I was not happy to see Intel basically pull a 180 on their warranties for CPU overclocking. Its a function they "provide" but also use as a scape goat for not covering the component. Circular zero sum logic at its finest. -

I heavily debated the msi f5 but couldn't agree to that keyboard. -

For now I see this as a novelty product but I do like that they have responded to criticism and are making attempts to rectify. These days companies tend to engage in the scenario of death of a thousand cuts or hope you just forget about a less than stellar showing in a number of scenarios. Looking forward to what they bring to the table. -

Well I previously used to run 350w on my 5700xt daily so I figured I would keep it to similar levels. This is just my gaming/general PC so I dont need anything over the top for its use case. I mean I also used to run 190w 1080 and 100w CPU on a 330w watt. Now if I decided to start seeking benchmarks then I would need to pull out the 1200w server PSU with a breakout board to not push the 550w well past its limits lol -
MSI GT75/73 with AMD RX 5700 advice for Heat Sink
Reciever replied to Rengsey R. H. Jr.'s topic in Components & Upgrades
Ohhhh very interested to see how this pans out! My GTX 1080 is on its way out, mostly due to my taking things too far lol. Very interested to see how this comes about. For the VRAM, you could like get away with some mosfet heatsinks just to get it up and running for testing, but copper isnt cheap most of the time. Maybe aluminum would be cheaper? -

I spent some time on my desktop this evening. Swapped out the 3080 for the 3090 since I wont be mining as much on the 3090 (not very efficient) Also dialed in some tuning for the AM4 desktop. I was surprised to be able to get a stable 3800Mhz out of the DDR4 ram considering this sBIOS is (I believe) still on release version, at the very least I have never updated it. 09/04/2019 F5 version for my Aorus Pro WiFi (ITX). Was hoping to get 4000Mhz but I would likely need to update my sBIOS for that to happen? So far was able to get 4.3Ghz on the CPU, not sure if this chip has 4.4Ghz in it or not, maybe I will keep testing tomorrow. While I am sure many here wouldnt approve, I have tuned my 3090 for what ever I can get out of 1V, seems to like 2050Mhz on the core and +1250 on the memory. Reason being I am running all this on a 550w SFF PSU. Its a good unit, and its been letting me push the CPU while not complaining about the (initial) 400w from the GPU lol -
1 USB device to control minimum 32 machines?
Reciever replied to Reciever's topic in Desktop Hardware
Interesting, I might look more into that for home use. I will also need to look into Linux for its Gadget Mode, perhaps as a long term solution might be in that aspect, not sure yet. For now it looks like the only "ready-made" solution would be the USB Synchronizers that I had linked above. The issue with them is they are not designed for use in a production environment, some of them had already started to break down physically. I will likely need to resolder them coming up here soon. -
I love this, thanks for sharing. Its got me thinking of what kind of layout and cooling I would go with. I didnt even know the teensy was a thing. I may look into that for work purposes

With the news of students with ITT Technical Institute going under and the now loan forgiveness, to which I am also of their number, while digging up some documents I came across a short essay on laptops and cooling. In reality, I just wanted to use my laptop "modification" as an essay because I lack motivation otherwise. I chuckled at myself as half my citations come from NBR, circa 2012 -
Later tonight, I will attempt to recreate locally on my system so I can better articulate it to my partner

Very much reminds me of when SandyBridge first dropped, all the X58 elites were pissed that OCing was too simple and easy. I mean I appreciate overcoming a learning curve as much as the next guy/gal but that perspective didnt make much sense to me at the time. -

Can you provide a screenshot either here or via PM? I would like to see to what you are describing, thanks!

Good Evening everyone, I have personally verified that this individual has had an account with NBR from 2007, as such as I have with a select number of members that I can verify, have permitted for @nudge to create this listing. Thank You, @nudge for observing the Marketplace rules and reaching out and I do appreciate the time to dig for your receipts to prove your tenure with NBR. GLWS!

Of course, they just werent good options though, that all being said I had a budget to work with so I prioritized stretching that dollar and efficiency. Those with blank checks wouldnt care as much. It was an odd discovery that of all the cards I had, the reference AMD 5700xt was hands down the best card bar none, memory temps were way down compared to anything else from AMD and Nvidia. I was honestly befuddled since traditionally AMD's heatsinks dont have a good reputation. -

I would think there would be less likely for people to actively pursue a 6900xt for mining. Though I guess that's only if your of rational mind, I actively pursued 5700xt's because I figured people would be offloading them for the new cards and I had already done some tweaking on them before so I was more comfortable with the idea. Not to mention their efficiency was and is stiller better for mining compared to the new tech. That all being said I'm currently using an rtx 3080 for my pc. Still rocking my 2700x @ 4.0ghz. Probably pick up the x3d after the new chips come out, would love to see how this ram I have from @Mr. Fox behaves with it. Still on stock bios and I think I have it at 3600 or 3800 can't remember lol -
Sounds like you are referring to LTSC

I still remember the a10 + 7970m travesty when I was looking for a used but gpu competent system maybe 8 years ago or so? That system probably sealed amd's date on the mobile side of things. That all being said if the only thing we care about is the actual king of performance that more or less tends to sit in Nvidia's camp but that used to mean I could get close enough for cheaper with amd. -
I expect it to do what I need it to do. I can even use it to order buttered toast delivered to my door at specific or non specific one time our routine deliveries to my home. :)
