Notebook Review forum archive – NBRCHIVE

Recommended Posts

Finally had time to finish my pagination script.  It's running right now, so in a few hours, all long threads should be paginated and won't choke your browser.  50 posts per page.

Example: https://www.nbrchive.net/xfa/2015-alienware-13-15-17.1119/1070 GTX Micron Memory Global Issues - GPU firmware update needed/

Next up is finishing up connecting the "pretty" version of the thread list to all of these downloaded threads.  After that, it's basically just polishing / presentation improvements that I want to work on.

I also noticed that Google has finally started indexing NBRCHIVE.  Only a few results right now but it's been increasing over the last couple of days.

Moving stuff around in my basement earlier, the server was briefly offline.

Is there by chance one of Dsanke's Clevo Bios?

I'm looking for a p775 tm1g bios for gpu and cpu compatibility.

Looks like @jaybee83 already dug out an old thread on this here:

https://notebooktalk.net/topic/413-clevo-p751dm2-g-xmg-u507-prema-bios/?do=findComment&comment=6802&_rid=111

https://www.nbrchive.net/xfa/sager-and-clevo.1017/Coffee Lake BIOS updates P751DM2-G/

The download link appears to be password protected but the invite to their Discord group in that archived post still appears to be active as one contact method, along with a Gmail/Hangouts address. As an alternative it looks like dsanke is still active on this forum:
https://winraid.level1techs.com/u/dsanke
So you could also try contacting them directly there.

Thank you but I managed to get a dsanke bios from someone else and followed the tutorial to upgrade the bios so everything is all good now 🙂

Is there any way to see topics from the old site anymore?  I would love to get some information off the aspire 7720 thread that was created.  The OP replaced the LCD with a UHD version and I would love to be able to get the part number for that.

It is admittedly quite slow by modern web surfing standards.

I myself have had success using the archive using Brave, which is based on Chrome if memory serves me correctly.

I got on there, but could not find the thread I was looking for.  I go to the "waybackmachine" and all the threads won't open.

There was only a week of time to archive the entire forum so way back machine isn't likely to have it all since anti ddos measures were still in place.

Otherwise we catalogue the entire forum save for things that didn't directly pertain to laptops (off topic, marketplace, news, what laptop should I buy? Etc etc)

@Aaron44126 and @Sandy Bridge were the real master minds, all I did was lend them a dozen VPN's to get around the DDOS measures. If we archived too quickly it would cut you off iirc so we took a quantity over quality approach, divided up the labor so that we could get it all before it was gone forever.

Perhaps we could look into integration at some point, All of us have been busy IRL taking advantage of what ever work comes our way.

It appears to be loading up for me albeit with a bit of time lag, mind you it is privately hosted by @Aaron44126 perhaps he was working on some maintenance. Everything ok on your end @Aaron44126

Some of the categories are very large, and not all of them have been paginated.  Give it a minute (literally) to load, and it will.

If there's a sub-forum you plan to visit frequently, it may be a good idea to save its page offline.  For example, it takes about 30 seconds to load the Dell category for me, but if I save it locally, it only takes a second or two to load locally, and the links to the archive from my locally-saved copy still load up over the Internet.

Desktop: Core i5 2500k "Sandy Bridge" | RX 480 | 32 GB DDR3 | 1 TB 850 Evo + 512 GB NVME + HDDs | Seasonic 650W | Noctua Fans | 8.1 Pro

Laptop: MSI Alpha 15 | Ryzen 5800H | Radeon 6600M | 64 GB DDR4 | 4 TB TLC SSD | 10 Home

Laptop history: MSI GL63 (2018) | HP EliteBook 8740w (acq. 2014) | Dell Inspiron 1520 (2007)
