What phone are you daily driving currently?

I would go with either the surface duo 2 or the new Oppo Find N2.  Both are a much better form factor, and the Samsung screens are breaking alot.  I have worked at the bell store for almost a year, and had at least a dozen flips and about 5 folds come back with damaged and nonfunctioning screens.  The Oppo, and even more so the duo, do not have these issues with the screens.  

The second issue with the fold 4 is the cigar sized closed screen.  It's useless to do anything on.  The Oppo has a nice exterior screen, and the interior screen is still nice and large.  Just a better form factor overall.

Hey thanks for the feedback. Interesting i thought until the 4th gen. samsung had enough input to make better displays. 😁.

Yes i saw the oppo aswell looks cool but if i heard right nte new pixel foldable will be based on the oppo. Maybe i should wait and see wgat google brings.

Supposedly the new one+ is going to be based off the oppo as they are sister companies.  I would never purchase a one+ device because of their shady dealing with customer credit cards in the past without any remorse after getting caught two different times.  But, I am thinking the pixel "fold" will be similar as well.

im highly skeptical of folding phones tbh....modern devices are fragile enough as it is, the folding part makes them even more so. not a good thing for something that is supposedly being thrown around a lot and stuffed into bags n pants all over 😅

That's why I like the duo best. NO screen fold. It's slimmer than my iphone 13 when it it's folded. and it's the right size and way to do a folding device for productivity!

Yes, but they are not crappy hinges.  It's a work of industrial art.  Built to last. Like the hinge in the surface Pro.

Here is a picture of the duo folded vs iphone 11 pro max.  The Galaxy is as thick as the iphone unfolded. so two of them stacked.

After using an LG v30 I had gotten from @Mr. Fox I have stepped into the Pixel 7 Pro. Its a nice phone, a bit discouraging that it doesnt formally support USB C to HDMI/DP via Alt mode. Going to see if I have any luck on that front this week with some Dell Docks at work.

And i am currently testing various alternative OS for the Pixel. I already have some experience with LOS on my 3XL. But i don't like the permanently open bootloader on LOS.

I was just going to ask if you were running linux on your 3xl.  it's the only phone that runs 100 percent on linux.  Very neat.

haha aw man i miss the nexus phones! my last google phone was the nexus 5, after that Huawei and Xiaomi before coming back to the Pixel 7 Pro... only tiny gripe i have with it is its comparably "small" screen, would love a 7+ inch model! 😄

Last Pixel was nexus 4, what a nice phone that was, after didnt like any pixel anymore, designwise. The 7 pro i like a lot but still keeping my ultra 11. Hope to get back to pixel when they release a pixel fold 😀

Well I'll give a update on my phones now.

 

I have my SIM temporarily in a Xperia XZ running Android 8. The XZ1C still works, but currently has no ROM as I'm waiting for a new version of a ROM I'd like to use.

The S7 broke because of my neglect for the expanding battery. It got so bad that it broke the display. The SIM tray previously got stuck and destroyed itself so I might as well just get a different S7 or a different phone to replace it.

The Motorola Droid Razr M isn't my music device anymore, it was replaced with a iPod 5.5. It's quite modded, It has the shell, jack assembly, 30 pin spacer, frame, front, and click wheel from a black 6. The display was broken so I replaced it with a different one. Battery is a 2000mAh square one. The storage is a iFlash Solo with a 256GB SD card. The only original part from that 5.5 is the logic board.

The HTC Rezound is on a 4.4.4 ROM, I set it up and then proceeded to not use it, probably going into storage soon.

One of the best phones ever made is still going strong.  The Note 9. I love the design of that phone.  I wish I could get the roms loaded on the N/A versions.  But Samsung locked the qualcomm versions and only left the exnyos versions unlocked.
