I intend to do a few more writeup's for things I have come across. Its probably not good PR for the Admin to admit this but I am likely the least experienced with this software before creating this soft landing for our group. Little things here and there :)

No 'Apple' section in Notebook Manufacturers subforum?
Reciever replied to serpro69's topic in Site Suggestions
As Aaron44126 had cited (to which I happy to see the notification for such action works, minor victory there) we had a sub-forum for Apple and a few others but we had 0 activity in those sub-forums and so we had removed their slots. That doesnt mean that said content isnt welcomed, but as a fledgling forum with 0 advertising to speak of, we cant have completely dead sub-forums either. If an Apple thread has semi-regular participation we can definitely entertain creating a sub-forum for Apple. -
It looks like you may have figured it out or got a tip from another member. Essentially you select the "remove formatting" option above the text box after having pasted your content. At very least this is how I have been resolving that little issue.

At some point, I would like to purchase my own home and I would love to re-purpose the heat dump from my PC's towards the home, an obvious one would be heating the house but maybe during the summer use it to supplement water heating. We already pay for the energy, might as well make it stretch. Though to be perfectly honest, Im a cheapskate for the things I dont want to have to pay for, so that I can splurge where I want to. Most people are like that (I believe) but I may take it a degree further is all. For example, I have been wanting to buy the Leopold FC980M for a few years now, but its 120 USD. I've also been keen on the Code v3 keyboard and the Pok3r for work due to their macro functions they retail I think for 185 and 150 respectively. I purchased neither until I came across them on ebay for 40 and 36 USD respectively. Which reminds me, I have been debating opening a thread for mechanical keyboards. I am sure plenty of people here use them even if the main focus for the forum is for laptops :) Yeah something similar to that :) Regardless of if radiators are essentially housed elsewhere to avoid that heat dump, the components themselves, I would imagine, are still generating some heat that isnt captured by the water. This would make airflow to the components just the extra edge for additional cooling. Of course this is all in my head and have no empirical data to back it up. Though again, way too rich for my pocket book -

So then, the heat dump does have some affect on the system? I assume it would be minimal but I know you guys sweat the details for benching (for reasons most implicitly understand, I think). -

Much to the irritation of enthusiasts the world over, what sells is what is cheap. 1060 is good enough for those popular esport titles for the most part, if they get the exposure through that vein then (assuming they have the ability to), can release higher performance parts for higher returns. Assuming they can get their drivers in order of course. Price will dictate its adoption, especially these days where GPU's are aplenty. -
This will be a simple guide meant more for new comers to the forum in how to change your Theme. This guide will assume your starting position as the default main page as displayed here. Simply scroll to the bottom of the page (or any page) that you are currently viewing. Direct your attention to the option highlighted below. Once this option is selected, the menu will appear with the current options available to the Forum. As you can see, my current option is "Dark - Bravo 6". We have a default option that everyone has seen thus far, but my preference is Dark themes for pretty much anything I do on my PC. Also to add on to @jaybee83 had recently discovered with formatting. If you copy/paste your signature from another source, the forum software will attempt to retain it in totality. Including the background coloring. In short, if you paste content from another source you may still have a black or white background to your text. In order to remove this, you must select this option highlighted below. This should fix any static formatting issues when changing up your signature, or posts in general. We hope to bring more themes in the future, and if possible an NBR theme to pay homage to where we came from as well as maybe a Dark version of that as well. Any questions or critics please feel free to direct them my way and I will facilitate as best as I can. Thanks Everyone! Chris

I was always of the opinion that I would want to water cool in a separate case to then bring the tubing into the primary case where the system is housed to keep the heat dump from the systems themselves. Though testing a scenario is way outside of my pocket books ability to facilitate lol Its been maybe 10 years since I had last watercooled anything :| -
Good Evening everyone, This will be a simple guide aimed primarily at new users, considering where and what forum software we came from, this forum is quite different under the hood. The goal for this guide is to show you how to change your signature. As well, please follow forum guidelines for signature size, we do allow for some flexibility of which I will also show one of our better examples. Anyways, lets begin! After having logged into the forum, direct your attention to the top right of your screen where you can see notifications (The exclamation mark is for Mods and Admins). Mouse over your Handle (The name you use within our forums), you'll notice a small arrow next to it, this is to signal to you that there is a drop down menu housed within. Once this menu is open, you will see some options, for the purposes of this guide all we need is to select "Account Settings" as displayed below. Once you have made it to your Account Settings, you will see probably a majority of items of interest regarding the Forums mechanics that are available to you, for the purposes of this guide, please direct your attention to the left pane. And there you have it! You made it to the Signature option under your Account Options. Please observe Forum Rules for the signature, while the old NBR rules still apply here. IIRC this should be limited to 8 lines. We do have some flexibility regarding this but do keep in mind that if it falls outside the scope of what is permitted, we will ask you to revise it. If this is ignored we may have to take more abrasive action. This is a signature from @Maxware79 that has not been hidden via spoiler tag. When the forum was initially created it was a bit unruly. After reaching out, this was the end result. I applaud Maxware79 for being amenable and revising the signature to fit the forums desire but also finding that balance to still display the prized systems. If you copy/paste your signature or post from another source, the forum software will attempt to retain it in totality. Including the background coloring. In short, if you paste content from another source you may still have a black or white background to your text. In order to remove this, you must select this option highlighted below. This will allow for your posts to match the respective themes we have on the forum. Any questions and critique please forward to me and I will address them as best I can Thanks everyone! Chris

Im happy to find more and more people making their way to this forum over time :) -
Same -__-, sometimes feels like it will always be that way but ironically, I despise a lacking of purpose as well sooo, striking a balance is I guess the real goal.
-
For example, see my above post, as I was able to edit in @jaybee83's content into the post above. @Aaron44126 not sure if you already knew about this or not, but I know you appreciate functional awareness.
-
I added some clarification into the title and the post, the means to this solution is via multi-quote / quote however the main topic being displayed is how to edit in additional quotes into your last post after having submitted the post proper. Essentially, You submit a post and saw that someone may have replied right before you finished your post and you wish to comment on or address without double-posting, for someone reason the standard means of copy/paste didnt seem to jive well in the forum software (at all). Instead Invision community opted for a CTRL + X combination instead of CTRL + C. If this is something I can change I will attempt to do so its just been a crazy busy season this year.

Yes this is accurate, and an issue that I plan to look into. Took tuesday/Wednesday off next week to finally take a serious look at what I can do to mitigate or eliminate this issue (and others) altogether as editing in a quote response after the post is made is basically unfeasible for the standard user at present. That being said I can do it via moderator tools by merging posts so there has got to be means to facilitate that without elevating perms. That's why I try to strike a balance on that front for now. -

@tps3443 Please avoid double/triple posting, use the edit function to add additional content. I try to keep it lax in here but posting again after merging the last double post is a bit much lol -
Takin a stab here but it may be Company of Heroes RTS game

I chuckled a little when I got the Latitude 5430's in recently. IIRC 2 P-cores and 8 E cores, 12 threads For some reason I read it as dual core quad threaded in my head. I went for more coffee after that. -

Well I have to hand it to evga, solid product from whomever they chose as their supplier. I think I figured out what was wrong. My server 1200w psu was not initialized so no power was being fed to the GPU's I hooked up, which is why it shorted. Like an idiot I tried to power it on again after the warning and that's when it gave up the ghost. What I'm really happy about though as compared to maybe 10 years ago, is it didn't take anything with it on its way out, or at least nothing I have tested so far. I replaced it with an evga 1300 g2, I was going to get the p2 but I read some issues of coil whine and the g2 could get here by today so it kind of just worked out that way. Also @Mr. Fox, thanks to your suggestion of the frame I don't think I can go back to standard cases anymore. -

Im sorry to hear that Brother @Mr. Fox. Its one of those scenarios wherein, they have your money and would rather end ties there than promoting a healthy relationship with you or really anyone that doesnt have a large audience to enforce societal expectations. I understand there view, just like anyone of us here, its just unfortunate that all parties also understand that its a crappy position to enforce. It looks like I shorted the PSU many of you recommended under the budget I had set some time back :( Time to get something new so I can figure out if the rest of the PC is good still. 1300w hopefully in by tomorrow or Saturday -

Yes exactly, I always had a bit of mixed feelings when it came to the scenario of RMA / Replacements from corporations. Its easy to hate on Companies because of the low hanging fruit (and often not learning from mistakes made) to which a lot of people feel justified in lying in order to get support, but on the other hand when you sell a product and also provide the means to void the warranty, while also not covering it, especially when it was covered for years. I get why people would, but most of us here also can tell the difference between having to game the system as opposed to someone seeking replacement for something obvious like induced physical
