iPhone 15 pro/Max durability. They have none.
kojack replied to kojack's topic in Mobile Devices & Gadgets
These are our in store demos. They have to have these attached to them so they are protected from theft. Like I said, we have had hundreds of devices on our demo stations that we removed and took off the 2 way adhesive tape without issue. The 15 pro series (regular 15s were fine, go figure) glass shattered at the lightest hint of pressure to remove. I would not want to go naked with these phones and drop them. one little drop even on a table could shatter them. That's how thin the glass is around the coil for the charger. -

Apple has not said anything they do not know about it. They will find out when they get the phones back from the demo program. No sir. No heat applied. basically twist a stuck on sensor until tape comes off. I have done this to hundreds of different phones in the past three years. People use this same adhesive to keep their pop sockets on their phones. -
So we were changing over the iPhone display like we do all the time for new model devices in the store and when it was time to remove the two way tape attached to our security systems on the phones, this happened. The regular 15 and plus handled the removal fine just like every other device we have ever swapped out from any manufacturer. The pro and pro max however shattered under minimal pressure to remove said tape. It just reinforces what I say about apple devices currently. More style than substance.

I have a very similar setup to rick's guitar rig now. Just waiting to get a similar guitar. The tone that comes from his system is awesome. I have two fender amps, Line 6 pedal board instead of a mishmash of pedals, running through the amps in stereo which is WILD for delay and modulation effects (they swirl around you). The music has feeling! I am putting down the floor in my music room next week so my gear can go back in it's home. I will have two rooms finished from the flood then. Our gym and music room will be completed by the end of next week if everything goes right.

I have the sanyo PLV-Z1. It upscales to 1080 and has awesome color. I purchased it back in 2003 and have owned it ever since. At the time it was rated one of the top 5 projectors under 5000.00. I paid 2800 for it back then.

Can a tablet replace an office laptop ? My journey.
kojack replied to Bullit's topic in Mobile Devices & Gadgets
Tesla's would be way better with gas engines. Windows is king for productivity. the android versions of software and iOS for that matter too, are all gimped in some way. When you have windows, you have the full versions of the software. I have used all three, there is no comparison when trying to get work done. Windows is the best. I have owned surface devices in the past. They are awesome. Being able to take your tablet, pop into a dock and have full windows on your displays, but have it on the move as well is a god send. Android is great for consumption, looking at FB, youtube, etc. For doing work, its not even close. -
100 percent. The walls are bare without them. ha ha. I am adding another 43 inch to my workstation for viewing completed projects. I don't shell out alot for them since they are disposable these days. The good ole ONN roku tv's from Walmart do the trick without issue. Their speakers suck so alternative audio is a must.

Because like any big headed rich dude, they love their "tires pumped"...no matter who's pumping them.

Of course a Laptop would be better, but even a tablet style device running true windows is a much better way to be productive, no matter what the "product" is. Android is awesome for consumption. Windows is much better at production. -

Talk to me when it runs windows. It's a cool tablet, but for a productivity tablet nothing touches windows based systems. Having the full versions of software is a big deal. -

Can't these companies be original? Their software is a blatant ripoff of apple. I thought it was a review of an ipad. I still think the best tablet now is the surface snapdragon. Have all the power of a real OS in a 12 inch device. -
I know. I saw it a while ago and forgot all about it. There are a few different models in the wild now. I also found one that has a complete docking station included as well. I like the Pocket Ai the best because of the very small size of it. I want a very small kit to carry with me, and it fits right in my carrying bag. I was taking an extra touch display with me to have a very similar setup as I have home, but I am not sure that will work with the External device. I have to look more into that one as well, if not, I will leave the display at home and use the extra processing power.

deciding on a laptop used or refurbished .?
kojack replied to raptorddd's topic in General Discussion
My advice is to only purchase electronics from the Amazon renewed store. Ordering something from ebay like that is a gamble and if it is not what you think, returning it is a PITA. I, moving forward, will only be purchasing from the renewed store for all my devices. You get great deals on 1- or 2-year-old tech items with full warranties. It's a fantastic way to save money and get great devices. -
What phone are you daily driving currently?

I'm sure they are, if you want to buy used. If you don't, then the cheaper android devices now are really really good. -
We are going on a 3 week camping trip next summer and for the most part we will be eating our own food. We bought a portable 12v fridge for the back of the jeep and will have our 2 burner propane stove with coleman box oven as well. There will be a couple of stops at McDonalds for Colin, and one stop at Mary's African Cuisine in Halifax when we are there (they have wheat free dishes on the menu). Other than that, it will be going to the grocery store every few days when we move from one campground to the other. Technology has made it easier to find places if need be however and I am grateful for that.

I am on your side. I had a different kind of health scare, as you know. However, my son with autism has these panic attacks when certain things trigger him. When he was younger he was afraid of dogs, animals of all sorts, he still cannot be left alone. Someone has to be in the house with him or with him outside at all times. I completely understand what you are going through. How to beat it? I cannot give any advice, only you can get that done. If it is legal down there, try CBD gummies. You don't get high off them, but they do stabilize alot of things in your internal systems. It can reduce pain, stress, regulate your nervous system and treat alot of different health issues. Before it became legal here, there was thousands of studies proving the benefits of it and finally the government woke up and stopped with the religious kookery blocking very beneficial natural treatments. EDIT: I have arthritis in my neck and back from 35 years of off road motorcycle and snowmobile racing and getting hit head on in an accident (not my fault). CBD is the ONLY thing that gets rid of the pain so I can sleep throughout the night, wake up the next morning, get out of bed and not walk like quazimoto for the first 30 mins of the morning. That stuff works, and it's a "miracle treatment". It also makes me not want to kill people that come into work acting like aholes.

Any car/truck/SUV that I have owned and was driven in the winter here had it's windshield replaced before it gets any swirls. They use boulders here for ice control, so sure as there is S*@T in a cat, my glass gets cracked, chipped, stoneshot every winter.

I have a very large house. Plus I have tv's in each of my garages. I have 2 tv's in my rec/theater/bar room, plus a 120 in retractable screen and projector for movie nights.
