  1. Very true. I have been screwed too many times on the high dollar items on sites like ebay. The best defense imho is time. The more time people invest into their internet handles the less inclined they would be to burn those handles for a quick buck.
  2. Thats all well and good but shortly before NBR was closed down, a member was scammed out a few grand over a clevo laptop. Payment method was PP F&F. Its why that trust must be established between individuals, why as the administrator I cant easily condone it. I am not a fan of Paypal generally, since its typically used to scam me in private sales. It (and other services similar to it) have its place where appropriate.
  3. You can more or less look at it like PP F&F and not be off base. While as this forums administrator I cant easily condone its use, what people do in private transactions is their business as long as its legal.
  4. They change their rules over at OCN? DIdnt know Zelle was permitted. I had that model 3080, punchy card!
  5. Created thread for @ryan If I missed any posts that need to be moved, please PM me with the relevant links. Thanks
  6. Post removed @kojack Needlessly inflammatory posts that serve no purpose will be removed. If certain points of conversation are not as valued to you personally then there is no harm in simply stating as such. Insulting members of the community does not serve the discussion. Thanks for your continued understanding. @aldarxt If anyone would like to continue the discussion of mobile devices please feel free to do so.
  7. LG's biggest problem is lack of support for their own devices. You might get 1, 2 updates before they move on to something else. I used the V20 for years despite that since the model I had worked in Korea as well (Dual SIM) but ATT's device cutoff did not allow that SKU even if that model was supported. Even proved it worked fine when the sales guy put in his SIM card, it wasnt that they couldnt, just that they wouldnt. I really wanted the V60 but not supporting their own devices as well as exiting the market lead me away from it. I went without a phone for 5-6 months since it put a really bad taste in my mouth. To be fair, I've had issues on Apple devices but I usually split that between iOS and User Error vs Android where its usually hardware / Carrier problems in my experience. Last Apple device was crashing apps but that was quite some time ago.
  8. Congrats on your accomplishments and goals! I've been in a bad place mentally and have begun thinking its due to my work environment. In hindsight of course it is, in the moment it was easy to conclude that I dont measure up. I have been trying to hold out for the appropriate time but that is proving more difficult as time progresses.
  9. I was basically conned into the 7 Pro really, was not happy about it but fighting it would've been cost prohibitive mentally. Pixel 6 kept losing WiFi connection at home and on occasion would lose cellular requiring a reboot to get it back. Reaching out to Google support, they asked me to factory reset the phone which coming from an IT background annoys me. No diagnostic and straight to the nuclear option, probably shouldnt have expected any better. They were running a promo to get 600 off of the list price of a Pixel device and I did have an upgrade available so I figured why not try a different model. Instead they only gave me 120 and I have the same issues as before on the 7 Pro. For my home router I can now more or less resolve this with DHCP reservation (or Static IP) but on the go I still have to restart the device. No idea if that issue is Pixel or ATT, or some combination of both to lay blame. Not really a pixel problem, more of a cell phone sales problem which is its own can of worms, but I digress. I do wish Custom ROMs didnt more or less die off :( Im thinking i'll try Samsung next time around as I can make good use of DEX which Google explicitly disables on their devices (Not Dex, but USB Alt mode's) in favor of chromecast.
  10. Image replies are not allowed (posting just an image in response to a question) @kojack Posts merged and/or removed. @Etern4l No vendor is beyond reproach in terms of criticism, each have their own pro's and con's further to the point its also what makes discussing them interesting since each have their own selling points juxtaposed against the needs individual consumer is looking to satisfy.
  11. @ryan Make a dedicated thread for your build and continue that discussion there please.
  12. Send me a PM with a parts/price and even if I cant pick it up immediately, my coworker might be interested and while you'll still have it then I can snag it if the timing works out like it had last time.
  13. Looks like I might need to get ahead and try and offload some stuff to be ready for when it drops lol I mean a 10850K @ 5.0 will do some heavy work for a game server / Headless VM Remote Gaming host but a 13900K? In fact might put that up on the forum to pay homage to your own excellent price and pay it forward to the next lucky owner. How much RAM are you figuring to ship with this kit? Open bench so E-ATX is no factor
  14. Not the correct thread to be making that sort of request.
  15. Perhaps the additional charges didnt have strong enough evidence? no idea personally.
  16. Should work with what ever the chipset will permit, so it wouldnt surprise me if you saw some xeons out in the wild. Its just uncommon since thats not exactly what most people would intend to use them with.
  17. 14" mxm never seen it before. Plenty of 15.6" options though
  18. No worries, English is the main language here, you can have native tongues here as well but we ask for translation so that all the forum can engage in discussion :)
  19. P150em, p150sm, p157sm-a, p775tm, p750zm for a general ballpark range, those are the oem model numbers, resellers will have their own badge on them as well. Zbook 15 but will require modification M15x but uses first gen i7, collectors tend to want these, not as much for practicality. There are more but this is just off the top of my head. Good luck!
  20. Some of my coworkers asked me to play Grim Dawn recently, doesnt half bad.
  21. Is that the same fan the Der8auer released a video about? I like 2150rpm, seems to be a good compromise for my personal use case but I cant lie, been tempted with the 3000rpm for overclocking from time to time. Instead of metal fans I'd love to see a company take a shot at reverse blade high static pressure fans for system builders. Would probably be criticized for noise but considering I have about a dozen fans going in my room I dont really care all that much.
  22. If the P870DM is mpcie then thats usually resolved with an adapter. That being said I believe someone just installed WiFi7 into the P870 in the official thread
  23. I also like to know, or at least have some inclination of what I am talking about. A lot of people come to me at work or people I mingle with online know that I am a system builder and tinker more than I should. As such, I generally get a lot of inquiries about building PC's so i'll recommend some things based on some criteria. Due to that, I like what I have been hearing about ARC, but have no experience with it. Would love to be able to recommend it for some people without the caveat of second hand knowledge. Might be a while though :( Too many projects and not enough human I/O lol
