It seems Arrow Lake Mobile won't be any better than the new released and flopped Core Ultra desktop chips. Better power efficiency who is Intel's main goal and target. Oh'well, that's as expected, but people get something brand new so maybe they are still happy with what they get. Intel Core Ultra 9 285H makes Geekbench debut with 16-core CPU and severe throttling While the performance will undoubtedly be better at launch, the Core Ultra 9 285H doesn't seem like that much of an improvement over Meteor Lake. Hopefully, it compensated by an increase in power efficiency, something that has been on Intel's crosshairs since Lunar Lake launched earlier this year. Intel has a laptop problem: its Core Ultra 9 285H is half as fast as the PC 285K Intel keeps its promise of bringing a new generation of processors every year, offering a series of CPU models that should improve on the previous ones. Sometimes the improvement is minimal and not even worth it if it costs more,... -

That one cost close to 1/3 of an Core Ultra 9 285K and perform about equal in games. On top.... Intel pay more for TSMC silicon and it is still worse than the cheapest you get from AMD. Hmmm. Nothing can save Arrow lake from an utter flop. In short... Intel have nothing for gaming outside their old soon EOL in-house made Raptor lake chips. Even these are shorter in the tooths now. No point in buying a brand new or the old Intel platform for tomorrow's gaming. So Intel offer nothing for the gamers. Only loads of power efficient Baby cores and castrated P-cores (no HT). But the new tile mess from Intel isn't bad in everything for gaming...🥴 Intel Core Ultra 9 285K internal graphics can play Battlefield 2 at an average of 120+ FPS at 1080p medium and low quality. Here's more from today's tech trend.... I've tested Asus' new Turbo Game Mode for AMD CPUs and my verdict is simple: Don't use it -

Exactly the way I saw it from day one. Checked the numbers and reviews the next two days and it looked more and more awful. Lower performance in games vs its predecessor was just the icing on the cake. Not that I play much games but an upgrade should be better than two years old chips it is meant to replace. The chips just doesn't cut it. Worse for +80% of benchmarks that counts. Oh'well, will see how long it takes before Intel jump out with an (8 core) 3D v-cashe chips for gamers. Or if Intel will put all the eggs into the coming power efficient non K chips over the New year for average pc users/office machines. Because less and less gamers (and performance enthusiast) will go with the unlocked K sku of Core Ultra. -

What you have ended up with is only benching Cinebench and mem tests as Aida64. Not useful for etc 3D benching. Not sure about other 2D benches, but I mean Core Ultra aka Arrow lake also offer low value there as well. But for productivity that's another matter. Or if you want functional NVMe 5 drive without castrating the GPU. For me... Offer Zero value. -

Hmmm. Not only Pat working hard. So do Intel as the whole. -
The greedy bastards.... But I won't pay to play with the better and older OS. Microsoft can't force me to use Win 11. And they won't get a dime from me for using Win 10. Losers! Want to keep getting Windows 10 updates? It'll cost you $30 Microsoft confirms that consumers can remain on Windows 10 past the October 2025 end-of-support expiration date with an extra $30 fee

Sad seeing Microsoft put all resources on the wrong spot. They should rather try fix own mess. The update meant to rescue Windows 11 24H2 fails to install, crashes Patch KB5044384 was supposed to solve numerous problems in Windows 11 24H2, but it's becoming a source of errors itself.

LOOL. Intel have created a monster chips😁 The whole value of this gen chips is the baby cores, HaHa Intel going backwards into the future. They are going the Jokebook route for desktops. All is about power efficiency and AI forwards.... Why not just solder the Cpu package on the desktop motherboards as they do with laptops? The only difference bethween Jokebook chips and those for desktops is the better unlocked firmware you get in desktop motherboards. Intel don't even have to remove overclocking features for chips used in Jokebooks. Just let their board partners lock everything in bios. A signing key is god's saviour. Can't be easier than this. -

I was ready to click the purchase button (Z890 Apex and the 9 285K). But as usual I check everywhere and everything before I buy. All warning lights flashed red in every review. Almost as I was blinded. Nope. Not for me this time. Intel screwed up. Their own faulth that They don't want my hard earned money. -

Intel needed a win. And that become Cinebench. But forgot the main target for Core Ultra... The gamers. The non K versions for office etc will come out early next year. They really created a disaster with this new core design. Can't be because of the goal was reducing Cpu temps for the P-cores. Because Intel increased Max Operating Temperature to 105 °C for this gen chips. Intel Core Ultra 9 285K performs better in games with fewer active cores: almost 8% improvement in Cyberpunk 2077 Since the presentation of Arrow Lake-S as an architecture and after knowing many of its ins and outs, later after the reviews, we speculated that the RingBus and access to the IMC from the Tile SoC were a determining problem in the... And it seems Intel go all in for Chiplet design forwards... This is the best way to cut costs. Because they don't know how the Cpu arcitecture has to be. And all the delays (as in the old days) push Intel to make unfinished processors. https://elchapuzasinformatico.com/2024/10/intel-panther-lake-imc-compute-tile-nova-lake-en-soc/ Then we have Microsoft that only care about ARM for their new and next gen Jokebooks. I have already said this before in older posts... They try fix power plan settings to make their own trash to perform correct for power savings/power efficiency. And forget power settings for Intel and AMD x86 chips. Same with new Windows versions/updates? Here's some food for thoughts. Or just the normal Microsoft continue screw up? There's something that smells bad. Honestly, in several years of benches, tests and releases, this is the first time we've seen processor launches so disrupted. This is also why we decided to postpone our " gaming " tests on Arrow Lake. We're not pro-Intel, but there are far too many inconsistencies in the results we have. What's really going on between Microsoft and the other PC players? Right now, we don't know: but objectively, something is wrong. Microsoft clearly has a hidden agenda from my point of view. Within this agenda, the arrival of a "home" ARM chip is undoubtedly a step. The hype on Qualcomm , but also some disruptions on the market in recent months are to be put into perspective with all this. Is Microsoft trying to hamper AMD and INTEL in PCs? -

Why the harsh complaints? Why so salty bro? Intel offer well above their promisses and expectations. Better performance and better power efficiency. Why ask for more. See for yourself... The performance uplift is quite substantial. Wccftech say it's an huge uplift over previous gen🤩 This looks like the ultimate chips for the gamers. Improved graphics performance baked into the Cpu is a big win for any gamer. And if people want better cpu's for office, web and browsing use... Why not wait for the Non K chips? They will even run more power efficient. You win even more. Intel’s Core Ultra 200S “Arrow Lake” iGPU With Just 4 Xe Cores Provides Huge Uplift Over Previous Gen, Up To GTX 1050 Ti Gaming Performance Me..... And as you can see... Intel continue improve the performance for Arrow lake. For nowadays gamers. Intel's new GPU driver brings Core Ultra 200S and Call of Duty Black Ops 6 support -

See bolded text in my post above. See also how the new and shiny perform etc in 3DM Time Spy cpu test. Disgusting? Almost no-one have posted results from Core Ultra 9 285K on hwbot. Then ask yourself... Why is that. I mean I can't see a single 3D benchmark the new and shiny tiled mess from TSMC and Intel can come close to 13th and 14th gen Intel chips. See also how Intel destroyed own flagship chips.... Castrated P-cores. Imagine how good Raptor Lake Refresh 2 would have been with same improved baby cores as the the new and shiny. -

Something need to be fixed fast when you see something like this below... But how long will it take and will they be able to fix it within an reasonable time? And can everything be fixe or will this be Intel's Zen 1 moment and the fix will come with next gen chips? For Intel's sake, I hope it will be sooner rather than later. Because if not.... Their sales will be bad. Very bad. The gaming results may, similarly, be an issue of optimization. It’s not every day we see a CPU up to 23% faster than the competition in one game and up to 21% slower in another. We expect to see some variation, but that’s quite swingy. https://www.pcmag.com/reviews/intel-core-ultra-9-285k -

24 P-cores that oc 2 bin. Hmm, that is even worse than baby cores that can manage 4-8 bin overlock. The choice between pest and cholera. Nothing in between, LOOL @tps3443your new home looks wonderful. The garden or garage if you haven't will be next. And you will never be finished with what you want or need. Thats life 🙂 -

Hehe. Was not meant as this... The babies perform well, but the P-cores and no HT is just sad. I would accept E-cores more if Intel had done a better job with the P-cores, continued offer HT and fixed the latency problems. I went back to the fence and rather wait for improvements. It may or may not come for Arrow Lake. We'll see when Intel finally open their eyes and see the sales going down the drain. I have instead spent some money on new tools for the house. I bought an Black&Decker table saw (half price) and a diving gun. I'm not keen buy new expensive tech that probably performs worse than what I already have for my hobby. Yup, you'll get better Cinebench and mem bench results with the Core Ultra 9 285K, but this two benchmarks is just a couple of many. Both for 2D and 3D. If it perform worse in over half of the benchmarks... So why bother? Have already spent close to $20.000 USD this fall on different needed upgrades on Papusan's plaza before this winter. And we need new plissé curtains for the new windows and the gliding terrace doors. And in Norway that won't come for cheap. $500 for every single window plissé curtain and double up for the gliding doors. So I need to be sure I spend the money well for tech. Buy tech that won't be an good upgrade for me is bad spent money. Edit. It feels almost as Intel don't want sell their brand new processors and rather hope they can continue produce and sell Raptor Lake to make up better profits. Remember the TSMC Tile mess cost them more than produce yesterdays tech as Raptor Lake/Refresh in-house. They needed something new due the press hunting but prefer sell old and well proven. -

LOOL. Core Ultra 9 285K aka Arrow lake feels more like an mobil part. Spot on😆 From 16:29 Starfield, uses as many cores as possible, even 12 or even 24 if necessary. No wonder you see such results. I'm sure the new faster babies help boost the performance for this game. Again saved by the babies, LOOL
