  1. I am waiting on CPU, RAM, WLAN, AND GPU. According to seller Electronux.com "they've said the display is 1440p 120hz". Unless there is a way to ID the display physically in or on the unit IDK yet. Once I get it running is the only way I will know.
  2. BGA means skinny little runaround and that means NOT upgradable, they are missing the mark again!
  3. SoFar the only problem was a loose screw imbedded in the heatsinh fins and a small bracket plate that came unwelded from the heatsink. I can't really complain about it, there is no telling when it happened! The box had a small dent probably from USPS but this damage could have been from the factory back in the day, maybe on a manic Monday or the day after Thanksgiving or New Years, everybody knows how those days go. All in all I am not disappointed!
  4. The heatsink won't fit the 980. I tried the 1080 and the die is offset. I am looking at clevo mxm cards now debating to get the cheapest to see how everything works before I go for the extreme setup. Like Eluktronicscom said in his add, I am now in a Rabbit Hole and feel like the Mad Hatter LOL
  5. I offered $500 and they accepted for (New) Old Inventory Clevo P870DM3-G Barebones. I was tempted a couple months ago but didn't want to go down another rabbit hole, but gave in cause I always wanted a Clevo and I can just take my time setting this up. It should be delivered today! I wonder how long the battery can just sit there without a charge. Any ways try a lower offer than I did
  6. I dont know the difference between P870TM and P870DM3 but this NOS https://www.ebay.com/itm/334620966341?hash=item4de8f6bdc5:g:0~8AAOSwD-Ni2A~9 Looks tempting to me as I never had a Clevo
  7. I was going to tell@ssj92 to be careful and make sure about this flash, so many variables like warranty and crippling the card. I like the ability of mounting it to a desktop for testing, thats a great option. Its really disturbing Nvidia encrypts the vBios and extends their tentacles into the masses machines
  8. Hey Thanks for lookin out, I guess I'll let the m5000m go and start looking for the Nvidia 3D vision glasses, I hope they don't give me a headache lol I was reading the specs of the m5000m and it states 3D vision Pro and that got my hopes up, I am still glad I have this m17x r4 cause its like a rare collectors item and look foward to play Skyrim in 3D
  9. Hey I've been looking at this GTX 1070 mxm on ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/164357449828 But it comes from China actually Hong Kong and the price is acceptable to me but there is alot of tampering with boards that I read about so I don't know if I should take the chance
  10. OK! got this tucked away in my P4000 folder, When the time comes the m6700 will remove the GTX 980m and it will get a Quadro. I find it funny my m17x and m18x both have Quadro's and m6700 has GTX HAHA Don't tell Dell lol Thanks!
  11. This is really good to know cause I tried the P4000 in m6700 but nogo. The p4000 on ebay for $280 is great deal, gotten 2 one for the m18x and m17x. If I can get the GTX 1080m running then I would try P4000 in the m6700
  12. My P4000 has 86.04.51.00.03 Do you have the CH314A with 1.8v adapter? Read that w/o it could fry the card
  13. I have the p4000 but am afraid to flash it, am having issues with GTX 1080 mxm and don't want to lose another card. P4000 works great but would like to OC it. Hope you are Brave enough, if it works for you I will do it!!! Even though you have the P3000 it should work on P4000
  14. I downloaded the latest Nvidia Drivers 526.98 and modded the inf %NVIDIA_DEV.1BA0.0551.1028% = Section057, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1BA0&SUBSYS_05511028
  15. I am looking to buy a Quadro m5000m for m17x r4 120hz 3D screen. It seems to be the last Nvidia 3D vision card made. The m17x r4 120hz 3D can only run in PEG. So all other newer cards will not work as 3D was abandoned by Nvidia in 2019. I never played any games in 3D so this laptop is capable and want to give it a shot when I get around to getting the Glasses. I found M5000m on Aliexpress for $188 and found 1 in the States for $350. Am leaning towards the 1 in the States. If anyone here has another option, maybe have one not being used due to it being close to GTX 980m/970m performance I would be interested Thanks!
  16. You mean the .inf file? I think I've been doing it right, the only part that I wonder about is the sections. I usually follow the section # just ahead of where I make the new entry but I did see a post on NBT about trying other section #'s. But never had a problem with P4000, GTX 970m, 980m, 680m, 660m, or K4000, but that is the extent of my cards except for the GTX 1080m. Its the first card I'm having trouble with. And since it is Aetina like A4500 that @ssj92 is having trouble with makes me suspicious even though he had success with Aetina RTX 3000. I do want to get a GTX 1070 mxm but I only see them from China and the two 980's I bought from china seem a little off so I get a little leery buying from there.
  17. OK I have that 1 I downloaded from techpowerup and it showed in bios and let me install drivers but gave a code 43. some of the vBios didn't even show the card in bios or device manager. So I kept flashing different vBios and the Alienware ones showed the card but not all the Dell vBios and the Nvidia vBios would not show. I put the P4000 back in the m17xr4 and another day I want to try the GTX 1080m in the m18xr2 2nd slot like you mentioned. Never tried the 2nd slot but it gives hope! Thanks for the reply
  18. What vBios are you using in that card please! I have been trying an Aetina gtx 1080 mxm and I also keep getting code 43 like @ssj92 with his Aetina A4500 mxm. I have flashed quite a few vBios, and after reading your post about Zotac card I tried the Zotac vBios and still code 43. This happened in both my m18x r2 and m17x r4. They both run P4000 in SG perfectly, but the 1080 mxm just won't kick in
  19. Right according to this eDP, LVDS, VGA, USB-C display output are not supported) EMB-G663-A0-Brochure.pdf
  20. What systems does this card work on? And not meaning civilian Dell with BGA cards. Did you compare the vBios from the manufacturer (adlink) to the downloadable vBios they provide? As to the Dell and HP vBios. Just a difference from the military/medical versus civilian setups. And the difference of rtx 3000 vBios.
  21. Hey @Trov I think you might be the first M4800 to score with a T2000 and G3 socket!! Go post your score on 3DMark!!!
