*Official Benchmark Thread* - Post it here or it didn't happen :D

I cant remember who it was that said this but effectively the idea put forth was that this generations ability to argue without putting the person you are arguing with in the "hate/enemy" category has effectively atrophied. The appears to be more true over time, at least as I continue to observe. Me and you have different viewpoints regarding our use of PC's, just like you may have some differences between yourself and @Papusan in terms of how your approach overclocking, and thats fine. It doesnt need to then become the basis for classifying someone as extreme or beyond recognition. Sometimes a difference is just that, different. It doesnt then automatically mean not worth consideration. I mean, probably here in the next few days ill be posting an update to my desktop scenario to which many at OCN would immediately question why I didnt do X,Y,Z instead of chuckling at making what I have work for me. I have already dubbed it "Doing It Wrong" by my friends if it works out. Basically I have an ITX system with a 1300w PSU and 16 port HBA adapter via NVME lol should be interesting getting the adapter tomorrow. Oh, Im ranting again. I'll stop here for now haha -

Yeah its the same "you're the niche so stop talking" kind of stuff I used to see all the time there. I may prefer my 5800X3D for my use case, but my use case doesnt involve looking for the best CPU benchmarks since I primarily just play games and remote to my VM sandbox's that run my homelab's (48 cores / 96 threads 256GB RAM). Doesnt mean I need to find the best motherboard or cooling since its not overclocking (just tuning for best performance it can run 24/7 ) nor would I tout it as such. The problem I used to see there (and to be fair, not only) is that on one hand they would say overclocking is a niche hobby that virtually nobody does but also in the other hand say overclock to get best FPS in your games. While not mutually exclusive, you probably shouldnt engage in the latter without first picking the appropriate hardware / cooling. Which means you should probably engage the supposed niche nobody does sector of the market. Lastly, I always appreciate your colorful use of language to convey your position regarding products, it makes my life much easier from a moderation standpoint. As I am sure there are a number of vernacular that may be preferred in such cases lol. They also have the "Professionalism Initiative" for the forum, but its selectively enforced. I can go on, but I'd be ranting for days since I surfed there for probably a good 10 years. -

I enjoyed my time there, but over time things just became less authentic. When they would openly clown on people using performance laptops it became more difficult to participate in that community. -
Looks like the market protested Sony's actions and was able to get them to overturn the mandate.

If I didnt have my AM4 platform thats probably the route I would be looking at as well.

Looks like the game is being review bombed due to Sony's forcing on PSN accounts being linked to Steam

Yep, its why I always respect those that have a passion for the subject matter. Especially on HEDT, especially in the X58 era. SandyBridge made it much easier to jump in but you also lost some of the granularity iirc. -
Bazzite: Fedora-based, gaming-focused Linux distro

Very interesting, going to try it in a VM here soon. Thanks for sharing! -
Source Just finished my first playthrough of the base game and DLC (which was included), about 105 hours total doing a healthy amount of side quests and such. Very much enjoyed the title personally and highly recommend it. The landscapes in this game are beautiful IMHO.

Precision M4800 + HP Quadro T2000 upgrade
Reciever replied to Trov's topic in Precision Mobile Workstation
Sounds like Windows is trying to install what it thinks it needs. I believe you can disable automatic driver installation and see how it behaves.- 34 replies

So, anyone here been playing? I've got around 150 hours in the game so far, been playing with a buddy of mine for a couple hours each day. Got to say loving the PVE and how self aware the game is.

Precision M6800 questions and upgrades
Reciever replied to Jers6410's topic in Precision Mobile Workstation
What is the general configuration of the M6800 including the sBIOS? LVDS or eDP panel? -
Those cards likely do not support eDP if I had to wager a guess. Some laptops will post but the card may not work, do you have a monitor to plug in? perhaps it might display something there.

This has been my experience as well but at about 950MB/s over TB3 and USB 3.2 Gen2 on a laptop from NVME to NVME. -

I dont understand why people are like that. I just try to remember that the amount of people like that are likely the same as its ever been, they just have the ability now to amplify their message. -

Moved my ITX system on to the ATX open air bench, tomorrow I plan to test out an NVME to PCIE adapter I purchased a little while back. I was able to formally attach it to the open bench. Its also nice to be back on the 1300w PSU and get rid of the 2 PSU solution I was using before. -
Not the one from xvision is it? I was also hoping to see some 3080's in the wild but nothing in my strike zone, I may have to sell some stuff to build another project PC as I'd like to get a 7900 XTX but dont want to give up my EVGA 3090 lol priorities

Well its worth investigating to determine if it was a faulty unit (which is also a concern) or faulty process. Doesnt seem like they are going to invest more time into it though.
