  1. The more you know....ha ha. I always thought it was just the 10700 and 10900 in various forms. hmmmm.
  2. If you have to measure it in milliseconds it's not a huge deal that is made out to be. As I said previously You do not notice any of this "lag" using your computer as a computer....Only running a benchmark, etc.
  3. Reminds me of my last radeon. XT9600 AIW. Loved that card when I had it.
  4. My systems do heaving lifting in photo/video/graphics work and they are fast. My notebook is a little slower doing the same work as it only has Xe graphics, but It does it...it's not the OS slowing down my systems at all, they are extremely "snappy" as claimed here. I hit software and it opens instantly. No waiting around like on the Mseries macs that I have been looking at. Open safari or chrome on the M2 macbook and there is like a 2 second delay before the software opens. My notebook, you hit edge and it's open instantly ready to rock. As I said, I do NOT see any lag etc using both of my systems.
  5. Mine was not built on the K platform, but on a B18 motor. but the results were similar. Best part, ZERO turbo lag etc. Just raw power from tip in to redline BEAST!
  6. That was my point, you may see something using a synthetic benchmark, but actually using your computer doing computer stuff, You don't see a difference or slow down.
  7. I was on Dells website and found the inspiron 3020 small desktop. It is perfect for her. It has an i5 13th gen, Xe graphics (fine for her), and I can add 64gb of ram, a 2tb ssd and a big HDD inside the machine. Tack on the low profile noctua cooler, an 80mm in front and 2 40mm in back (all there is space for) and her system will be fast, quiet and not take up a bunch of room. She is not doing any huge graphic intensive work other than cricut designer so no need for a video card in her system. And at 599.00 cdn for the base system it's cost effect that she can get a new laptop too. See what we can get for a decent price there at the same time.
  8. I see all these processes in TM, but I do not see any performance hit etc that is being claimed here. If there is, it's not perceivable using your computer. AT ALL.
  9. This 100 percent. I was debating building a new system for myself, but mine now with the 2070 super and 10th gen i7 is flying through anything I toss at it without hiccups. I do wish my notebook had some sort of video processing besides Xe, but it still does what I need it to do albeit somewhat slower. I was watching some comparison videos of the super and 30xx and 40xx series cards and the little bit of performance gains for the money is just not worth me doing it right now.
  10. Here is a better picture I took this morning....works awesome IMO!
  11. I am a huge shed nerd. What fridge did you get for out there? I have to finish my shop again back to the way it was. Clean and new. I am going to get a red bull fridge from the local distributor. Holds enough Bull and beer for a few night session down there building stuff! We have a stackable washer unit now by fridgedaire. We are replacing with the the new LG laundry center. WAY better and quiet.
  12. You are like myself. I feel the same way. I have to have everything symmetrical too. In my eyes 2 monitors in the setup I have is symmetrical, If, like yourself, if I had one centered and the the other to the side, it would drive me bonkers! I get it! All my stereos, tv etc volumes are all on even numbers too. Same with all my heaters.
  13. I think I am going to the old tried and true XPS system for MrsKojack too. Better to spend extra and get what we want and be happy. I am extremely happy with my XPS workstation and I am sure it will suit her fine too. I can install Noctua cooling to keep it quiet then as well.
  14. I will have a look and see what I can find with that setup. She will be mostly doing admin work, but may start doing some website work with me as well. Maybe some 'Cricut' work as well. Nothing intensive at all.
  15. Can you buy something like this to hold you over? LG Electronics 8,000 BTU DOE/SACC (11,000 BTU ASHRAE) Portable Air Conditioner with Remote | The Home Depot Canada
  16. I would never order from NewEgg, even back when I was building OC'ing machines, they were the shadiest of shades. Hundreds of stories just like yours. Pay your money, get a "tracking number" and nothing ever show up....fight for months to get your money back (if you could). Good luck in getting it all resolved. As for 4k/1080. It's a "real" thing, but you have to have your nose on the screens to notice it. Now, color accuracy, gamut etc are all things you can clearly interpret with the naked eye.
  17. I am looking at the following mini system for the wife. She won't be doing anything graphics intensive so I think this would be ideal to keep her office clean of a big box. I am also getting her the 27 inch MSI white monitor and white desk arm for the monitor. Your thoughts on this little system? MINISFORUM TH80 Mini PC 11th Gen Core i7-11800H Micro Computer, DDR4 16GB RAM + 512GB PCIe SSD, HDMI/DP/USB-C(4K@60Hz) Outputs, 2.5G LAN, 5X USB3.2, Intel UHD Graphics Small Form Factor : Amazon.ca: Electronics
  18. You can always order a second one. use a mount like I have. Works awesome. I have my entire desk with 2 24's on them. I am going to move to 2 27" monitors asap. Might even be the new studio monitors if I like the Mac Mini? ewww. ha ha.
  19. Tablets are another matter all together. I take both my Samsung a7 lite and ipad 10th gen with me. ha ha...Depending where and what we are doing.
  20. I am in the get a lightweight laptop for travel and keep the desktop for heavy lifting. That's what I have personally. My dell 2 in 1 is my travel buddy. It can do anything I need while being lightweight, decently powerful ( can edit 4k video etc but rendering is slow) if need be, but take the same project and pop it into my workstation in my office it just skips right on through. I am looking at apple lately too, I am thinking I am going to move to Apple (keeping my current dell stuff as well) and try a macbook air M3 for travel, and a mini M3 for desktop. I am just waiting to see what M3 brings before shelling out the coin for it all.
  21. Sounds like a whiny AMD fan to me. Could only watch a few mins of him crying about Linus with intel/Nvidia equipment.
