  1. I purchased the pro version of Flashboot, and made many ISO's with it. I have not had much luck getting 7 installed using the ISO's it creates. Of course I was trying to install it on my class 3 HP probook. I had mouse and keyboard during install, but could not get past the call for the legacy vga driver at first boot. There is supposed to be some sort of emulation of the vga driver until you get your actual gpu driver installed, but it never worked for me.
  2. I will use my RX 6600xt until sometime next year, and see if the stupid prices come back to earth. Not in any hurry to buy a gpu yet. not at $1000. Stupid cryptodicks!
  3. You don't need to use a KB, you just need a Windows 7 iso with all the goodies integrated. I have many links to some ISO's that have nvme, usb 3, etc driver's already integrated. I will be using Windows 7 as the primary on my new build.
  4. Not a glitch by MS, they just want you to use their latest and greatest advertising platforms, AKA Windows 10, 11. Windows 7 is so much fun to customize.
  5. I honestly cannot remember the last time I bought a Windows License. I had MSDN access back in the day for Windows 7, so I have every version of it. I would never buy a license for the crap they put out now. Go to MDL for things like this? I know they are not very much on Kinguin, but I would hate myself if I bought a Windows 10 key.....I would feel like I supported their trash 😁 Thats a nice rig buddy!
  6. That's the reason most have left Asus, their horrible customer service, and crap QC. I haven't owned one for 10 years. There are too many other manufacturers that have better products IMO. I base my opinion on board quality and customer support combined.
  7. Have you tried anything but Asus? I have been done with them for quite some time. My go to choice for any MB is MSI. https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/Creator-TRX40
  8. I cant find anywhere in the description about fitting AM5. https://www.newegg.com/arctic-liquid-cooling-system/p/13C-000P-000R4?Item=9SIA2W0GR42879
  9. Right. The reason I was asking, was Newegg was out of stock of the 420 version, and was getting it from one of their partner sites. I cant see the package or the revision number. I sent them a message to see if it was AM5 compatible. Thanks Pap.
  10. Exactly, I've edited it using windows style builder. Only use curtains for the frames, then import my custom frame images. Pretty easy to do. I preferred aeroglass 8 by big muscle, but he disappeared 2 years ago.
  11. @jaybee83I was thinking of picking up one of those Arctic Liquid Freezers for my new build, but the specs only show it fitting the AM4, and not the AM5?? Does it fit the new socket? Thanks.
  12. The theme started out as steelflash, a windows 7 theme. I've modified it heavily to make it mine. If you go to virtual customs, there are many themes that have been ported to work on windows 10.
  13. Here is the Nvidia version, not as bad, but still ugly. https://www.newegg.com/yeston-geforce-rtx-3080-rtx3080-10g-d6x-ya/p/1FT-007N-00071?quicklink=true
  14. Ive seen these on Newegg, I never looked at them very close though. Always skimmed past them, I am very glad I did. That is hideous!
  15. Got this cool little LCD in the mail the other day. Need to figure out where to mount it. It does come with a cheesy little stand though.
  16. It appears that the Egg has some 7900xt's. It should be $699 though. If you pull up the images of the 3 cards, they look very similar to the reference card from AMD 😉😉
  17. IMO Both Radeons should have been priced $100-$150 less than what they are. It was a paper launch to sell out quickly to give the illusion of massive sales. I will take bother @Mr. Foxadvice and wait to see if prices come down on the XTX. I almost fell for it.
  18. I love reading the comments on a review at techspot...I do hate when people go off on a political rant in the middles of talking about hardware. I hate morons.
  19. With what @Mr. Fox and @johnksss have said, maybe i wont be benching anymore. Sounds like it's going the way everything else is in this world. Limited choice, high prices, rules that only apply after the golden children have uploaded their scores.....smh. Benching was fun as in as little as a few years ago. Silicon released at near max frequencies, gpu's with crappy memory clocking, and being stuck with crappy versions of windows all relates to greedy corporations wanting full control over everything you purchase. Sorry to say, it's only going to get worse.
  20. I may just get a 6950xt, or just stay with my 6600xt. I don't do any 4k gaming, I just play now and then. I was hoping to kind of future proof this rig a little, but I'm not paying those prices for an upper level card. I would have been willing to pay 1000 to 1200.
