  1. The gamer kids is ready to pull the trigger. Not everyday you see locked down processors selling near $600 USD. The world has gone crazy if this Cpu will sell (out) at this prices 🤮 And this is bro Fox after seeing this madness..... 🙃 AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D Starts Selling at 30% Mark-up The unexpected parting-shot of Socket AM4 and "Zen 3" at Intel's new "Alder Lake" architecture, the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, started selling. There is, however, a rude catch. On popular US retailer Newegg, the processor is going for as high as USD $589, or $140 higher than the $449 MSRP, a 30 percent mark-up. This would also put its price a vulgar $230 higher (64 percent higher) than the Ryzen 7 5800X, a price difference that can get you a reasonably good motherboard based on the AMD X570 chipset, or perhaps even a combination of a well-priced AMD B550 chipset motherboard and 16 GB of DDR4-3600 memory. It is important to note, however, though, that the Newegg listing is fulfilled by one of its marketplace vendors, and not Newegg directly. The site isn't selling the 5800X3D through its own fulfillment inventory. The Ryzen 7 5800X3D thoroughly impressed us and several other tech reviewers. AMD stands good on its claim that the 5800X3D is faster than the Core i9-12900K at gaming, and it does end up trading blows with the i9-12900KS (an $800 chip) in several titles. The $589 marked-up price, however, erodes much of that goodwill, and for that kind of money, you're better off just getting a Core i9-12900 (non-K), and unshackling its power limits in the motherboard BIOS. The i9-12900 will trade blows with the 5800X3D at gaming, but will thoroughly outclass it at productivity. Both the i9-12900 and the 5800X3D are "locked." Also Dell Alienware go all in for their gamer kids.... Dell tells us this is the first OEM desktop to market with AMD's fastest gaming chip. Alienware’s Aurora Desktop Rocks Ryzen 7 5800X3D, AMD Ryzen 6000 Gaming Laptops Inbound Historically Dell and AMD haven't always had what one would call a BFF relationship, but they sure are cozy with each other now. Going back to last year, Dell released its first AMD-powered laptops in over a decade. Now a year later, Dell tells us this momentum they've built with each other "shows no signs of slowing"
  2. Use an small sharp scissors. As well you need two very small/thin tip tweezers (as in ifixit toolbox) .
  3. Yep, for this gen laptops. Dell don't spend a bunch of money engineering custom/proprietary form factors if this isn't for the future for all their computers/laptops. A hybrid solution as for today's new model won't be the final outcome for this disater of engineering solution. None should expect that Dell will continue with So-dimm slots for next gen laptops. A fantastic idea only Dell can manage to make laptops even thinner outside Apple. The Bellsheep... Aka always the trendsetter. Thinner laptops = Less space for cooling. Expect this also will come for the Alienware's for even thinner gamingbooks. Imagine an Alienware x17 only 12mm thick🙃 I'm sure many gamer-boys will start drool only by the thought. And Dell will deliver as always. A master in proprietary design know their audience 🙂 In same way as Microsoft, who deliver/offer what they think their customers want. As etc the new tablet OS (Win 11 the resurrection from the scrapped dual screen OS Win 10x).
  4. I wrote about this in the forum here a few days ago. Of course it had to be Dell. Who else?
  5. They could also remove reg keys in Win 10 to delete functionality/features/change UI. But I doub't they will do it to make the older Win 10 looks more equal as Win 11. Most changes will come to Win 11 (remember it's their new baby). And we have Win 10 2021 LTSC (same as Win 10 version 21H2 today) and they can't change that OS version as they want.
  6. The worst chip can still run at 5.3 GHz on liquid cooling, which I would have considered an above-average 12900K/KF. 14 out of 14 pass 5.3 GHz, 13 out of 14 pass 5.4 GHz, and 3 out of 14 can pass 5.5 GHz. This out from of a tray with 14 chips tested on water. https://www.tomshardware.com/features/intel-core-i9-12900ks-world-record-78-ghz-8-cores Amd follow same paths as in older days. New has to be much better... Why bother change it at all? Also Microsoft should have skrapped the Win 10 refresh, branded Win 11. RX 6650XT Specs Leak Shows Minor Uplift Over RX 6600 XT
  7. Some problems is on both OS's but minor changes in the kernel for Win 11 open up a new door for more bugs/flaws. Windows 11 Updates Are Spitting Out Error Code 0xc1900101 Leaving Some Users Baffled Mon, Apr 18, 2022 Yep, next move from Windows developers will be deleting legacy compatibility from the latest and greatest OS. Same also. Expect they will remove more and optional registry keys (no more hacks) so you won't be able to change the OS (UI) for your likings or if you want the older Windows looks/style. See the beauty bro @Ashtrix @Mr. Fox Windows 11 taskbar downgrade and 3 other ways Microsoft is making its ubiquitous OS worse Microsoft's insistence on signing in with an account will most likely drive away people with little or no internet connection — a consequence that shows Microsoft isn't interested in catering to everyone anymore. 8. 3rd and 4th in 3DM Vantage. Gtx 750 Ti performed best with Win 10 LTSC. Maybe another nvidia driver can change that. https://hwbot.org/submission/4977917_papusan_3dmark_vantage___performance_geforce_gtx_750_ti_33893_marks?recalculate=true https://hwbot.org/submission/4977322_papusan_3dmark_vantage___performance_geforce_gtx_760_(256bit)_47418_marks https://hwbot.org/submission/4978007_papusan_aquamark_geforce_gtx_750_ti_530352_marks?recalculate=true https://hwbot.org/submission/4977995_papusan_3dmark11___performance_geforce_gtx_750_ti_7974_marks?recalculate=true
  9. Proprietary/own homebaked HW design. The beauty with proprietary design ... Lock you into their own sick sick world. Dell can't get enough of own design. Is this Dell’s innovation or vendor-locking? Or meant to help them make the laptop chassis even thinner and slimmer for a more Apple look? 10. Yep, the Ac cooler is ok. But I'll need an Custom cooler for Raptor lake. Remember double up with those small baby cores may push the AIO over the edge😄
  11. I used Kapton tape. And always nice have something lying in the drawer. Useful for many things. Kapton tape is easier to cut down in correct size. Can't come so much higher up. I'm in phase change cooler territory with my AIO cooler🙂 https://hwbot.org/submission/4976565_papusan_aquamark_geforce_gtx_760_(256bit)_531489_marks?recalculate=true https://hwbot.org/submission/4976542_papusan_pifast_core_i9_12900k_10sec_0ms?recalculate=true

  13. Still, the 12700K in this hybrid-laptop is far behind an mobile Cpu in benchmarks. And Notebookcheck don’t tweak the HW for best performance in their reviews. Then we have the cooling. Could be you don’t have much headroom to let it stretch it’s legs. Maybe undervolting will help but you can probably do that in the Jokebooks with an unlocked BGA chips as well. Same for improvement’s in cooling with etc LM. Yep, for me a flawed product. There is probably a reason they didn’t post benchmarks with 12900K.
  14. New loads of bugfixes is coming for Win 11. I wonder how long the list would be if we summed all patches/fixes since release +6 months ago. Windows 11 22000.651 (KB5012643, RP) improves TPM, Startup and Secure Boot What's new in Windows 11 Build 22000.651, KB5012643 New! Microsoft added improvements for servicing the Secure Boot component of Windows. Fixed an issue that causes the AppX Deployment Service (AppXSvc) to stop working after you install certain MSIX apps. Fixed a race condition that occurs early in the startup process that might cause a stop error. Improved the Autopilot client to process updated Trusted Platform Module (TPM) capabilities that support self-deployment and pre-provisioning scenarios. Changed the timeout for Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) registration from 60 minutes to 90 minutes for hybrid Azure AD-joined Autopilot scenarios. This also addresses a race condition that causes an exception at timeout. Fixed an issue that delays OS startup by approximately 40 minutes. Fixed a memory leak issue that affects Windows systems that are in use 24 hours each day of the week. Fixed an issue that affects the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) option 119 (Domain Search List) by preventing the use of the connection-specific DNS Suffix Search List. Fixed an issue that affects the Title attribute in Microsoft Ege IE mode. Fixed an issue in which mobile device management (MDM) policies were not allowed on Windows Enterprise editions that were upgraded to Enterprise using Azure AD-joined subscription entitlement. Fixed an issue that might cause video subtitles to be partially cut off. Fixed an issue that incorrectly aligns video subtitles. Fixed an issue that causes Kerberos authentication to fail, and the error is “0xc0030009 (RPC_NT_NULL_REF_POINTER)”. This occurs when a client machine attempts to use the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) to connect to another machine while Remote Credential Guard is enabled. Fixed an issue that causes Windows to go into BitLocker recovery after a servicing update. Fixed an issue that prevents retrieval of the Endorsement Key (EK) certificate from the TPM device. Fixed an issue that might fail to copy the security portion of a Group Policy to a machine. Fixed an issue that prevents the instantiation of the Microsoft RDP Client Control, version 11 and higher, inside a Microsoft Foundation Class (MFC) dialog. Displayed the temperature on top of the weather icon on the taskbar. Fixed an issue that prevents you from using the minimize, maximize, and close buttons on a maximized app window. This issue occurs because the Notification Center keeps the input focus. Fixed an issue that might occur when you use Netdom.exe or the Active Directory Domains and Trusts snap-in to list or modify name suffixes routing. These procedures might fail. The error message is, “Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service.” This issue occurs after installing the January 2022 security update on the primary domain controller emulator (PDCe). Fixed an issue that causes the primary domain controller (PDC) of the root domain to generate warning and error events in the System log. This issue occurs when the PDC incorrectly tries to scan outgoing-only trusts. Fixed an issue that occurs when you map a network drive to a Server Message Block version 1 (SMBv1) share. After restarting the OS, you cannot access that network drive. Fixed an issue that affects an SMB multichannel connection and might generate a 13A or C2 error. Fixed an issue that damages a pool when a Client-Side Caching (CSC) cleanup method fails to delete a resource that was created. Fixed an issue that might cause the server to lock up because the nonpaged pool grows and uses up all memory. After a restart, the same issue occurs again when you try to repair the damage. Feduced the overhead of resource contention in high input/output operations per second (IOPS) scenarios that have many threads contending on a single file. Check out the official release notes for more details.
  15. This doesn't look promising. BGA graphics and castrated unlocked desktop Cpu. Worst from both worlds. On top from Eurocom. And why buy an hybrid laptop (BGA+LGA)? These bench numbers from Eurocom is disgusting. The cpu probably cook/boil into this 15 inch chassis. What a waste of silicon. And what a waste of money. You should edit the upsides vs. downsides. I can not see anything that fits into the former sentence.
  16. Yep. 1000W is a minimum. @Reciever can also try the Calculator https://www.bequiet.com/en/psucalculator A failing PSU can drag with the whole system into HW heaven.
  17. I got the Be Quiet Dark 1500 and happy with it. Cheaper than the 1600 from Evga and Corsair but on same level in quality and power. If you don’t need a psu now then wait for the new one that will come for 4000 series graphics cards. Not much out there now with the new specs. Here’s the one I bought https://www.bequiet.com/en/powersupply/1943
  18. It seems Nvidia and their AIB partners struggle sell their 3000 graphics cards to the miners. Now its the gamers turn. It took only 18 months. Maybe its only 6 months wait and 4000 series cards is out and this time no miners will help Nvidia to get rid of the cards at 2x MSRP. NVIDIA says GeForce RTX 30 graphics cards are now in stock, announces “Restocked & Reloaded” campaign To be honest, we have never seen any such marketing campaign before. After all, it is quite strange for a GPU company to announce graphics cards ‘in stock’ nearly 18 months since these cards were released, yet here were are.
  19. People will jump on it as sweet candy. There is for a reason gamingbooks with castrated Max-Q graphics still sell well. People get what they ask for. https://www.computerbase.de/2022-04/ryzen-7-5800x3d-gaming-benchmark/3/ Yep it runs with less voltage. The locked down 5800X3D gaming flagship from AMD would never ever seen the light if AMD used same silicon bin as for 5800x. If they did we would see even lower boost clocks. But be you sure... People would buy it anyway. AMD missed out on this. They could have increased their profits using lesser quality bin and flooded the market with locked down flagship chips.
  20. Yep, they couldn't have used same binning as for 5800x. If they did, it wouldn't reach their targeted boost clocks as today within use of same voltage and power cap. Remember that 5800X3D run at same temp as the 5800X but with 35W less wattage.
  21. I wonder how much money Intel paid them this time😀 This is pure slaughter from from UserBenchmarks. They have a very valid point (the new chips provide lower performance in many tasks vs its sibling/twin) but with their recent history they have lost all credibility. The notorious UserBenchmark has struck again as the review embargoes for the Ryzen 7 5800X3D were lifted today. In its description of the new Ryzen 7 5800X3D, the site has labeled the new 3D V-cache technology as a "gimmick" and has stated that AMD would require more than such gimmicks to be competitive. Notorious UserBenchmark is already throwing shade at AMD's new Ryzen 7 5800X3D
  22. Weird seeing an custom loop struggle with low power consumption due the chips design. A disaster chips design. Intel rely more on high burst clocks (single and dual cores) today. And you need a good cooler to be able to run all cores at single core boost. In the earlier days it was a lot easier to put all cores at single core boost. See also the Jokebook chips. High single core boost that drop fast once all cores being loaded. They use high single core boost on almost all their chips. From the wimpy 15W U-series chips up to their 125/150w chips for desktops. All have high single core bost clocks that will collapse once they start do something meaningful. Their spastic behaviour is quite disgusting...
  23. Intel Core i9-13900K Raptor Lake CPU Might Turbo To 5.8GHz And Flex 68MB Of Game Cache hothardware.com So if all this is true, Raptor Lake in addition to bringing an upgraded architecture and optimizations to the fold, will also feature a faster top clock and increase the L2+L3 cache bucket from 44MB to 68MB. That will make things interesting in what will be a showdown with Zen 4 later this year. LOOOL. But everything with "Gaming" in the name will sell. Have you ever heard aboth the sentence.... Gamer-kids?🙂There is a reason we is flooded with bling bling and flashy lights in all colors in all todays computer tech. Isn't it amusing? Amd was fast out talking about oc'ing once they throw out their fully locked "Gaming" chips... 24. All have a Happy Easter 2022 🙂 @Prema https://hwbot.org/achievement/1070_ Almost as 6th gen Intel mobile processors…. Fully locked. Even under-clocking isn’t allowed. Overclocking the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is not possible. The BIOS does offer the usual options to change the multiplier, but these have no effect. Reducing the multiplier to underclock has no effect either. I also tried adjusting the base clock from 100 MHz to 103 MHz, but that didn't even POST. https://www.techpowerup.com/review/amd-ryzen-7-5800x3d/22.html
