SuperMG3
@panda_zzzHello. Did you manage to get your RTX 4060 MXM to work on your Dell Precision M4800 and on your M17X R4? I found another manufacturer called PELADN. They make cheaper RTX 4060 and 4070 MXM cards.

I tried all video bios with reduced tdp for 4060, but apparently they need 4g decoding which is not available on these laptops. maybe on 7520 the card would work like that. Do you have any experiences on PELADN MXM GPUs? They also sell RTX Ampere for a cheaper price. If so, possible for you to dump the vBios and upload it? Yeah, and it seems that they are making some interesting stuff even outside of the MXM GPU market

I found one for 25€ lol. I got one on hand. It's detected on HWINFO but the bios won't take it. (Clevo X7200) Edited April 15 by SuperMG3

I think there is a difference here plus do not forget that clevo x7200 is built on a desktop chipset, which is not typical for ordinary laptops including m4800|m6800. I think I need an Eurocom BIOS to get the module recognised. On eBay I bought that Crucial DDR3L 1600MHz 2Rx8 module for 25€. Originally, they cost between 50-80€... For proof, it says on their Alibaba page that they have more than 20 years of experience and all of their MXM cards are out of stock uh Edited April 16 by SuperMG3

You can try, but 1x16gb modules will not work on normal 3-4 generation intel laptops due to hardware limitations of the platform.
Fra
Hi! If anyone needs it i am going to add an Aquacomputer quadro to my Dell M4800. What is it? It's a small fan controller, the smallest i could find. I'll try to desolder unnecessary components and fit it somewhere inside the laptop. Why? Because Linux have lots of problems with Dell's fans and i would like to control them more fluently. I'll grab the low voltage usb line from the expresscard slot and add to it an hopefully good step up converter to get 5v out of it. i'll use it for the data line of the controller. then i'll power it from the slim sata connector of the DVD. I bought a cheap caddy not to damage the connector on the motherboard itself. Hope everything will work and i'll be able to cool my laptop better and with less noise
