Totally portable nothing to install. The reason I know this is because I got lucky on the first try. I didn't have to research or find a solution. Once in awhile I get lucky. @Etern4lI'd be surprised if the portable EXE version did not run on Linux the way so many other games do that aren't supposed to. If I have time I'll try it later today. Well, I tried Lutris, latest libs, DLSS support etc. Hard crash somewhere in unityplayer, no debug info. could have been because I had less than 2GB of VRAM available at the time, but then would expect an appropriate error message. Good luck, you might need it with this one bro. I mean @Custom90gt didn't manage to run it on Windoze.... probably fair to assume it’s not the most stable and polished piece of software. 2 "We're rushing towards a cliff, but the closer we get, the more scenic the views are." -- Max Tegmark AI: Major Emerging Existential Threat To Humanity

As a Unity developer myself (as in I develop games using Unity, not the engine), I stick to the LTS releases of the editor because of weird things that can happen with alpha and non LTS verisons. Perhaps you can try downloading the latest 2022 LTS version of the editor and try importing the Enemies demo package into a new HDRP project created using that editor version. Edit: Oh I see, the package was developed with a 2023 version. Yeah that explains why your editor has unexplained crashes. There is no 2023 LTS version of the editor yet. Insufficient VRAM would go a long way towards explaining the catastrophic slowdown. Did you actually observe VRAM being full (HWInfo etc) Perhaps @Clamibot can suggest some command line trick to scale the assets down so it all fits in 6GB... I assume you tried the the FHD-low preset, but perhaps there is more than can be done. 2 1 "We're rushing towards a cliff, but the closer we get, the more scenic the views are." -- Max Tegmark AI: Major Emerging Existential Threat To Humanity
ryan
I got it running on low but its slower than molasses. my take It looks better than crysis 3 well the facial details which I have not seen in the 10 years crysis 3 has been out. but crysis 3 zoomed in on the face gets 100plus fps at 4k and if I tried to run this benchmark at 4k I would be getting less than half a frame per second, which doesnt make alot of sense, just how many polygons is this thing pushing 20 million on the face haha. Mr. Fox
OK, finally had a chance to do some tuning. Since I need to work tomorrow I spent most of the day getting my home office back in order. I now have the open bench connected to my triple-screen setup and the Alphacool 1080 radiator on a temporary basis. All of the parts that will go into the work PC when the be quiet! case gets here are in a box. The parts I sold are all boxed up and ready to ship tomorrow. It's 49 pounds worth in a box that measures 24x20x21 inches. I hope the UPS delivery person is not a wimp, LOL. @tps3443it's all looking good. So far it seems like it's runing close to the same as the Z690 Dark. The voltage settings are a bit higher on the Apex, but not by a lot. I can't figure out how to disable Intel Guardband. It is either not there in the BIOS or ASUS decided to call it something else. 8200 stable is no problem. For some reason the ASUS BIOS skips over CL35. I ran that on the Dark, but it goes from 34 to 36. Memory latency performance is a tiny bit worse and it needs 100mV more TX voltage. But if you can keep temp below 24-25C inside with an AC unit it helps a lot. I feel the problems come if the indoor temp start passing 26-27C. If its above 30C inside I start to have some real problems. Now in the night I have 25C innside with the windows up and 20.5C outside. 25C inside is okish to sit in but more difficult if you try sleep in the nights. As it is now... Difficult to sleep well. Temp in the nights should be more like 20-22C then it would be easier to come in sleep. I may buy an heatpump for the fall/winter. This way I can have both the heat capacity in the winters (in combination with wood oven/oven as well have the aircondition funtionality the few weeks I need it in the summer. A heatpump isn't enough when the cold start... You need woodoven also. Middle Norway and further North and a heatpump ain't enough to heat up houses. They are only effecive from zero to 10 minus. But I really need that AC functionality now, HaHa It cost around $2500-2800 but I will save some money on the heat functionality in the winters. I mean it will offer 3.5 times more heat for same amount money for each KW/h. So after 8 years it may pay off. Same time save my life in the summer 🙂 3 1 "The Killer" ASUS ROG Z790 Apex Encore | 14900KS | 4090 HOF + 20 other graphics cards | 32GB DDR5 | Be Quiet! electrosoft
Plight of the 13900ks and the MSI Z790i Edge: I've been testing the 13900k on the MSI Z790I Edge ITX board in my tried and true workhorse test bench Corsair 540. I'm thinking I might have to send it back but the problem may exist on other ITX boards too. At first, it ran at 5ghz with CB23 at ~35k no matter what I did so I started digging around in the BIOS and MSI defaults to ~307a versus 512a. I manually switched it back and the 13900ks was now running full tilt (ish). In hindsight this might be a purposeful choice on their part. With default power MSI style (supplying too much) and amps adjusted accordingly, the board by nature is limited to 300w (single CPU power in like all ITX boards basically) so initial runs were hitting the 300w cap resulting in ~38k. You can tell at best this board is designed right around a normal 13900k and down. I've been playing with lite load (aka MSI speak for LLC) and undervolting and reached a maximal equivalent of Mode 5 = -0.100 UV which keeps the CPU easily under the 300w cap and CB23 temp at ~68-71c. Then I did some stability runs. Mode 5 crashes out at ~6min but using a stock UV of -0.100 it has no problems since auto LLC can compensate if needed for those pesky transients. All is well, right? Nope. The 13900ks just pushes the poor VRMs to the brink. Even with the fan/cooling system on the VRMs coming to life, once the VRMs hit ~95c the whole board throttles and enters VRM throttling hell as it touches 95c, speeds drop immediately to 3200 (yes, 3200) from 5600. As soon as it backs off to ~93c, they go back up. Touches 95c again, back down they go....rinse/repeat. Meanwhile the CPU is sitting well under 300w in all cases and temps never leave the 70s even at full proper load sustained till the VRMs hit 95c and back down we go. I remember having this exact same problem with an Asrock Z390 Taichi years ago with a 9900ks before switching to an EVGA Z390 Classified and suddenly all those problems went away with better VRMs and VRM cooling. Mind you, this is in a completely open case (as pictured) for testing with plenty of outside cooling. Putting this motherboard in a cramped, hot ITX case with a GPU also in there? I'm sure my normal D2D use would most likely not push the VRMs this hard but still to know under sustained load the VRMs give up the ghost... I retested on my "lowly" Strix Z690 D4 set for a 30 min stability test with the 13900ks and the VRMs held strong the entire time not even breaking into the 80s. Score one for Asus here. I'm thinking of reversing direction and moving the 13900ks to the desktop and building out the 7800X3D into an ITX juggernaut now since it consumes a fraction of the power. Ugh.... 3 2 Electrosoft Prime: SP109 14900KS | Asrock Z790i Lightning | MSI Suprim X Liquid 4090 | AC LF II 420 | TG 2x16GB 8200 | Samsung 990 Pro 2TB | EVGA 1600w P2 | Phanteks Ethroo Pro | Alienware AW3225QF 32" OLED Heath: i9-12900k | EVGA CLC 280 | Asus Strix Z690 D4 | Asus Strix 3080 | 32GB DDR4 2x16GB B-Die 4000 | WD Black SN850 512GB | EVGA DG-77 | Samsung G7 32" 144hz 32" My for sale items on eBay. Ugh.... I wonder what would happen if you took apart the motherboards and revised their thermal pad/thermal paste/ heatsink mounting a little bit. Maybe even put one of those big Optimus Fujipoly pads on the entire backside of the motherboard VRM area. Or maybe some small little fans or something. 1 1 13900KF

So I think about $750 for two with okish quality. No point in buying one that don't do a good job. I expect that for the cheapest. But have both the heat and the AC functionalty in one unit and you will save money after around 8 years. Maybe even before if the high prices on electricity continue. 750$ for lets say 4 weeks a year is still a lot money. And I won't get any use of it rest of the year. 2 "The Killer" ASUS ROG Z790 Apex Encore | 14900KS | 4090 HOF + 20 other graphics cards | 32GB DDR5 | Be Quiet! You can hook up a Mora3 or Pora3 to a waterchiller set the water to the coldest temp, blast all of the 120MM fans at 2,000RPM+ and you can cool down a room pretty quickly!!! 🤣 that air coming off the radiator fans is so COLD. Not only is it colder than my vents in my house A/C but It blows equivalent to maybe 3-4 of them. I’m just joking here ^ but it absolutely works. 2 13900KF
