I have done some searching and can't even find out what they are called properly. Update on screen: So the parcel arrived early and with in 30 minutes and one broken adhesive tab later the new screen is in. Brightness control works as does the 165hz the only thing I lost was G-Sync it would seem as the ending of the panel I got was NY6 and not NY2 it is what it is. So it will do for now till I can get hold of a NY2 version or BIOS is updated to include NY6 for G-Sync. Update 2: might be sending panel back, all games have a flickering issue as well as all textures have a glossy texture to them not sure what's causing that issue. Uninstalled the GPU driver too issue is still present.

So far i on Current laptop the X170KM-G, I have upgraded the RAM from 4GB 2133M/Ts to 32GB 4x8GB 2133M/Ts then to 32GB 2x16GB 2933M/Ts. I have also upgraded the SSD Heastink too, Repasted the GPU/CPU as well as new Thermal Pads. Tomorrow hopefully i will be Upgrading the 17.3" 144hz 1080p screen to 17.3" 165hz 1440p. Then all thats left is the i5 11400 to be upgraded to an 17 11700KF then the build is completed.

Agree with @Jarhead. as much as i like Linksys WRT's there is no way they can route 1Gbps connections let along 600Mbps ones. Now to the puzzling bit, how the ef is this screen held in surely it not just by them little rubber bumpers and using presure to keep the screen in place. I did notice some Battery pull tab like things at the bottom corners of the screen but hot dam i am confused. The service manual only covers removing the bezzle and the CCD (Camera module).

Gear 2 Bios is the only bios for 4 slot usage. Not issues here with either XMG's bios or PCS's bios.

I suggest the best way to mod your inf files is to use a tool NVCLEANINSTALL not only does it allow you to download drivers directly for modding but it also allows you to add Device ID's and then signs the driver after meaning no more requiring to disable Driver enforcement. At the same time it allows you to remove the bloat of the Nvidia drivers too.

If this is the 1440p screen I will be getting one soon.tm myself so I would be able to compare 1080p 144hz to 1440p 165hz.

Only the X170SM has a prema mod available to it. As for build/fit issue, the only issue is the back panel can have a issue where a little foam stopper falls out and then the clip it holds just keeps popping but superglue will fix that issue or its a non issue when it screwed back in to the chassis. As for any other DTR they have released an X270 Turdbook but i think the X170 is the last of its kind. The 780w PSU will be the same as the 2x 280w PSU connection is like but with only one PSU and two cable ends. There is a positive lock on the DC and doesn't fall out easy enough.

With how much power USB-C can supply now (240w) they are really only not far away from the 280w needed for an X170 to be ran, the fact that USB-C PD would be a great standard to use as it will be Universal i can get behind, however @Clamibot with how Laptops are going now Socketed CPU & GPU's looks to be going the way of the dodo with no return. Which is a shame.

Seems strange for MSI they normal spit them out like candy.

Best suggestion is to give it a bath in isopropyl before attempting it as that glue to nasty! Make sure you take pads off before hand though.

So after some kind help from a user on Discord, i have now got my WD SN750 with a heatsink keeping it now well cool, where was getting 62-69c, i now get 55c tops. On top of that i removed the black covering from the Tripple M.2 slots and the glue (Why Clevo WHY!), which has reduced them temps froms 59c to 47c.

You could alway use task schedular. But i will give it a test in a bit. It might be how Clevo setup the software to stop someone using a RAT from controlling the laptop in terms of accessing CCC due to the Overclocking section. Update: Just tested it did the same to me as well. However i could simply run the Control center application and it works after that. So use task schedular to open the application on login should do the trick.
