And I can appreciate how ASUS set these two bios up. The quiet bios does not cap max TGP like most GPU’s with a dual bios option would. The quiet bios is 360-450w, and the performance bios is 400-450w. The Performance bios only runs a much more aggressive fan curve, so much so that you can hear the GPU just a bit. That rear fan noise everyone talks about on the Astral’s. Well, the quiet bios still has a 450w limit, but runs a much quieter fan curve. And the card has such an overkill cooler, you can’t even notice it temp wise. So the quiet bios is just better. No need to mess with the fan curves, this bios has them set up well. Im starting to like this card. 😭 May sell the Zotac instead. generate image code for forums If it wasn't too much more than the Zotac, I'd keep the Astral unless you find a buyer for $1500. But I decided, what the heck am I doing with my life right now lol… Let me just keep the 5080 Astral and be happy with it. It’s so tempting to jump on that 5090 though. That's a good call. If the price was close enough (~300-400), I would have kept the Astral most likely too. I still love the way it looks and that cooler is lights out especially on a 5080. If I ever contemplated stepping down to a 5080 to pocket $$$, Astral would be high on the list along with Gigabyte SFF and the new PNY 5080 SLIM for obvious reasons among all of them. Gigabyte SFF 5080 is on sale at Microcenter for $1199.99 But yeah, logic can go right out the window because on one hand, it is only money while time is meant to be enjoyed in the now and you'll never get back the next year+ with a potential 5090 vs a 5080. On the other hand, it IS money and cost counts so I get it. 4 hours ago, Mr. Fox said: You made a decision based on logic rather than passion. Also Super cards here on the list again.... There is certainly some truth in that and we are all guilty of wanting the best. I'm guilty as charged. Passion often overshadows prudence. In the moments I set that aside and think rationally about the cost to benefit I realize that if I do not have an overlay telling me what my FPS are in the fleeting moments I find time for gaming I do not enjoy playing less on the 5080 vs 5090 and the same was true of the Arc GPU, 9070 XT and 4090, 3090, 3090 Ti and other video cards I have spent absurd amount of money on. I can tell the difference if I am focusing on max performance, but if the game runs smoothly and I am enjoying the game, the GPU it is running on isn't something I think about. It only actually matters when the experience is adversely impacted. Most of the time it is not. If I spent a lot of time running something like Micro$lop Flight Simulator, a 5090 would be the only fantastic option because the experience is impaired in a very noticeable way. (Thankfully, I have no interest in that title whatsoever, or I would likely have wasted money on two 5090s for the sake of playing.) 1 1 WRAITH | X870E Apex | 9950X | RTX 5090 | 32GB DDR5 @ 8200 | O11D XL EVO | HC-500A Chiller BANSHEE | B850MPOWER | 4585PX | RTX 5080 | 48GB DDR5 @ 8000 | O11D Mini V2 Mr. Fox YouTube Channel | Mr. Fox @ HWBOT

[BETA] Memory Foundry Pro – RAM Stability Tester & Benchmark | Free Beta Access It also has a built-in benchmark tool. https://www.overclock.net/posts/29592248/ Ryzen is weird in a lot of ways coming from Intel, especially on memory overclocking. Results are very similar with looser timings at the same MT/s speed. The looser timings allow lower voltage and it has a very tiny effect on benchmarks and probably zero effect on what you could feel or see outside of a memory benchmark. On a CPU with 3D vCache the difference matters even less, but latency takes a minor hit in memory benchmarks. I think my preference at this point is a CPU without any 3D cache. https://www.overclock.net/attachments/1781114307488-png.2769551/ Edit: I have noticed that the 9950X (X870E Apex) is consistently lower benchmark score versus 4585PX (B850MPOWER). Not sure if that is because of the latter CPU having 3D cache. Checking the box to force thread affinity on the 9950X (no 3D cache) produces consistently lower benchmark scores than when the box is left unchecked. Loosening tRFC (to equal 120) and setting tRAS and tRC to JEDEC standards, and changing tWRWRSCL from 1 to 8 increased the Memory Foundry benchmark score. AIDA64 benchmark remained essentially the same before/after on read/write/copy. tRAS, tRC and tWRWRSCL changed nothing with AIDA64 results other than LOWERING (improving) latency by 5 to 8 ns with those values loosened. The latency improved in both AIDA64 and Memory Foundry benchmarks with those loosened. @elbramso https://www.overclock.net/attachments/1781113928578-png.2769547/ 1 WRAITH | X870E Apex | 9950X | RTX 5090 | 32GB DDR5 @ 8200 | O11D XL EVO | HC-500A Chiller BANSHEE | B850MPOWER | 4585PX | RTX 5080 | 48GB DDR5 @ 8000 | O11D Mini V2 Mr. Fox YouTube Channel | Mr. Fox @ HWBOT

electrosoft Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago So I finally finished putting together the secondary system (again) for my daughter to play on / for me to tinker with the 270k on the Strix-A z890 with the Crucial Vengeance 9200 sticks and dusted off the Red Devil 9070xt. Setting up to triple boot CachyOS, Win11 and Win 10. Win11 for her, Win10 for me, CachyOS to try it out as I've never used that distro before: Testing wise, this 270k is superior to my 265k for memory OC. First 265k couldn't do anything over 8400 G2, second was superior as it topped out at 8933 G2. The 270k maxed out my MB capabilities which is 9066 (in it's defense, that is what it is rated) G4 tested before with the 265k's. This 270k does 9066 G2 and that is at pure stock settings. Wish I had a better motherboard to see where it can go, but with Nova Lake so close I'm kinda good where I am. After the Z890 Hero and Apex fiasco, not sure if I want to bin MBs. Maybe step out of the Asusphere and give MSI a try if a cheap one pops up. I'll tune profiles from 8000->9066 G2 for testing and playtime when my daughter isn't using it for diving back into WoW and Hogwarts. Vengeance 9200 sticks can do up to 8933 with no extra cooling even with these trash heatsinks from Corsair. After that, they need a fan on them or temps run away (pushing 80) and eventually fail as expected. Gaming wise, X3D as previously reported is king for Fallout 76, but the 9070xt is not a bad card for Fallout 76. At 4k, I saw some decent spots being optimized into the 80s. I might retest it in my main rig as a daily driver to really soak it in. I'm going to use the wife's system (where I have a Steam dir) to also retest with her 9070xt and the tuned 14900KS. 270k at 4k on the 9070xt has the 9070xt gasping for air just like the 14900ks. In the end, the 9070xt is basically a 5070ti with small dips approaching 5080 performance. Still love this red devil though watching it hit 3300+ at stock in Fallout. It has basically no coil whine and runs stupidly cool. Much better than the gigabyte in the wife's system which is still a good card and hits ~3100 at stock. 2 Electrosoft Alpha: 9800X3D | Asus X870E Hero Crosshair | MSI Vanguard RTX 5090 OC | AC LF II 420 | TG 2x24GB 8200 @ 8000 tuned | Samsung 9100 Pro 2TB | EVGA 1600w P2 | Phanteks Ethroo Pro | Asus XG32UQDMS 32" QD-OLED Heath: i9-14900KS SP109 | AC LF III 360 | Asus Strix Z690 D4 | Gigabyte 9070XT Gaming OC Edition| 32GB DDR4 2x16GB B-Die 4000 | Samsung 980 1TB Pro | Antec Flux Pro | Alienware AW3225QF 32" OLED Electrosoft Mobile: Alienware Area-51 18 | 275HX | Nvidia RTX 5070ti | 32GB DDR5 6400 |Gen 5 2TB | 18" QHD | WiFi 7

The media hates Trump and Trump supporters and everything they publish is fabricated, spun or taken out of context. The Trump Organization is a massive business empire that has nothing to do with his political office They hate Trump, Musk and all other successful business men that are not supporting of the leftist agenda. Dual Astral’s. @electrosoft This 5090 Astral maxes out at 1075MV which I’m perfectly happy with that. My 5080 Astral only maxed out at 1065MV which I’m fine with as well, but it just didn’t clock all that well. Anyways, this 5090 Astral is already showing some good results. The 5080 Astral just wasn’t a strong OCer over my Zotac 5080’s even running 20c + cooler than the Zotac’s.. I was seriously expecting the 5080 Astral OC to hit like SUB 3.3Ghz in games on the factory 450w bios. 3 13900KF
