@Mr. Fox I didn't match your settings one for one, but there you go. I think these sticks are better than the Corsair I have. -

I tried using the freeware version of Thaiphoon Burner but that doesn't give me any information on the RAM. I'll try those settings now. -

I was starting to regret my Z690 Dark purchase until I've installed the latest BIOS. Before, 51 on the older BIOS, would net me around 10269 pts in CB20 (much lower than my Asus Z690 Extreme, which was weird), but now it is posting above 11k with the same extra BIO settings. Temps are much lower too. Still working on the 6400 RAM kit from G.Skill. -

Indeed it is a shame. I have two of the CF525's and it appears that Lamptron took the form over function/power route on their latest fan controllers. -

I like his Avatar photo. We are both fans of the Dark Tower novel series. But that isn't me, lol. Thanks though bro -

These "toys" are what I am looking to get, hopefully within a year if everything goes according to plan. More capital. -

The 12900K is a hot chip. With my smaller MO-RA3 radiator, I am still hitting 100C straight away on certain cores. I am still dialing in the voltage for 51 P-cores/40 E-cores. -

Cablemod has cable combs or you can find some cheap ones on eBay. I got cable combs when I got my custom cables from Cablemod -

That's definitely above average right there, so that is indeed a very good chip. You should be able to hit 42 on the Ecores. I believe with a delid and the chiller on that chip, you should hit 12500cb -

Where did you guys get your 1700 cpu block kits from? I know I can pay a penny to EK for the mount but it will take awhile to get. I'm looking at the 1700 CPU blocks from EK -

eBay will be taking back the money back from you, the seller, if the buyer wins the case. While I highlighted the case where I was sent a chiller that likely did work before the seller sent it to me and I found a broke fuse inside, there are many many transactions that go smoothly. -

I was hoping to get my Dark by tomorrow but the snow storm we're getting here caused it to be delayed until Monday. I need a new mounting bracket. I've been spoiled with all of the Asus boards that support both mounting types. -

The EVGA Z690 Dark is incoming. I guess I should buy another 12900k and maybe, just may be I luck out with better. Edit: I'm going to sell the Asus Z690-A D4. No reason to keep it now. -

Bro, you are contributing. No need for verification. All of us were "DTR" overclockers (some still are) before we went back to desktop. https://www.3dmark.com/compare/fs/26785502/fs/26785331# My questionable laptop scores, don't judge me, lol. Keep learning and reaching, you are getting there. -

I got a notification for the Z690 Dark, literally a day later after getting into the queue. I am not sure if I'm lucky or EVGA overestimated the desire for this board. What to do? I have the Z690 Extreme and the Strix-A...and one CPU for them both. I don't need another Z690 board...but it is very tempting. I could sell the Extreme but then I lose that sexy 10G LAN (yes, it is worth it). -

Perhaps I've been lucky with my Asus D4 board. Honestly, and I knew that coming in, that board and my Z690 Extreme are overclocking the same. Obviously I got more testing to do but Asus did a good job with the D4 for plain o overclocking. -

I am fine with it but what I am trying to figure out is why my 12900K is short about 1100 points in CB20 against my 5950X. I got a lot to explore. The P-Cores are at 5.0 and the E-Cores are at 4.0. The 5950X was 4.650. Very interesting first runs. -
I figured I would create a place for people to talk pfSense firewall software and hardware appliances (made by Netgate or third-party). Whether you are completely new to hardware based firewalls or a seasoned veteran, post anything related. Do you deploy it for home, lab or business? What kind of appliance do you use? Prebuilt? Old PC? VM? What are your favorite packages?

My 12900K is still rated SP82 on the Z690 Extreme! Yay! At least Asus is consistent. -

Right off the bat, the X570 Dark booted with NO issues with my pair of Trident Z Royal 4800 DDR4 sticks on XMP. I literally never had these boot with XMP. Color me VERY impressed. I booted with an old Windows 10 install (Intel), so time for a fresh copy. -

After procrastinating for over a month, the showdown between the 12900K (with DDR5) vs 5950X will commence. To make things a bit more even in my eyes, the 12900K will have a 360 EKWB AIO whereas the 5950X will have a custom 360 loop. (If the cooling affects things negatively, I'll put the 12900K on a custom loop too). Two air cooled GPUs will be shared amongst them. First the 6900 XT and then a 3080 TI. This is not going to be scientific in any way but I'm going to try to keep things fair. My 5950X is a better quality sample vs the 12900K I have, but this should be an interesting battle. -

So I saw the full text of the seller's response to eBay and I now believe he wasn't going to send the label to me. He wrote that it worked (I am sure it did) before he shipped it and it was well packaged to be honest. However, the fuse was taped, which means he or someone attempted a repair on the unit. I may just ship it back on my own dime. He mentioned he's done with eBay and this transaction cost him more money than he made. He hasn't responded to my other message from two days ago, so I have a decision to make. Anyway, this concludes this saga. Thank you again for your advice. I'm going to stay off eBay again for awhile. -

So eBay has decided to refund me 100% of the transaction, so I guess your advice on eBay having a hands off approach unless the buyer has an issue and gets them involved is spot on. It was the same seller that tps3443 got his from and I actually feel bad for the guy. I am not trying to scam the guy out of money or the chiller. I wanted it to work out of the box as he noted in the description of the auction. I could fix the chiller easily but I am going to see if he still wants to send me a shipping label for this unit. I am a businessman first, so I know the feeling of being scammed all too well.
