This could be worse. +80% Asic and Samsung Vram. But if I remember correctly... The Gainward GTX570 card had Asic above 86% and Samsung Vram

Screenshot-169.png

Msi strikes once again. Yup, more trash coming from MSI. Trash Asic score. Their best GTX570 card offer 73.8% vs cheapo Gainward's 86%. On top... You get Hynix vram. Want Samsung vram then you need to go with cheapo Gainward. I can clearly see MSI value their customers.

As well, MSI don't offer support with their OC tools for own older cards. If you want MSI Afterburner OC tools to works then you need to buy another brand cards. Once again Asus will save you with their always working GPUTweak tool for voltage adjustments. Yup... If you keep your new cards and be you sure you'll be screwed by MSI in the end. Do you like stupidity + trash brand bro @Mr. Fox?

Of course I also got trash when bought their 4090 flagship. It was doomed to happen. Not sure how many MSI cards I have tried but I have got a lot junk from that company. They are in top 1 regarding offering me pure Junk or better say trash.

I think this will be the last card I will ever buy from MSI. Get them cheap doens't matter.

igrQWN0.jpg

$22.34 USD incl shipping down the drain. No point continue benching this card. Running all too hot and with all too low clocks. Both the vram and the cores is trash. I feel sorry for the person that bought this utter junk from MSI for +$320 when it was out for sale in the days. Thanks.... MSI🤮🤮🤮

Edit. Yup Gainward crush MSI. And MSI put whatever bin quality they have avaliable to sell even their flagship cards. Nothing can beat greed/stupidity. If you don'thave proper binned chips... Then just wait until you can offer what people should expect from their flagship.

The 7900xtx is a great card. It is a beast at rasterization, and the price has come down a bit since launch. He really can't go wrong with purchasing it.

Trying to sell the extra 8000mhz kit I have here on FB, and the clowns I get are amazingly ignorant. "That kit is only $120 new", "there is no difference between 6000mhz, and 8000mhz", "you are stupid, you will never get $180 for it"....The level of stupidity is astounding!

Well, I managed to flush her out, new hoses, new fittings, new paste, I just haven't found a spot for the manifold yet. Coolant looks as it should, and the old stuff was definitely yellow for some reason. Looks a little cleaner with the smaller OD lines.

Oh yeah, I replaced the cpu water block with the replacement Raijintek sent. (After 7 months) 🤣

20240303_183605.jpg

That looks great. Nice job.

You will likely need more tubing once you get the manifold installed as the two short runs to/from the CPU block will need to be longer to reach the manifold. It looks like you have enough space to attach it to the front panel fans using the brackets they provided. I'm guessing the fan in the middle. You could maybe also attach it directly to your pump out line with a rotary fitting with male G1/4 threads on both ends.

Yup, the GTX 570 MSI junk will be removed, put in a drawer and will be used as spareparts for rest of my old MSI cards.  I can't accept trash anymore from a company that don't even try to support own products through it's lifespan.

But here is my new "old" baby. Just arrived papusan's plaza. So more pict for the pict lover @electrosoft😀 Say hello to the old dusty EVGA GTX780 Classified. Enjoy.

EVGA never released an GTX 780 Classy k|ngp|n card. Only for the Ti model.... In short the EVGA GTX780 Classified was their best SKU for GTX 780 lineup. I have added my EVGA GTX 980 Classified K|ngp|n in the pict below.

Here below the successor for GTX 780. The EVGA GTX 980 Classified K|ngp|n. Nvidia never released a 8xx graphics cards for desktops. They only released re-hashed 8xx series graphics cards for Jokebooks to milk even more $$$ from the laptop jockey's. You can easily see that the GPU design is EVGA at it's best.

Thanks for this. Even though I am a subscriber to Stephen's channel, I never saw a notification. Typical of YouTube to do that with small channels, like his and mine, that are not making them gobs of money. When you combine all of the little channels together, YouTube is making money off the channels in the aggregate, but the channel owners are not benefitting.

I left a comment for him.

YouTube at it's core. It sucks if you aren't big. A few words from out old friend.

Loving the cards as always 🙂

As for YT, If you take it as a fun outlet, it is wonderful; but once you start trying to make it a money making business, like most businesses, it will fail and the work for casual when you want content vs the content YT viewers expect is massive.

I've seen numerous favorite YTers just back off the money making model and go back to just enjoying putting up content when they want to and they've recaptured their joy and lowered their stress.

I have a couple family members and friends beating their heads against the wall trying so hard to grow on YT and grow their brand and it's painful to watch.

As much as I enjoy Ownordisown, I can clearly see what it hasn't taken off same as like BPS Customs. Two good channels that lack charisma (very important) and content production that are clearly below the production level of even a Jay or PC Centric or similar. It's not just about spitting information. I can go read that myself on numerous websites. It is about being engaging, personable and having good ole curb side appeal while presenting polished content that is engaging.

Nevermind there are hundreds, if not thousands, of similar channels doing similar content. I always laugh when review embargos are lifted and the tidal wave of reviews that pop up on YT across hundreds of channels. Saturation is high plus a lot of channels that were getting extra views during the pandemic because people had nothing else to do now find their channels not watched as viewers have to prioritize their viewing time again as real life is back.

In the end, do it because you want to not because you want to make money. OoD switching to a, "I am just going to stream and do product reviews live," might be the best approach as it has minimal time commitment or production costs.

Exactly. If you do it when you have spare time, only because you want to, or because you have something that might be useful to someone looking for your content, it removes all of the stress that makes it a chore.

My videos that have the most views and likes are things like laptop teardowns, BIOS settings and how-to videos.

Product reviews are worthless to most subscribers. They are only interesting and useful to those thinking about buying that product. And, the amount of effort that goes into the product review makes it unenjoyable, not to mention often being worth more than the purchase price of the product.

Calculated based on an hourly wage basis, unless the product is worth at least $500 chances are very good you're not coming out ahead financially if you view your time as having value. Even when the product is free to you as the reviewer, your time is being donated for pennies on the dollar.

Also EVGA fail hard with their binning for their flagship graphics cards. Should not be possible bin from 68% and up to 92% ascic score for same SKU series. And on top their Classified cards. Isn't it disgusting bro @Mr. Fox?🙄

See also.... At the rear of the card we see a very large PCB. What baffles me though is that EVGA does not equip the card with a back plate, you need to optionally purchase it for 20 USD. That is not what I expect for a top / flagship / leading SKU.

GTX 780 ASIC Quality

xM1SKg6.jpg

Asic Quality 78.9%. Nothing fantastic for the GTX 780 Classified. But it's what it is. And this one need a re-paste. Runs quite hot with the XOC vbios and +1.3v on the cores

Hmmmm. AMD in the spotlight today🙂 And not because they shine.

AMD’s Lisa Su steps in to fix driver issues with GPUs in new TinyBox AI servers

The intervention comes as Tiny Box publicly frets about Radeon-based platform bugs

Open-source Nvidia Nouveau contributor confident driver will add HDMI 2.1 support, unlike AMD's troubles

"Even though AMD might not be able to add support for HDMI 2.1 [to open-source Linux drivers], Nouveau certainly will as Nvidia's open source driver also supports HDMI 2.1 so there is no reason to believe that at least some drivers can't support HDMI 2.1," Herbs wrote at Mastodon. "It is quite backwards, but apparently having all the logic inside firmware (like Nvidia does) will probably help us implementing support for HDMI 2.1."

Quote

Hmmmmm. WTF

But, it's Cablemod...... Yup, their QC is equal good as AMD's.

Edit. Working on a new wheel tower stand. The old one will soon collapse due to the heavy weight. The black box is well above +55kg now. And the new plate will be 40mm thick compared to the old one at 22mm. Better safe than sorry 🙂

The old wheel stand doesn't look safe anymore.

New plate

NEW.jpg

The new plate should be able to hold several hundereds kg. I mean the 4 wheels I use can keep up with a total of 300kg. Or 75kg for each wheel. And with this thicker plate I can use longer screws for the wheels for even more safety🙂

NEW-OLD.jpg

The Little Thief play with small balls around the pc so I added a guard under the plate. So no more fun for him, HaHa

I have one of these. It is very sturdy. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09SCYSFP9?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

Please of space for the huge case (can go even higher) and room for the pump and rads on top.

It is strange that GeoHotz is complaining about AMD's MES firmware being closed, when Nvidia's firmware is far more locked down than AMD's.

Essentially, GeoHotz is complaining that they [his company] can't use the 7900 XTX to compete with Nvidia OR AMD's AI product derivatives because AMD's firmware isn't open source. With his coding knowledge, I am surprised he hasn't cracked the firmware himself or written his own. I am also surprised that Lisa Su responded to his heckling on Twitter.

Its an unfortunate bi-product of the current times. Spend more time dealing with those with the loudest wailing instead of addressing probable constructive criticisms.

Some of the whiners were raised by parents that didn't require accountability, performance or obedience and didn't discipline bad behavior because they were too worried about what their woke yuppie friends would have to say about it. Sparing the rod almost always spoils the child and produces adults that are losers. Maybe a couple of public caning sessions would whip them into shape.

Not me. I think I'm good for now. I think it would be difficult to find one better than my SP117 13900KS. My SP102 14900K is decent, but even that one is inferior to that SP117 monster CPU. The P/E/MC are all super good on that one. The SP102 14900K has great P cores and MC, but the E cores are nothing to write home about.

Still waiting for Amazon to refund the garbage 14900K. I returned the 14900KF last week and already got that refund, but the 14900K that they have had since 2/19 is still pending.

So today I am officially declaring an end to my multiyear experiment. I read on a popular Geek site, years ago not to update your drivers in device manager. They said let windows update your devices, windows knows what it is doing. So on and off over the years I would and wouldn't during system renewals or recoveries update and not update. Today after 4 BSOD's I loaded iobit drive booster and updated what it could for free and went to techpowerup downloaded latest Visual-C-Runtimes-All-in-One-Feb-2024, xnafx40_redist.msi, oalinst.exe and did Firestrike like 6 or 7 times in a row and getting the number 1 top slot for my class in the world! 17-3920XM, RTX 3000 mobile on my 12 year old m18x r4  13 277 RTX 3000 i7-3920XM M18xR2

So lets break out our relics and beat this HAHA

Awesome. I'm glad that you took the time to evaluate that and come to your own conclusion.

I almost never let Windows Update install drivers. (I don't let Windows install most updates if I am honest about it, but especially not drivers.) They are often inferior. The latest WHQL drivers are frequently not the greatest. In fact, WHQL means nothing to me at this point. It's a worthless designation as far as I am concerned. Sometimes WHQL drivers are the least stable, and worst performance, but they are the only version the Redmond Reprobates have been paid a ransom fee to stamp with their seal of approval.

So now I keep a folder of all my backed up drivers to install when windows trips up and have to do a reinstall and yeah a ransom fee to stamp!
