I did this mod to my RTX 2080 200W too! Works great! Holds stable 2Ghz core under heavy load and the spikes down did literally disappear! I did add 5 poscaps too! Thanks a lot!

Hardware programmer. You are just out of other options. You have to flash the original bios on the bios chip directly with programmer.

I think the main difference come from the fact that MSI Stealth 17 has 105W (+25W) RTX 4080. there is no way for RTX 3080 to be faster than 150W (+25W) RTX 4080 or even close… -

Yes, this one with 8 holes from the link is plug and play with RTX3xxx. The one I bought it (not listed on AliExpress anymore) is not. -

Terrible thermal pads placement...the contact with the die is very poor. Use softer thermal pads. -
As far as I know there is no way to get G-Sync back. It was one of the reasons I didn‘t pulled the trigger upgrading my RTX 2080 to 3080.

If you already have the one from AliExpress, it‘s not worthy to invest for another one as this laptop is pretty much at the end of it‘s life - 9900K is old, RTX2080 - too. Better invest in some of the new 4090 monsters and consider further cooling improvements there.

It looks great, but I just spend 200€ a month on the custom heatsink from AliExpress… it has 6 (3 shared) heatpipes for the CPU and 5 (3 shared) for the GPU. Do you think the one from TaoBao would be much better?

Yes, mainly in Warzone with vRAM above +700 OC. In TimeSpy, Battlefield V and 2042 there is no such a problem…

Is it possible because 2080S has better OC potential than 2080 which I have? Someone knows what those artifacts indicate? get them occasionally when playing Warzone at any value above 700Mhz vRam. Showing when the system heats up: I am using those thermal pads (I am not sure if they are real 12,8W/mK):

Is it just my insanity or unstable UVed CPU works hotter than stable UVed???🙄 My 9900K works cooler at stable -100mV than at -125mV unstable where generates L1 cache errors in CineBench....

Don’t worry, the difference isn’t significant at all between 150W and 165W and I wish you from the bottom of my heart to get your hands on one of the new RTX 4090 monsters ASAP!😊 Besides, 528.24 will serve you well at least an year ahead. I think though that our machines are singing already the final chords of their swan song anyway. I’ll hold my sig for another year and a half and I’ll jump on 4080/4090.
