I still have one from the p750fm, but alas the p157sm-a uses a different style. The guy got back to me he just realized he forgot it so I asked him to send it Monday. No rush for this system -

I have purchased 1 4980hq but tested in multiple laptops. Im not quite sure if it works anymore as the last time I removed it the M6800 refused to let it go and I bent some pins. I was able to straighten them out but one pin is unable to stand on its own but isnt quite broken yet. There was another user that bought the 4980hq or 4870hq but it failed to post. I installed it into the Ranger where it didnt post, later injected Crystalwell microcode but no dice. The seller seems to have not shipped the AC adapter for the P157SM-A so just pinged them about it a moment ago. -

Yes, it's currently purring at 5Ghz, I should be able to hit 5.2Ghz after I do some homework on the platform. -

Oh the 690's will be here tomorrow, a pleasant surprise. Still no word on the eah4890's yet. Really want to run it back and see if amd improved things and/or if I was a bumbling idiot or probably both lol. -

The last graphic is what truly seemed baffling to me. Though with my family and its orbit around Auto dealerships it makes 0 sense to accept losses at all for your luxury product. Though admittedly my understanding of the GPU business is nil. So perhaps you guys can correct me if this metaphor is flat wrong. Typically for Automotive, the Camry sells itself, what you want is people buying Suburban's. The CEO of EVGA seems to be of an older mentality. So while he's miffed at Nvidia for pursuing profits over partnerships I can see how that doesnt automatically mean he's running towards AMD or Intel. Overall however, especially in these trying times (and speculatively looking worse) people should be hoping that they can recover that relationship and/or find another vendor to be partner to, not because EVGA needs them but because we do. EVGA is one of the few corporate entities that has the best warranties and generally from my limited perspective has a positive relationship with their customers. -

Honestly I think this will also hit Nvidia quite a bit. I didnt like any other vendor and to be honest they were the primary factor to me, nvidia being secondary when I looked at their products. Its been a while now that we have known Nvidia has been a terrible partner to all, you can only run that way for so long before people arent willing to deal with it anymore. In other news, I picked up 2x GTX 690's for 60/each to pair with the accelero coolers, only gone as far as tri-sli in the past so this will be a first for Quad-SLI, luckily due to mining I have 4x 1200w PSU's plus the 1300w EVGA PSU. Its going to be a fun Winter combing through 2010-2012 GPU's on @Mr. Fox's old 10850K platform. Probably closer to how he would like for me to use it anyways eh? -

Going to watch this as soon as I can, they've been solo Nvidia for quite some time. -

Hey have you guys ever thought to try faster memory mods on older GPU's for benchmarking? I know that Khenglish had attempted something similar when he transplanted the 980 DT die to the 980m but I can't recall if that exercise was fruitful. I sae some on YouTube claim to double the vram, personally more interested in faster ram aspect, for now just as a interesting thought experiment. With my pursuit of qmk keyboard capability it seems all roads are leading to a soldering iron :D Anyways got my toys today, sadly the eah4890's don't have tracking or have been delivered Ill be able to test if the 4980hq posts in the p157sm-a, hopefully Prema's magic will grant me a little breathing room in that regard. -
I am not well versed in reddit, but I believe they use the upvote/downvote system with an up arrow or down arrow.

@Rengsey R. H. Jr. Have you made any progress with this project? Very curious how it turns out. Either pursuing this or the recently uncovered RX 6600 MXM card for my P157SM-A (new to me) -

Good Evening everyone, So having just made a few purchases for the purposes of nostalgia and humble submissions at HWBOT for Team @PremaMod, I had attempted to look around a bit for those odd or uncommon GPU's that we may have wanted but for w/e reason never pulled that trigger. I'd like to make a list of them and perhaps make a short article for the forum based on that :) Anyhow, feel free to list anything you thought or know to be uncommon, Unique GPU's! To start things off: Sapphire 4850X2 EVGA GTX 460 2WIN EVGA GTX 560Ti 2WIN KFA2 GTX 460 Wireless HD Galax Single slot GTX 470 Asus Ares I/II/III (5870x2/7970x2/390X x2) GTX 295 Dual PCB 9800GX2 Dual PCB While common "at the time" the Dual PCB design of the GTX 295 and 9800GX2 are over time becoming less and less common. Galax GTX 1070 Katana (Single slot) Gigabyte WaterForce 3x 980 SLI Asus Mars I/II/III (295x2/GTX 580x2/GTX 680x2) ATi HD 5950 PowerColor Devil13 390x2 @Mr. Fox @Papusan @electrosoft @Clamibot @Rage Set @Hiew

Yeah considering that they were teasing it for years, with the success of Witcher 3 I think it skipped hype train and went straight to the moon. My expectations were tempered for various reasons so I enjoyed the game quite a bit overall. Dead Space was one of my favorite series, though I dropped it at 3. 1/2 I think I have around 160 hours or more between both.

Nice find, I sometimes regret not picking up @Mr. Fox's P870 but as well I was already working on my Ranger iirc at the time. -

I figure if I start this HWBOT journey old enough it wont hurt my wallet as much lol, plus there is the added benefit of nostalgia as most of that hardware was prominent when I first really entered in the performance realm of things. Only thing that sucks is that I just got plex set up on the 10850K and well, its gonna have to go to another system. Maybe I will use my 5820x precision for it, actually a pretty good idea now that I think about it. Only issue is powering all the drives. 10850K is at 5Ghz but I believe its capable of 5.2Ghz iirc, should be fun to see how it will pair with the older hardware. -

My trigger finger seems to be prepping for Winter. Thanks to @Tenoroon for sharing the link to the posting on fleabay, picked up a pre-modded P157SM-A with PremaMod for 250, hoping my 4980HQ will play nice with it, if so then I will likely spend more time looking into how to source one of those MXM RX 6600's, will pair nicely with that system I think. A nice send off for DDR3 era. Also purchased: 2x GTX 690 Arctic Accelero Coolers since I found a listing for 28 each. Will likely just be patient with acquiring 690's themselves but the aftermarket coolers are typically hard to find. GTX 295 for 45 USD HD 4870X2 for 41 USD 2x EAH4890's for 38 USD If memory serves me correctly I may be able to use the 4890's with the 4870X2 for Quad-Fire. If not I am sure I can find another by Winter for a decent price. Now to finally get my hands on Hiew's Arctic Accelero Xtreme IV for single GPU benching. Will probably get another GTX 295 if I find another for a good price, but I also want to find some 9800 GX2's. -
