I've got 4 fans running in my P750FM now 😄 Though yours will be much more travel friendly @Mr. Fox Yeah, some of those indies are pretty awesome but the only titles on my mind are Horizon: Forbidden West and God of War: Ragnarok oh! there is also the game that is made by the group that made Dead Space but that will be a while yet. -

Prime day feels like Steam sales now, nothing scratches that itch. -
I have a perfectly working and clean Dell latitude 5400 I would like to put up for trade. Here are the specs: 14" 1080p touch i5-8365u 16GB DDR4 256GB SSD Windows 10 Pro AC WiFi 65w AC adapter Looking for P150SM-A/P157SM-A. I have an i7 4980hq I want to put to the test. Im favoring chassis integrity and/or repairability over top end specs but I wouldnt shun decent specs either. Wanting to see if I can best my old Alienware 17 Ranger scores and give a last hoo-rah to DDR3 era laptops.

That I wouldn't know lol, definitely not an industry I would want to participate in

I haven't been mining in the last few months, when I do though it's only in my bedroom which is sealed off and made into a negative pressure room. It's not an airtight seal of course but I'm not directing any air into the room. At my previous location air conditioning running and mining I was at about 440 per month, this new location with no mining it's averaging 600. It appears that the AC is running 20 hours a day which is the principle issue. I tore down the mining stuff to clean it up and will be getting it going after I get some supplies, namely a few shelves, my power is free overnight so that's when I tend to mine.

For many young people in Japan especially in the inner city you must take full efficiency of the tiny space you carved out for yourself in your studio/loft. Even not having a private kitchen and bathroom would be common in those settings.

Yeah I am also not keen on buying a bug for my house. While I am a nobody that no one cares about, I've heard about the breaches of privacy that have happened already. Even iPhone support has been known to breach that as well. They brag about firing them afterwards but that doesnt resolve the initial breach. For now I have picked up a couple of KASA smart plugs since in one of the top reviews the guy noted that it can be controlled "locally" without need of cloud support or even manufacturer support. This will be my gateway drug into automation I am sure

Hadn't seen this option yet, thanks for sharing! I'm fairly certain it's just poor insulation and inefficient air conditioning. It's using 3x the power of my mining rig (10x GPU's) and still can't keep the house below 70F. My room is typically 80-85F these days
-
I've been on and off looking at automation but mostly for monitoring power usage. Since my power bill has hit 600 this month I am again interested in revisiting this topic. Just curious to others' experience in this domain 🙂

I remember when I was young I used to think that new models should come with better features or in general be overall a better product than the previous year. These days we have measure just how much crap you have to walk through from PR events, Reviews and finally getting the product and figuring out yourself just how much of it is false. I struggle to maintain a positive outlook, and that bothers me. -

Good Afternoon everyone! First off, congrats to all of us as we now have over 500 members on the forum! This is all due to word of mouth as many of you have had profiles on other forums and shared links to this forum. For that, I thank you all for sharing how NBR members could find NotebookTalk and chat it up with familiar faces. I would like to also announce my intent to give a bit of standardization for the official threads, in particular the official threads that are directly related to specific model laptop(s). I will make another announcement in the future when that is settled. Lastly I have accepted and made changes to a request made by @1610ftw to allow for the OEM Uniwill to have its own sub-forum, which is also better known as TongFang. This can be found in the list of Notebook Manufacturer sub-forum. Also since the beginning of NBT, there has been no activity within the Gigabyte/Aorus as well as Apple sub-forums. As a result I have deprecated them for the time being. Of course any content related to such subjects are still welcomed! If content being generating for such brands we will be happy to re-make those subforums

If anyone is in contact with them, encourage them to reach out if they so wish to find a new home. We may be able to facilitate!

From a distributed computing standpoint that scenario is interesting lol -

I like Energy Efficiency but mostly because I like keeping my money. Though that just means said product is more expensive more often than not, been looking at Window AC units LG OLD units are almost a hundred or more cheaper, where the dual inverter types are more expensive. First world problems I suppose -

USB 3 and NVME support are typically the huge asks that people look to have spliced in. Thanks for sharing

Saw some thumbnails lately talking about aib's wanting 40xx delayed due to excessive stock of the 30xx. Any credibility to that claim or just click bait? -

I'm hoping eol cards will become cheaper again -
Well for me it's while sleeping in the room. While it's not forced air level of dB and pitch it's still uhh noteworthy lol

Yeah I think I'm going to move my desk against the wall, list the gpu stack on top of the desk and bring in my bedside chest to extend my usable area from wall to wall, this way I can I have my window fans pulling heat straight outside without conflicting with my projector One thing I cant get around is I will need another couple pieces of wood to provide more surface area as well as create another duct for my server psu's
