Users who upgraded their Z790 motherboards with the newest BIOS thinking they would get two important features are not happy anymore. The latest beta BIOS was supposed to support the Core i9-14900KS processor and enable Intel APO support.

 

The new firmware contains a bug that may cause the BIOS to freeze. The UI may freeze after a period of time or when changing tabs. This renders the BIOS unusable for many users, and it seems to affect not just one motherboard but all boards that were recently updated.

 

See also.... Aorus/Gigabyte treat their desktop in same way as with Jokebooks with BGA hardware. Asus is a awful company but the competitors ain't much better. This is just equal disgusting as this company.

 

Media reports have also highlighted another issue: the lack of support for the 14900KS CPU on older Z690 motherboards. Gigabyte has not released a BIOS update for the older chipset that would support this CPU. In this case, affected users should be relieved that they didn’t update the BIOS right away, but only because Gigabyte hasn’t released any updates.

I walk several trips every day with my dog to keep my health in check so it doesn't get worse. This is the payback... I needed new good shoes. And exactly the same model as before. Viking made for Norwegians. Only $210 USD. These new one will serve me well the next two years. Why change when you know the old trusty model works? I use the same philosophy (“If it ain't broke, don't fix it”) for shoes as for firmware/bios and OS bro @Mr. Fox These hiking shoes is damn good for my feets. Newer models doesnt always mean better. And this is true in much of life @Rage Set🙂 Great that some companies keep their models unchanged over the years. Classic or good products do not need to be changed. The same as a wheel... You don't have to reinvent the wheel.

I still hit the gym and do all types of cardio to keep the wheels from falling off the chassis too including taking 45-90 minute walks. 50's are make or break time for males it seems. 🙄

looks like the osoyoos desert. parents live in a arizona like desert, nice too look at poor to live their. gets to hot, north of 42c. I live in one of the most boring bland place in canada, canada is known for its beautiful scenery and honestly theirs not much to say about medicine hat, easily takes the cake for being a slow thinking slow going city with no variety. those were the pros now onto the cons lol.

 

@talon is their a way to bump ram performance or speed without a bios mod, I fluked out that the 140w bios didn't wreck my system after 1 year but I feel uncomfortable modding things for ram. if there is let me know.

 

got my highest gpu score in time spy, hard to beileve a year or so ago I was getting 9200 thinking I really pushed my system, but with drivers/os/tweaking its managed to easily break 9700 gpu in timespy. been gaming a bit more often into grid legends, mindless fun racing around gets my mind off the stress.

 

firestrike is up also, im now a few hundred points in gpu score from top spot, rest is up to a draw and luck.

Yep, welcome to Germany the Social welfare State 😄🤣 Tooo much social crap, but the Pregnant policy is top notch i have to say. My wife was 2 years in parental leave and i was also 2 months off. You get 1 year Paid salary like 67% of normal wage, but other social stuff like  free Healthcare, rent  you get covered the whole parental leave 😁. Also if you have an unlimited  work contract the employer is obligated to take you back in the firm after the end of the parental leave. You can take up to 3 years of that 🙂

Yet, people that live in a giveaway government welfare society complain about having ludicrous taxes, LOL. Got to pay for the nanny somehow. Robinhood economics become a necessary evil to bankroll the dole. Personally, my preference is to pay less in taxes and decide how, when and where to spend my money and not be forced to involuntarily contribute to a public kitty slush fund to help those that don't help themselves, or pay the salaries of those "public servants" whose jobs exist for the sole purpose of administering those welfare programs. Too expensive and not a good value for those stuck with the responsibility of paying for the bulk of it. It also has the undesirable consequence of fostering a sense of entitlement among those that contribute least or contribute nothing.

Could also be YouTube... People complain about normal comments being auto deleted after a short time. And that you can't post links in the comment section is awful. The tech trend continue rolling. Yeah, unfortunately it is common for idiots and ignoramuses to have YouTube channels and appoint themselves as self-anointed influencers. The mainstream media and social media platforms in general are not reliable sources of information. Most that are not simply spreading wrong information because they are ignorant spread wrong information because they have an agenda.

Very sad if someone spread wrong info. Why would you post Gpu chips power draw info when you try measure the total board power? If they say 4090 never will reach 500W in bench/games, then they don't understand how it works. In Nvidia's specs they talk about board power (incl the fans and bling bling lights). haha, i wish! my wife took the first year parental leave after giving birth and receiving up to 67% or 1800€ (whichever is lower) of her regular salary for 12 months. if the father also takes parental leave, he gets an additional two months of the same (which is what i will get). in total, both parents are entitled to up to 3 years each without pay.

so yeah, in my case its basically 2 months pocket change plus 10 months unpaid leave. but thats alright, its awesome to be able and take the time to spend with the little one in those precious first years 🙂 and as bro @cylix mentioned, my job will be waiting for me when i get back, so cant be fired in the meantime.

 

as for taxes, yeah, those are crazily high here in Germany. funny enough though, its still cheaper than if we would have stayed in Singapore and paid everything there ourselves (after basically non-existent taxes there). plus, work/life balance is waaaaay better here, so we moved 🙂 no idea if were gonna stay here forever, but for now its the place to be 😄
