I am wondering if Microsoft will work with this now (or some other company) and create a messaging platform for windows. I am close to jumping ship on MS, but we will see how much trouble I am going to have to get my account unlocked next month. And then the wife's. I think her secondary contact is her now lost rogers email as well. I will have to fix hers after I get mine back up and running.

I am looking at moving to mac, I am wondering what can I get for my XPS 8940. 10700 processor 128gb ddr4 ram 2tb ssd 1tg ssd 500gb ssd 2tb HDD 2070 super all Noctua cooling 2 24" dell monitor with desk mount arm and stock bases. One monitor is touch enabled dell keyboard and mouse Would like to sell as a complete system if at all possible. Shipping extra of course.

From what I have been reading they are equivalent to the current M3 (non pro) chips. For a first kick at the can in the pc space that is decent. I will take it.

So, I have been sitting around watching the ole tube lately. So I decided to search Apple M1 vs. intel 1165g7. I get the normal culprits like Luke Miani and Maxtech. I watch those and they are claiming 120 percent faster on real world testing. I thought to myself, WOW. those mjesus chips are insane. Then I started watching NON brand loyal channels and a very different outcome was coming from those people who didn't want clickbaity videos. Turns out the M1 and the 1165G7 are VERY close in both performance and battery life. Doing low power activities like web browsing and youtube etc, the M series will get 3 to 4 hours better battery life than the intel. once pushed the numbers change drastically. They are within 1 hr of each other once heavy loads are applied. Meaning the M series will get one hour or less better battery life than the intel chipset. Hardly something worth going apecrap over. Then comes the performance side of things. The Nonclickbaity channels do REAL real world test. (who knows what Maxtech has done to the intel machine or their tests), and once again, the 1165g7 trades blows with the M1 in real world tests. Sometimes the m series finishes first, sometimes the intel does. It's not the blow out that the other dance and crow about. It's the same results I am seeing with my one intel based notebook. I never see slow downs etc. Yeah it takes a bit to render and export 4k video on it, but it also takes just as long for the M1 to do it. The difference is 3 mins or less. NOT the 20 min faster that Luke and Max claim constantly. Like I said, they probably force the intel into low power mode somehow or have the benchmarking system neutered for the intel. I went and used the M2 macbook air for a good hour a few weeks back at work doing things with it and never thought once, this is extremely faster than my current system. I do like the display better than mine but hey....not a huge deal as my display still is fine, its the apple is a little better. All in all, I am going to stay with my current systems and move to a pixel 8 Pro instead of buying new macs.

Agreed, I make a thread in the OS section talking about macs and I don't think I got a response. As for the Arm chips, look out next spring. Oryon is going to be coming like a wecking ball to laptops and tablets near you. Apple is going to lose it's one major advantage in the computing space. Efficiency. Interesting times.

We are still waiting for our 2 pixels to arrive at the store here. I keep checking every day I am working to see if they show up. just 128mb versions. boo. Plus only black has shown up except one hazel and one bay color. We cannot wait to get the pixels, as I want to finally move away from the walled garden and carry on using android/microsoft combo instead of iOS and macOS combos as I was starting to float towards. I want a more open ecosystem, where i can use the devices I want, in the way that I want. As soon as they arrive, I will get some photos and reviews done on the two phones.

That's not happening. They did it for 11 to make sure everyone using it has the on board security built into the intel processors. Had nothing to do with planned obsolescence like what Apple does with their sewage OS.

Is what it is, if my systems crash because of a bios update and they die, I will get a new one. Hopefully its my desktop since I can change out the mother board, case and PSU then have a new fully running system again without too much trouble. If it's ny notebook, then I guess one of the few new systems I am looking at will be ordered.

There are many more options out there. Should try some. If I don't like something I stop using it, buying it, etc. Not keep using said product, go on website and constantly whine about it. smdh!

That is awesome. Take care of her. My parents are in their mid 70s now and relaxing in their home just 3 kms away from my wife and I. WE LOVE Mexican food and culture. We want to visit Mexico some day, not the crappy resort Mexico, the real small town real deal mexico where there are little shops and places to eat, and converse with the locals and hear their stories. We were just talking about that. We are looking at purchasing a 4x4 30 ft motorhome and just driving and living. We are done with our current life and situation. We want to go out and adventure around north/central/south America and see the world. We wish your family the best and you never know, we may end up in your area some day soon!

almost 500,000 people running 11 now. Well above microsofts expectations. They were never thinking they were going to get windows 10 numbers releasing 11. So they are happy where the numbers are.

I replaced the battery in my dell as well. Not because the old one was damaged or not working, but I found out there was a bigger battery available to fit inside. It was an option that I did not know about. So, instead of 8 hrs I now get 10-11 hrs. It's awesome that you got your system all fixed up.

Any update on your battery situation?

It will take some time for users to get on windows 11 because alot of systems cannot upgrade. So, when these systems are replaced the 11 share will trend upwards. Dumb I know. but it is what it is. I am enjoying using windows 11. Works great, it's fast and efficient for my usage.

Me too. Except I do it at the store when I am working there. People piss me off enough there, I politely tell them to Eff off out of my store! ha ha.

Yes, that's a different scenario. Since, for the most part I am self employed and live in my own home, I will never be without a pc.

I think this story was bogus to begin with anyways. They charge for windows 365, for enterprise, NOT Consumer. Consumers have windows 11/12 etc and MS365 for office/onedrive etc. Sounds like a hater / fanboy of other platforms come up with this one.

I never liked the hack job desktop features of phones. Either dex, continuum etc. I would just rather use my notebook or workstation. Phone features are more important than half baked desktop functions to me.

I was showing Kojackwife the new pixel and all the great features it has for her and her work with the meeting transcription and summarizing built into the phone. That will make her work life MUCH better instead of having to write out the transcripts, the pixel will give her the rough draft automatically with summaries, then she can go in and just make changes as needed. I am getting the pro for the extra photo awesomeness. Can't wait to be not tied to the applesphere for a change. She's excited for some customizing freedoms as well.
