I'm surprised nobody at oc.net has jumped on those CPUs and the motherboard combo. They must be scared because of the recent marketplace fraud outbreak, but maybe the guy that bought that one part being first to go out on a limb will break the ice. A number of PMs with interest. All of the CPUs are better than average samples, they just were not my best samples. Brother @Clamibot got one of them. The person that bought the white Apex got the other one.

I think the AMD craze drives them at the moment. Speculations of course.

What is funny is the 13900KS in the Strix mobo (part of the combo for sale) is running the AMD EXPO memory at 6400 with tight timings. It's almost identical in AIDA64 benchmark as the 9950X with painstakingly tuned 8000. Intel still stomps AMD on memory performance with faster read/write/copy and lower latency running 1600 MT/s slower than AMD.

 

The 9950X beats it on all-core brute force, but loses on memory performance, latency and single through 16 thread performance. It's only when the weak baby girl smartphone cores are needed that the 14900KS can't beat the 9950X on highly threaded workloads. The 8 cores and 16 threads on the second 9950X CCD run at about 1.0GHz faster than the 13th and 14th Gen Atom cores can run.

I was actually thinking about that earlier today whilst at work, couldnt help but notice that people overall were looking for simple guides on how to do this at least for the vbios part. As for the EVC2SE once I have that sorted I can drum something up. From what I understand it shouldnt be too overly involved. 

Nothing like the E-Power or Zombie power mods of yore.

Not much of an upgrade. More vram is welcome but the rest is the same. Will probably come with an increased price. But with this refresh Nvidia have made room for the 5090DD for China and a possible 5080Ti

Plenty of 5090s available at MC now along with Newegg (which is still only selling Suprim's in combo BS).....

 

Even a decent amount of 9070xt's including the Taichi I originally wanted at an already inflated launch MSRP of $729.99 but it is now officially $850 and basically DOA to me at that price point.

I Expect Nvidia need all defective/cutdown GB202  they can find for a possible 5090DD for China market. If that's  the case not even sure we will see 5080Ti. And if they do the 5080Ti they will certainly be +-1600$. Maybe the 5080 will live aside the 5080 Super (to be able  to offer a $1000 card). Or the whole range need a mid cycle upgrade if Nvidia put the 5080 Super closer to $1200. Nvidia need the $1000 card to compete with AMDs 9070XT. If we don't see a real upgrade as etc xx70Ti Super priced $899.

I just watched this and I expected worse to be honest.

 

8GB is trash overall, but it had the best cost per frame and was beating the 4060 pretty handily.

If they had offered it with 12gb of memory it would be an acceptable $300 card but the problem is going to be the 9060 XT 16GB at $350.

Innovation at it's best. When aRGB ain't enough to trick you into pay more. Same as with modern AIOs. A small screen on everything to increase the prices.

 

V-Color puts displays on memory modules tomshardware.com

 

Of course, screens on the side of memory modules add to the cost, but since they represent a unique feature, enthusiasts will likely be willing to pay extra to have it.

id actually be highly interested in one of those cpus for my lady's machine. only issue being that i need one with iGPU enabled, so no dice unfortunately.

If you are interested in the 13900KS that is currently bundled with the Strix motherboard I can unbundle it. Shoot me a PM if you do want to. It is a better than average silicon sample.

The end game is obviously a system that looks like it stepped right out of Cyberpujnk / Blade Runner with every component neon lights 'esque lit up.

Im probably only getting a taste of what @Mr. Fox might be feeling when it concerns this hobby of overclocking. It dawned on me that even with an AQUAS vBIOS which allows for 550w TDP I am still "tuning" for the highest clock for a given voltage. The lower the voltage the higher the score. 

This is with a fresh install of Windows 11 IOT, visual set to performance, monitors unplugged save for a 1080p144hz panel and waiting for it to settle at 22-23c before launching the benchmark.

 

Still 1000+ points between me and the top spot.

Coil whine and that weird electrical noise. This is like my bud's 5090 FE exactly except frame / load changes would seesaw and scale up and down. Still not as bad as my 3090 FE.

 

You could give me a 5090 FE or one of these 6000 cards, and if it sounded anything like this, it would be insta sold and marked as pure trash in my book.
