  1. Yep, AMD did an Intel (their 11900K frankenstein failure on 14++++++++++++++) as a nice ending on the platform. Disgusting!
  2. Maybe ok for a few games. But can you take gold in benchmarks with this locked down chips? For me... It offer no value. I'm not a gamer 🙂 And if I was a gamer I would want more from the chips. Why pay more than sub $200 if all you want is gaming? Why Niche Marketing is a Great Strategy for Hardware .. https://hwbot.org/submission/4973526_papusan_3dmark05_geforce_gtx_760_(256bit)_85266_marks?recalculate=true https://hwbot.org/submission/4973498_papusan_3dmark06_geforce_gtx_760_(256bit)_60157_marks?recalculate=true
  3. They already struggle with the cheaper new v-cache chips from AMD (being the gaming king). 15-20% IPC increase for 13th gen paired with more baby cores doesn't make any sense if they want to try stay on top in gaming vs next gen Ryzen. Intel is their own enemy if we talk about competition to deliver ultimate performance in games and applications. The Raptor lake will be a huge failure if the rumors about coming chips is correct. This means yet another year before they can compete. Can they afford this? Once again be stern sailed as they have been the last years? Maybe they don't care and instead will put all their power into jokebooks where the profits is. I'm sure they don't want to lose the battle with AMD for notebooks.
  4. Not sure what you have of parts. But let the Cpu get less priority (not important here). Use what you have and think more on the GPU part. Even a air coller help. Try fix you Port Roiale score. Or whatever GPU bench. Cpu isn't important in there.
  5. Because Nvidia have squeezed out every drop from it's arch the last few gens. And RMA cost money. Loads of money. Be happy they didn't cripple it further as they do for the Jokebook graphics. This is the choice between plague and cholera. 6. Unclewebb have released a new TS Beta version. TechPowerUp ThrottleStop 9.4.6 Beta Released Techpowerup.com TechPowerUp today released latest version of ThrottleStop by Kevin Glynn. A nifty tool that gives you greater control over the power-management features of your processor, which should prove particularly useful for notebooks, letting you override several OEM power limitations to bring out the best in your hardware. Version 9.4.6 beta introduces several updates and bug fixes. The "Disable and Lock Power Limits" box is now replaced with the MMIO Lock box. The FIVR and TPL window themes have been updated. The Turbo Boost limits and Turbo groups have been combined into the FIVR window. CPU voltage is slightly increased at 800 MHz for stability when undervolting. Compatibility of SpeedStep and SpeedShift with Windows has been increased. The chance for BSODs with voltages set too low, have been reduced. Grab ThrottleStop from the link below. 7. Microsoft goes their own ways. Why should they bother with a few peoples needs? Here's the Easter egg for 2022 from Redmond.
  8. Here's Microsoft's new Easter egg for the Windows 11 users in 2022. M$ software engineers hate flexibility in their latest and greatest OS. One fits all. And you all should go for a M$ Surfacebook or an tablet to get most of their new touch friendly desktop tablet OS. Look at this beauty bro @Ashtrix @Mr. Fox EDITORIAL Microsoft's argument for not allowing us to move the Windows 11 Taskbar makes no sense neowin.com | Today In a recent Ask Me Anything (AMA), Microsoft revealed that it does not plan to make the Taskbar movable because of engineering difficulties and lack of public demand. However, that makes no sense. Tablets and tuchscreen functionality in windows 11 is priority nr 1, 2 and 3. Windows 11 saw the taskbar being completely rebuilt using XAML. At the moment, the company is focused on bringing minor features to it, including a better overflow experience for icons or system tray optimizations for tablets or touchscreen PCs running the latest OS. https://hothardware.com/news/microsoft-says-missing-windows-11-taskbar-features-arent-returning Coming over to the problem.... The rebuilt Taskbar is reportedly a relic from the now-defunct Windows 10X, an OS that was being designed for dual-screen devices where design simplification was needed. Simply porting it over to Windows 11 meant that people on regular devices lost a lot of functionality in the process. In other words, there was no massive demand to redesign the Taskbar for existing, "traditional" Windows devices. Microsoft essentially broke what was already working fine for everyone. Apple and Google will get more and real competition in the tablet/phone OS world going forwards. People want thin and slim HW so Microsoft has to deliver.... If you want to waste your time.....
  9. Red dot.... Green dot... Blue dot...... matters. Yep, and you get Design awards for it as well. People look at reviews😜 Fancy RGB sells in loads nowadays. G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB and Ripjaws S5 Series DDR5 Memory Receive Red Dot Design Award 2022
  10. 165 W vs. 105 W GeForce RTX 3080 Ti: It matters most at higher resolutions notebookcheck.com It's worth noting that the GS77 would consistently produce faster frame rates in most lower resolution scenarios before eventually falling behind the Blade 17 when the resolutions were set higher. This can be attributed to the Core i7-12700H in the MSI running faster than the Core i7-12800H in the Razer despite the Core i7-12800H being the faster processor on paper. As shown by our reviews of each system, the GS77 is able to maintain higher TDP levels for its CPU when compared to the "faster" CPU in the Razer which runs at lower clock rates and temperatures. Yep, you can provide better thermal headroom/less crippling of the Cpu if you put in castrated Graphics cards. Test pilot: MSI GS77 Stealth 12UHS - sharp gaming computer that raises questions sweclockers.com Design over functionality... Temperature and sound level At this point, we have already noted that the computer is very limited in its design, especially when it comes to power budget and to some extent also the development of heat. It is now time for us to take a closer look at the slightly more subjective experience with heat and sound level. The short answer regarding the sound level leaves a lot to be desired, at least under heavier loads. The computer becomes very loud with the fans pulled at a time and it is not just about the measurable sound level itself, but also the character of the sound that the fans give off. It's a classic hissing sound that can be expected from thin blade fans, the kind of sound that at least cuts through open headphones. The subjective heat development is totally catastrophic in my opinion. Even after two to five minutes of use in a slightly more demanding scenario, then the computer becomes so hot that it feels unusable without externally connected devices. The keyboard becomes uncomfortably hot to rest your hands on and eventually a runny hand sweat occurs. Upon closer inspection, it turns out that both heat and power budget is a huge problem for the MSI GS77 Stealth 12UHS. The graphics card constantly beats the 80-watt power ceiling, and sometimes the thermal ceiling at the same time. This causes the graphics card to clock itself down to an alarmingly low 585 MHz. When we reach the performance tests for processor and graphics, however, the fun ends. All the performance figures presented have a hard time meeting the expectation instilled by components such as the Intel Core i9-12900H and Nvidia Geforce RTX 3080 Ti. Playing in the built-in 4K UHD resolution is almost out of the question, as we see minimum levels below the 30 FPS limit far too often. A similar behavior can be seen in the synthetic tests, where the own laptop with an RTX 3070 beats the RTX 3080 Ti that is in MSI's machine. In conclusion, I do not really understand the purpose of this product at all. The MSI GS77 Stealth 12UHS I tested is sold at the time of writing for SEK 50,000 and comes with top-class hardware. In practice, the computer performs worse than other machines sold for less than half the price. Personally, I do not feel that surrounding things like slim design, sound or the built-in screen panel justify the high price tag. Once again... The OEMs offer what people think they want.... A real Apple copy cat for Windows OS. And it will be worse. Because Intel, Amd and Nvidia will corporate with the OEMs also for next gen slim and thin laptop design. We will see improved software/firmware and drivers for Cpu/Gpu tuning so the HW won't boil to death in next gen laptops. And this won't benefit the laptop users. Only themself. RMA costs money. Same also for tech support.
  11. One of the problem with the 5800X3D chips is the increased costs (Amd employeees have already told us that these chips is more expensive than the regular Ryzen chips). I don't think that the OEMs out there is very keen pay up more than needed for chips. And AMD equipped laptops is meant to be the cheaper options from the OEMs. So this chips doesn't fit into this. Dead end on this wish before it started :) We will see more nasty ways to throttle (cripple) hardware forwards. This is the only way to offset the thinner chassis design that is doomed to come. None of the OEMs want to put in weaker aka cheaper chips. Profits before everything. This is the main reason we see unlocked and more expensive HK chips from Intel in laptops that can't or struggle hard to cool the Cpu's.
  12. Closer and closer to the big boys. 4th place. I'm sure Win 7 or even Win 8.1 will do wonders for further improvements 🙂 https://hwbot.org/submission/4969474_papusan_3dmark05_geforce_gtx_760_(256bit)_80903_marks Intel failed release "Worlds fastest" gaming CPU. 14. They... The retail shop/repair partners or MSI's own repair facility? Regardless... This sucks.
  15. Peddie thinks inflated prices will likely plummet when retailers and scalpers have excess inventory that they can't move, and we agree with the analyst. The issue is that what Peddie suggests won't happen soon, so we must exercise enormous patience to avoid temptation. I think it will come sooner than later. Now its up to Nvidia and AMD push out enough cards. But will they? It probably depends on how near we are launch of next gen cards. GPU Prices Will Eventually Plummet, Analyst Says According to Peddie, graphics card suppliers aren't the ones benefitting from the price surge. Instead, the retailers (Amazon, Newegg, Best Buy, etc.) and scalpers are the parties reaping the handsome profits. Meanwhile, shops like Best Buy got more creative and put Nvidia's Ampere graphics cards behind a $200 paywall. Unfortunately, the measure backfired and ended up helping scalpers, not gamers, get graphics cards.
  16. People mostly prefer plug and play (no tweaking). And most people don't buy the most expensive gear (neither if its the DDR4 or DDR5). And its well know that DDR5 ain't much better in games... So, a new click bite. But I still enjoy his videos. DDR5 is what DDR4 was. It will maiture with age. The main problem is the MB manufacturers. They have to offer premium at premium price. Hence they don't want pair DDR4 with the upper class motherboards. People simply don't connetc DDR4 as premium products going forwards. They all think that the newest has to be better. Add in older DDR4 doesn't match what they expect or think what they want for newest gears. Edit. Happy to see you here bro @jc_denton🙂

  20. I have put together the old with the i7-3770K again. Stole some fans from that build for the new so I had to see what I could find in the drawer/closets. A nice thick fat 38/40mm baby from around 2008 (Sunon KDE1212PMS3-6A). Also re-used the weaker fans from the Artic 420 AIO. The older parts is made the old fashion way for longeivity so it went right into the old machine🙂 Yep, if you looking arround home, a lot old stuff will always pop up if you have the habit save on old stuff. Got it up and running again The cabling ain't important on this old machine. Just popped in some old parts and here we go🙃And there is no window in this chassis so.......
  21. Finally something for me in the gaming world. I'm not a gamer but enjoyed the Max Payne saga. One of the few games I played in the older days. I really hope this will become a reality. 23. When will Windows 11 stop screwing up the little things? pcworld.com | April 6, 2022 Microsoft seems oblivious to the importance of efficiency. At this point, using Windows 11 feels like signing up for death by a thousand paper cuts. I like to get through my to-do list without added headache. I have no reason to leave Windows 10, which works extremely well. Our official Windows 11 six-month report card reached a similar conclusion. In fact, I feel sorry for new PC owners saddled with what feels like a half-baked operating system. Couldn't say it better myself. See bolded text above. Even if you tweak the OS for your likings, its still a half-baked OS! Isn't that correct bro @Ashtrix @Mr. Fox? And it seem they they follow same paths forwards. Facepalm: Microsoft's Huge Incoming Windows 11 Security Upgrade Requires A Clean Install Do you remember when Microsoft said Windows 10 is "...the last Windows?" We sure do. It is obvious now that the Redmond software giant has walked back on that claim, as it has since released Windows 11. And apparently, for Windows 11, yet another OS installation could be in your future.
  24. The ASUS ROG Strix LC RTX 3090 Ti run sub 50C and still become beaten in OC by the 15 C hotter running air cooled MSI card.
