Mine took three days to build and ship. It was in transit with UPS Ground for a week, traveling from Montreal, clearing customs, to Colorado.

Its odd that the QHD screens were backordered. Sager has had all of the BGA 12700H 15 inch models from Clevo in stock that use the same screen for a month now. Those BGA models also have a functional MUX switch too which is very frustrating.

This was an issue with the ship getting stuck in China for COVID. Something that was sadly out of Eurocom's hands. They did offer multiple times to give me the 1080p screen but I was in zero rush. I'm ready to ditch 1080p for 2K. Maybe the switch will be function here? I have no idea. I'm guessing that Eurocom have said it isn't enabled.

Looks it'll be here Friday. 👏

you know the drill:

- pictures (outside and innards)

- hardware specs / benchmark results

- impressions on the QHD screen (how far can you overclock it?)

- bios & vbios versions / wattages / temps

😛

hey man, thats likely due to their balanced settings in the control center, we found that different profiles set different wattage limits. weve seen peak at 140W with long term 90W but theres still some heat-related tuning to be had here, give us some more time 🙂

edit: ok they did actually set it to performance it seems, but there are still fairly aggresive temp and wattage limits set at stock that can be alleviated via throttlestop!

Even if it peaked to 140W and long term 90W this is well below Intel's specs for this Cpu. Aka fully crippled. And they have both capped TDP and Cpu temp target well below specs.

you know it, with any laptop / machine in general u cant leave things at stock, tuning is required to get the beast unleashed 😉 give us some more time on this, theres definitely more we can get out of it!

So got the laptop. Lookd great, took a few pictures of the interior when I installed my sticks and drives but when I go to install Windows 10 it's not detecting any drives. Little stumped as the drives show up in bios.

EDIT: Figured it out. For posterity just disable the Intel VMD Controller and it will read the drive. Felt like I was taking crazy pills there for a sec.

huh thats weird. but i remember that i actually disabled VMD right off the bat while diving into BIOS, following the rule of thumb: disable anything u dont need to lean the firmware 😛

VMD is a bane when trying to clean install new BGA laptops from Acer too. Their pre-installs come with it enabled but as soon as you nuke the drive it disappears except in the BIOS. You have to disable it there too.

So here is the bottom cover pulled off for my drive install. I went ahead a just left the stock pads and IC Diamond, I'll do a full repad and paste in 6 months once I see temps creep up a bit.

duuude thats a crazy loss of performance on auto fans, were talking like -33% 😅 also, you can squeeze out another ~15% multicore perf out of your 12600 with some throttlestop tweaking / repasting / repadding.

duuude thats a crazy loss of performance on auto fans, were talking like -33% 😅 also, you can squeeze out another ~15% multicore perf out of your 12600 with some throttlestop tweaking / repasting / repadding.

Mind kicking me your Throttlestop setings? I'm not super familiar with the program.
