  1. To my knowledge all of MSI "gaming" laptops are 16:9, they don't have VRR or G-Sync/FreeSync, and their entire gaming laptop is still 300 nit advertised. I expect MSI to add these features back in the 2023 lineup with 4000 series Nvidia or next gen AMD, but for now I don't see any of those options offered in the gaming space. The 1080p knock was specific to this model as I do know they offer higher res displays, but their offerings are substandard to other panels in other brands.
  2. I like MSI laptops for the unlocked/hidden BIOS, but man they aren't keeping up with the competition. Still using 300 nit displays, 1080p, and no variable refresh or G-Sync in 2022, and no 16:10 or 16" options is inexcusable for me. Until they change that, it's a hard pass for me considering their high prices.

  4. I don't know what it is, but lately I've been on this lower end spec part kick. Like I've just gotten so sick of top end part being near maxed out of box. I am having so much more fun tinkering with the G7400 and i3 12100F and honestly the i3 could keep me happy for daily use. It's crazy how fast the 4 core part is with the high IPC and clockspeed.
  5. Pushing 105w through the little beast, barely breaking a sweat lol. This paste/pad is crazy. Max fans, no cooling pad or anything weird, just sitting on my laptop.
  6. Checking in with my Omen 16.1" 2021 edition with 11800H and RTX 3070 115w 1440p 165Hz G-Sync/Advanced Optimus 🙂 Repasted it recently with Honeywell PTM 7950 phase change thermal pad/sheet. https://ibb.co/KmPpN6j I'm also using 32gb Dual Ranked Kit of 2933Mhz CL17 Gear 1 instead of the stock 3200Mhz CL22 Gear 2. My biggest gripe is the completely locked down BIOS. If I had access to the Advanced BIOS to tune the memory and run Gear 1 at 3200Mhz CL16 the laptop would be perfect but I haven't found a way in yet.
  7. @ryan My HP Omen 16.1" 11800H/3070 repasted with Honeywell PTM 7950 (phase change) thermal pad. This stuff is amazing. Not quite Liquid Metal but the best thermal material I have ever used. I got a sheet of it from China, took about 2 weeks for delivery but damn this stuff is crazy good.
  8. Solid choice on the Unify-X. I’ve read nothing but good things about it and MSI nailed the DDR5 OC this round. I’ve considered picking one up myself.
  9. What mode are you running your RAM in? In the BIOS there is an option to change the memory speed. I think you'll find that using 3200Mhz Gear 2 is worse than using 2933Mhz Gear 1. Although it's not labeled this. It's labeled SA GV or something similar. There is 20ns difference in latency and not that much difference in read/write to justify the latency hit.
  10. The i3 is a better sample for sure. Intel is sand bagging so hard with this "low end" locked SKUs. They could have eaisly released higher clocks. But milk milk milk. 🐮🐄 Alder Lake is a beast.
  11. Pushing a bit further. Pretty excited to see what the i3 will do now. I'll see if I can get 5.5Ghz out of this chip first though. Not bad for a Pentium dual core in 2022 lol.
  12. I'm going to blow your mind. Windows Key + Print Screen will make a screenshot for you. Then you can use pictures to crop or whatnot. No need to use paint or anything like that.
  13. Purchased for the lolz. I also grabbed a 12100F. Just cranked in 140mhz BCLK and booted right up with 6400Mhz XMP.
  14. Pay $200 to have the "chance" of buying a GPU? What a joke.
  15. It's a really bloated software for sure. It will also hurt your benchmarks. If you need it, make sure you close that crap out completely when trying to bench.
  16. Have both of the same sets myself lol. I haven't even bothered to try out the 6200 Corsair kit yet. Maybe I'll plug them in tonight and give them a go.
  17. Stock XMP I with TREFI at 65535 and turn around training enabled. Tested stable for 8000% coverage so far. When I go to 6600 I am still trying to figure out stable voltages. I also have a small fan blowing directly over my sticks. I have the Corsair 6200 CL36 1.3v kit that came in the mail the other day but still have not had time to test it. It's also SK Hynix so curious how those will work out compared to these GSkill SK Hynix.
  18. I am also still on 0811. It's stable, has BCLK overclock for non-K chips if you want to dabble and has AVX-512 with E cores disabled. I have no plans to ever upgrade unless memory tuning gets vastly improved over this BIOS. @Papusan We are SP twins. My 12900K is also SP92. You got a good chip on first pull so congrats. From what I'm hearing/reading your SP92 is not going to be any worse than a baseline KS chip. EDIT: Looking again at your prediction your cache looks great! You should be able to push that cache to decently high clocks!
