives have always used MLC nand for their procumer drives. Not anymore. Not so sure the other brads ssd's is so much better. They all use same cheapo tech. Always have a backup. Now more important than ever... Macrium Reflect 8.1 (8.1.7336) with improvements and newer Windows PE 10 released [Update]: And 8.0.7279 Free version [Update 01/30/2023]: After Macrium had withdrawn the first version 8.1, version 8.1.7336 of Macrium Reflect has now been released. The release notes are identical to version 8.1.7280. Below are the links to it.
  3. Be sure you have latest firmware if you have an Samsung 980 Pro and never used Samsung Magician software or never have updated the firmware. At least check the firmware version you have. Several different tools can be used for this (you don't need Samsung Magician to check the firmware version). Samsung Issues Fix for Dying 980 Pro SSDs. More info in my new thread below...
  4. Samsung Magician 7.2.1 (7.2.1.980) as new version good Morning January 30, 2023 Briefly informed: Samsung has updated its own software Samsung Magician for monitoring and checking the SSDs. The new version is 7.2.1 (7.2.1.980). The last update came in early October 2022. The installer was digitally signed on January 16, 2023 Information and Download: samsung.com/ samsung.com/Samsung_Magician_7_2_1_Installation_Guide.pdf If there are problems with the download: Samsung_Magician_installer_Official_7.2.1.980.zip (HiDrive) Of course Samsung was forced to push out new re-hashed software with new lipstick. Their Pro disks ar dying. Not only the newest Samsung 990 Pro is riddled with problems. Their previous gen Pro drives are dying with older firmware. So be sure you have installed latest firmware. Samsung's QC and quality have dropped as a stone in Mariana Trench. They really should stop branding their best ssd's with the Pro moniker. All they produce now is cheapo consumer junk. Nothing smells like "Pro" anymore. Critical Samsung SSD Firmware Update Posted on January 31, 2023 by Pudgetsystems.com Chris Newhart What is Happening Despite historically being some of our most reliable parts, we have received a surprising number of reports of failing Samsung drives, specifically with the 2TB version of the 980 Pro. We have been working with Samsung to investigate these failures, and they have recently confirmed that there is an issue affecting the older firmware that some 980 Pro drives were shipped with.
  5. From Lumi. EVGA struggle hard get enough good engineering samples of processors. They are too small. They can't compete with Asus, Msi, Gigabyte etc. Hence they have to look other places as Ebay, amazon or other places to find processors that stands out. Raptor lake is maxed out as it is. Very difficult to get good samples. And the record chips ain't from retail. Rather hand picked from Intel for the chosen one. And most of the best chips is in fact the early 13900K engineering samples before Intel's launch of Raptor lake. If you have a good 13900K sample then let it be as is. And same for GPU's. The best chips/cards won't go out to the customers. They will always go to the elite. From what I have read... All the top cards will never reach ordinary customers/retail. Etc the older 980Ti K|ngp|n cards above 90% ASIC score stayed in house. And later spread out to the chosen one. Isn't that nice? They value you as their very important customers. And we can go on. Same for motherboard, Memory and custom firmware/software. But this isn’t only with one brand. All brands do the same.
  6. If the driver wasn't verified he wouldn't get the green Valid stamp🙂 Then you have the messed up software from UL/Futuremark, so.... Galax can do this because of the name it have. Not many of the gamers or gamer kids bother if the cards have 18+4 or 28+4 design as long it make their games looking better vs older gen cards. KFA2 (GALAX) competes with the Strix model from Asus and the Suprim X model from MSI. If you look at the direct performance data, there are no significant advantages here in terms of performance technology. This means that currently, the manufacturers can only draw some attention with the extent of the performance, the visuals, and the price. Then you have features that is meant to increase the price point for the products. Fancy extra ARGB bling bling fan. "if you can't use it" (mount it the way it was ment) is a waste of money. Rather let people get cheaper cards and let them put their own fans if they want.... Charge more for useless features is just dumb. The extra added fan will shave of 1 or max 2C on max temp. Not more than whatever fan you have home "can do the same job".
  7. Nice. Galax is the OC brand of all right now as Msi got rid of their Lightning monsters and Evga is out of the game. Galax don't offer much love for their own lower tier, the real Galax 4090 cards (18+4 GPU/VRAM design). You need LN2 and custom firmware/software to make this card to sing. On top you pay premium for the Galax branding above it's stepsister the 4090 KFA2 1-Click OC card (see my old post above). Exactly the same card but don't come with the drooling brand name "Galax". Isn't 18+4 GPU/VRAM design one of the cheapo power delivery design out there for all better tier 4090 SKUs bro Fox? Can it be made even cheaper? But if the brand name is Galax... Everything is allowed. Even use cheapest solutions to power the card. Nice. Just nice Edit. I saw a video review of the card. The reviewer said the card had plastic feeling. Not good.
  8. Try remove that... ? As etc this Or your https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/88251389
  9. Wonderful being in the Red camp. Someone that remembers all the talk and bragging about offering more up to date drivers than nvidia? The last graphics driver that was actually released for the RDNA 2-based Radeon RX 6000 series graphics cards was the 22.11.12 which was made for a November release. Then, AMD's Radeon RX 7900 graphics cards launched in December, and guess what? All four graphics drivers, 2 in December and two in January (2023) have been exclusive to the RDNA 3 architecture. These are the driver releases over the past two months: https://wccftech.com/amd-has-not-released-a-new-radeon-driver-for-rdna-2-radeon-rx-6000-gpus-in-2-months/
  10. Could be before. Low overall sales push them to try sell more overpriced SKUs to keep profits above minimum. @ryanAD102 is all we get. And maxed out die won’t provide a major uplift in performance. 10-12% perhaps. On top… Gamers will never get the maxed out die. Not even their +6500$ cards get that.
  11. I don’t think Nvidia offer higher than 1.100V for 4090. It max out at that voltage. Binned within range of that max voltage. And the high memory temps for some Liquid X cards. Too big variance in build quality. Desktop hardware follows what you get with modern laptop junk nowadays. The trend is here to stay. Awesome is dead!
  12. Great that you got it to work. If it wasn't for the beta and get it to work... Msi never bother make own new software for tweaking under development of their new flagship. They have totally lost their touch. But be you sure... They will put all eggs into making new software of for bling bling tuning and maybe some gaming tasks features. They isn't very interested in OC'ing.
  13. I used an older beta. But this is the newest. Please delete everything from the stable official release. Full clean up. Wipe out everything. MSI Afterburner 4.6.5 (Beta 4) Download Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 01/11/2023 MSI Afterburner 4.6.5 Beta 4 download - Guru3D and MSI have been working hard on AfterBurner, today we release an updated revision of Afterburner; this application successfully secured the leading position on graphics card utilities Read more
  14. Nice results bro Fox 🙂 But is this below tempting? At least 2500$ for 10% more cuda cores and same amount vrm(slightly faster variant) as the 1600$ 4090 FE. Same Board power is just the icing on the cake. What about a castrated 4090Ti. Still Cut-down AD102 silicon(slightly less castrated than for 4090), Same amount vram to try reduce power consumption, one wimpy 16-power connector because the top dog ADA gamer card will get same max board power as the weaker 4090. One instead of two 16-power connectors reduce costs. Whats the point? Only to show greed have no limits? Yep, just rumors but not unlikely this will be final results coming from the green goblins. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Ti rumored to feature 18176 cores and 24GB/24Gbps memory https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-geforce-rtx-4090-ti-rumored-to-feature-18176-cores-and-24gb-24gbps-memory
  15. I had to install the beta version of Afterburner for activation of the voltage slider. And I mean you only got 50mv for 1.100v. And only God/Nvidia knows how long it will last. None know when Nvidia will change their mind and remove this option in coming drivers😂 Could be they did it wrong for 4000 series cards. But only put it there as option if AMD become a treat.
  16. Yep, I sub on this channel. He need more subs. His voice and style is fantastic🙂
  17. https://www.gemini.com/cryptopedia/crypto-mining-rig-bitcoin-mining-calculator-asic-miner Short for application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC), ASIC miners are designed to do one thing and one thing only — mine cryptocurrency. The first ASIC miner was released in 2012, and was about 200 times more powerful than the standard GPU miners of the time. The latest GPU-Z 0.5.8 includes a new feature that displays the quality of the GPU (ASIC quality) of recent graphics cards (GeForce GTX 400, GTX 500 and Radeon HD 7800, HD 7900 series). 2012.01.22 What you prefer... The chicken or the egg?😁
  18. W1zzard is the author of GPU-Z. ASIC___QUALITY The markething team usally get their info from their engineers.
  19. This is ugly and disgusting as well. From the EVGA forum. People buy legacy 980Ti K|ngp|n cards and find the same as me.... nvidia screwed up. Better later than never I expect. Could you please ask in the thread if some EVGA mods/reps have tried to force Nvidia to fix their disgusting screw up in their latest drivers? Because even EVGA washing their hands. Link here.... https://forums.evga.com/FindPost/3587910 If Nvidia can do this without people notice it/don't bother.... Be you sure Pascal, Turing, Ampere will be next on the list. Then 4000 series. As long there is an option for limited voltage control for modern Nvidia graphics cards.... It will be a goner. Because Nvidia don't really want it.
  20. 🤗🤗🤗 Geforce RTX 4090 VRM PCB water block list. Avoid Colorful for now if you want a custom WB. And nothing here for GALAX. They have restrict rules.... Don't change thermal paste if you intend or need return it for repair within warranty perod. Be sure you use their own paste if you are able to find it. Nice warranty for a graphics card that cost +2500$
  21. All is from EVGA's own page for their top tier graphics card. See the link I posted above. I put it here.... I have two older GTX 480. One with Asic at below 60% and one above 86%. The lower binned card is awful for oc'ing and run damn hot (FERMY was known for running HOT so High ASIC score was very needed). And if you didn't clean up you almost saw smoke coming from that card, LOOL Exactly. And I'm sure Nvidia still have tools and could offer the SDK to the GPU-Z author.
  22. ASIC = Gone with Pascal (10xx). Maxwell was the last nvidia arc with this feature. Here's how EVGA priced it for 980Ti K|ngp|n. My Zotac 980Ti Amp Extreme have 81.8% Asic quality. Costed $679.99 USD at launch or +50% cheaper than the best binned variant from EVGA https://www.techpowerup.com/review/zotac-geforce-gtx-980-ti-amp-extreme/28.html My Zotac 980Ti Amp Extr can do above 1600 and Jayz 980Ti K|ngp|n sample (his 2nd one) still barely do 1552MHz and thats near 1000+$ cards from EVGA. And Jayz wasn't happy with what it could do. And as you can see.... Buying the Halo product doesn't mean you will win in the silicon lottery... Not at all. So a great idea remove such features as Nvidia think. Not all will be happy seing they paid premium for nothing. https://forums.evga.com/What-are-your-GTX-980-Ti39s-ASIC-qualities-m2347656.aspx
  23. Yep, and most modern laptops have less I/O ports nowadays because the USB-C ports is meant to replace them. The Apple way. <nice with I/O ports as etc USB-C> that can't be used because you need to use it to power up your laptop😎 Dell scrapped etc Ethernet port for their high end gaming books because they preferred USB-C dongles for thin and slimy to let you connect to internet. Not all use want to use the Wifi connection. All this reminds all too much about Apple. You get less and less, but still have to pay premium.
  24. I remember when EVGA did proper binning. Old days they binned the correct way and used 3 tiers. And you paid accordingly what you wanted to pay. Now they put the “worst best” chips together with the “better bin” and put all of the so called binned chips into ther best and most expensive halo products. I don’t call this proper binning. The range in quality is too wide. You have a big risk getting trash vs other brands that put in whatever chips in their custom SKUs. What you really get for premium is slightly better cooler and amusing design that is meant to match what they charge. And Nvidia don’t need the best coolers for their FE cards. They just use better binned chips for free. AIC partners have to make better coolers to hide what they really use and what they get from Nvidia (they don’t want pay the premium or Nvidia don’t have enough of good silicon). Same for vram.
