  1. I will keep you posted when I get my invite. I have been waiting for this for ages.
  2. Cool, will do. I have an android phone I was waiting for this to become a thing for way less than 10 a month. It's not a huge amount but at this point, everything adds up. I am gone to check about their payments now!

    ....

In all fairness serpro, he did not start the other one. This thread is about him buying a new computer, while the other one is someone else. I think it's fine...but the childish insults are dumb for sure!
  4. Oh, forgot, I have an Epson ecotank turned into a sublimation printer for our graphics business. Just slipped my mind. ha ha.
  5. We got our new watches. I ordered the 8 for me after as well. The ultra was just too big, had sharp uncomfortable edges around the screen and was just crazy money. If I am going to spend that much on a watch it will be a real watch that don't stop getting software updates after a few years because apple wants to sell you a new watch. It is a nice toy though!
  6. One of the best phones ever made is still going strong. The Note 9. I love the design of that phone. I wish I could get the roms loaded on the N/A versions. But Samsung locked the qualcomm versions and only left the exnyos versions unlocked.
  7. I let my Beeper invite go past since there is a new app called sunbird coming out as well. They will have web/android support. Best part it's free unlike beeper which is 10 bucks American per month. A bit to much for what I want. Now, if Microsoft can reliably give me the basics I am cool with that. I just want to send and receive messages via my pc when I am working instead of having to pick up my phone to respond which may be on my other desk charging etc. Keep me up to date on the beeper thing though.
  8. That's exactly what I'm talking about. Quality control.
  9. Yes, it's restricted like alcohol is up here. between 19 and 21 before you can purchase depending on the province. And zen has everything to do with getting stoned. Sit back, enjoy some tunes, or movie and some tasty food. ZEN!
  10. I am close to buying a 770 too for when I go 13th gen and I can take advantage of the extra speed for creative work
  11. Yeah, I knew what you were wanting to do, but not sure if that could be possible with just TV inputs. That box will work, make sure you get the 1080p version.
  12. I think the best you can do is onboard PIP. I have never heard of a TV that can output 4 sections at once. I am moving to a 43" 4k tv next week for my display. I have my 2 24inch monitors and I don't like the offset monitors. I am going to get one big one and split screen using software for windows etc.
  13. I have a few around running right now. I have an HP envy 9500 (I think), for my main printer, An Epson XP15000 for my photography printing business, and I also have a canon multiprinter in my wife's office for her work.
  14. Perfect. It's not a Pentium core processor, it's something else. I cannot remember what it is right now, but I will get the new monitor and fire it up. I just want to use it to fool around with open source software to see what can be done with it.
  15. Say it ain't so. I called that out years ago on the other forum. Tongfang are not the be all end all, not even by a long shot.
  16. Well both my wife and I are re configuring our workspaces now and we are replacing our monitors with a 32 inch 4k for her and I am getting a 43 inch 4k with HDR10 for photo/video/graphics. I had my dual monitor setup on a different desk. It worked better there. As one monitor was in front of me and the other was off to the side a bit. now, both are in front of me and doing productivity work like writing, spreadsheets, etc is more uncomfortable as I have to look to the side and I cannot have the application right in front of me. I will give a report on the wife's setup first as I can get her display today in town. Mine is coming from amazon so I have to wait for a bit on that one. Anyone want to buy a 24" dell ultrasharp? I also have an HP 22" ips that wifey is using currently. My ultrasharp 24" touchscreen will be going to my son for his computer.
  17. I think my xeon chipped little server will be fine hardware wise. As long as it will recognize the pci e nvme card. I want to put the OS on an ssd then have 4 drives for storage.
  18. I will post photos when my music room/studio is back to working order after the sewer backup. I can post a list of my gear now...I would love to see everyones! My gear is as follows. - squier classic vibe 60s FSR strat in lake placid blue, modified with Vineham blk1 pickups. (custom one off set made for me by Craig) - squier deluxe strat in pearl white with GFS double stacked hot pickups and preamp in tone 2 location and pickup toggle to run 3 pickups together. - squier classic vibe 60s FSR tele with vineham custom tele pickups and 5 way toggle mod. - fender professional strat - stock - no need for any changes with this one. olive green with maple fretboard - vester acoustic martin copy. This one was rescued from a house fire. I used to own a fire/water restoration company and this one came to us as salvage. I went to work repairing it and it's my favorite acoustic in my collection - Takamine G series cutaway drednaught. - Takamine Jasmine series no cutaway. This one plays better than 3/4 of the multi thousand dollar taks I have played - squier mini strat (my son's little screamer guitar). - Yamaha ds series 12 string. Wonderful sounding guitar. - fender mustang GTX 100 amp - Fender Mustang 3 in custom built cabinet and 2 12 inch speakers - fender mustang 1 in custom cabinet with 2 10 inch speakers - line 6 spider 5 mk2 60w - line 6 pod go - Hohner vintage two level organ with Leslie speaker etc (needs a bit of work to bring back to perfect) - Yamaha clavanova electric piano - Yamaha prs synth midi'ed to PC for infinite sounds. Some other stuff I am forgetting... Give the list of your gear and photos!
  19. why not just do a mobo replacement. Quick easy fix. You still have your machine for sentimental value, and it works again.
  20. I have my old dell 5368 2 in 1 and I am thinking about repairing the screen and firing it up to test linux distros. I will install 16gb of ram and a 512gb ssd back into it. I want to play with linux and all that free software. But I don't want to use my main systems.
  21. I have been doing alot of reading etc about doing this system. TrueNAS is an open source software package that I think will create the raid array for me. No limitation. I am going to be adding a 256gb ssd on a PCI adapter (if I can) for OS, so my 4 hotswaps are Nothing but storage. I am adding 16gb of ram to it, and I need to cut a hole in the back of the case to mount the 120mm arctic cooling fan I have. I had bought 2 120mm fans for a project build and the case had provisions for 92mm and I didn't notice. So, I have two of these fans. One will be used on this system, the other will be sold. This project will be moving along quickly now, I almost have my new office setup done and I am putting the editing system in it's new home today.
  22. I am looking at adding an ssd for OS use in my little acer. Can I use a PCI-E adapter to put an ssd in it and use for OS/Boot drive? Then, I would use the 4 hotswaps for storage. UGREEN NVMe PCIe Adapter, M.2 SSD M Key and M&B Key to PCIe 4.0 Adapter X4/X8/X16 Slot Card with Heat Sink, Up to 64Gbps Max, Size for NVMe M.2 SSD 2230/2242/2260/2280 : Amazon.ca: Electronics
  23. I am looking at installing this on my acer server and just make it a NAS box. Anyone have any thoughts or experience with this OS/Software? TrueNAS CORE | The World's Most Popular Open Storage OS
