  1. Both Half life games had big leaps in the experience, I cant remember all the small things that made to original special but one small detail was that you would hear radio chatter on a dead enemy, by today's standards that nothing but back then it was a cool detail that added to the feel of the game.
  2. The first game I remember playing was a text based game Stephen kings The Mist. That goes way back, then I remember a game called Wasteland, it made good use of my 16 color RGB monitor, lol. The first multiplayer game I played was Descent, I was a flight instructor ant a university and we installed it on the network machines, when it was raining we would chase each other in the little spaceships, big time fun! Here is a list of more modern favorites. Most memorable to me was Half life 2, the atmosphere that was created by the graphics engine and audio was a huge leap forward, and when G man appeared on the train t=the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. This also led to the Orange Box which was the best gaming purchase of my life. Battlefield, I love playing with a squad of friends and the series has had some issues over the years and the worst release ever with 2042, I still enjoy playing the game with my clan mates. TW3, best single player game I have played and I still have it installed. Subnautica, I have played a lot of this simple survival game, I play on hardcore mode and see how far I can get without dying. Icarus, I recently started playing this game which is quite a bit of fun, the Coop mode is great but my schedule is such that I usually play solo, it still needs work but the developers put out a patch every Friday and have been making big changes to improve it.
  3. I love The Witcher 3, I have done several full play thoughs and I'm enjoying it, I have played both Subanuticas several times and It's a fine was to pass time when playing online isn't an option. Asid form those every time I go back to play other games I'm usually disappointed with them and it's ruins the memory of the game.

    MSI GE77

I'm not sure if the 12800HX has a metal pad, I thought that was reserved for the 12900HX, I plan on running it for a week with everything stock then I if I decide to re paste then I will take your advise. Heck I may want to remove it just to see what's under the hood. Believe it or not I never re pasted my GT73, I kind of want to try it to see what it look like after 6 years.

Lol, currently I have to run my fans at max to keep the machine from throttling so it has set the noise bar. I really should re paste this thing. I use a set of Sure earbuds that block out a lot of sound which helps out.

    MSI GE77

I just ordered a GE 77 from GentechPC, I went with the 12800HX and the 3070Ti. I have had descent luck with my last two MSI machines which had second tier GPUs. I'll be sure to test it out and post the results. https://www.gentechpc.com/product-p/msi-raider-ge77hx-12ugs-004.htm

    MSI GT77

Looks like a nice machine, I wish it wasn't bigger then my GT73 otherwise I'd grab one. I'll be getting a GE77 of some sort.

  10. Welcome, I had a Toshiba, that was two laptops ago.
  11. I had 1 640 mb hdd that I had in my last 4 builds, it had my music collection and some photos, it started having issues so I bought a SSD and transferred the data. I’m all solid state now.
  12. Been playing BF 2042 with my clan and Icarus.
  13. This looks like the one I want to get to replace my GT73VR, I'm curious to see how it works.
  14. Interesting thread, I'm still running my GT73VR with the factory paste, I have had good luck with Kryonaut on my desktops, I don't do extreme overclocking though.
  15. Hello, I'm Duke I fly airplanes for a living which has had me using laptops for gaming way before there were gaming laptops, I was a member the NBR forums and I have found the people there very helpful in many aspects of tech and I'm happy to see many familiar names here.
