There is a major difference between latest Intel vs AM5 chipset. With Intel you can't have it both. It's either full PCIe 5.0 support for GPU or capped. So no point have a dedicated gen 5 M.2 ssd slot for etc gen 5 ssd's. Can't see Asus have made much wrong here with their OC board. More stupid.... Thanks to Nvidia. And yep... Asus out with great ideas Asus Flaunts GeForce RTX 4060 Ti with M.2 Slots for SSDs Like many other midrange GPUs these days, Nvidia's AD106 graphics processor only has eight PCIe 4.0 lanes since 15.754 GB/s raw bandwidth provided by eight PCIe lanes is enough for modern GPUs, and eight extra PCIe lanes take too much precious die space NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 PCI-Express Scaling Useless. All you should care about is the random read write 4k. The high sequential bragging numbers.... How often to you need server functionality on a consumer pc? And do people really need the fancy and modern CM angled adapters? Why not just buy a big enough PC box? Hmmmmm You even get an nice short video of the burning disaster . 2 July 2023 Posted 1 hour ago Melted adapter and soldered to the GPU connector -

Yep, I mean old fashion legacy mode where you can chose if you etc want go into Win safe mode or do other tasks. Use same F8 key command on a OC board is damn stupid. They could have changed this for many years ago if they wanted. Can't be that difficult. But they have followed same stupid trend as Microsoft's stupid software engineers. You need do CMD tweaks to have the chance to go into Win leagacy boot menu after coold bot. Microsoft want that you use their crazy new modern way to access it. I hate it when so called smart engineers make useless changes. Yep, Microsoft treat their desktop OS as a smartphone OS nowadays (maybe the kids demand it or want it, I don't know). And worse it will be. Be you sure! https://winbuzzer.com/2020/06/16/how-to-disable-or-enable-f8-safe-mode-legacy-advanced-boot-options-in-windows-1-xcxwbt/ -

I know, but what if you want go into secure mode from cold boot? And Asus cater to oc’ers who try many tweaks. Stupid is the normal. Or maybe I have missed? Punch F8 and you get the Asus way. Why in hell use F8 for firmware options? Why not another key combo? I opened up the baby HOF. Bad paste job. Not sure if this is from the previous owner or Galax. Temps is quite good but the job is bad -

How do you come into old fashion Win secure mode with F8 when the stupids at Asus use that command for their MB firmare? -

So you won't be happy with a rand0m refurbished 4090 with a 90 day warrenty(if you are lucky and Asus feel for it)? Yep, you get a refurbished card but your orginal Asus warranty is lost forever. Aka you are doomed to use the CM adaper forever. But here's the other side of the coin.... Will CableMod offer help when you run into other problems (no smoke and fire) as etc a dead ADA chips or dead mem chips? Or even a failed power delivery. What with blackscreens that isn't from their adapters? Do You Feel Lucky if you go the angled CM route? Maybe this can answer it 🙂 Posted 8 hours ago My ASUS 4090 port melted and I feel cornered. And what if he sell his 4090 for another card? The new owner if his Asus card won't get any warranty. Thats the other side of the coin with the adapter. Here home we have 5 years warranty and the new owner get the same rights. Nice. I hate being screwed. And I always do my due diligence -

Bro @Mr. Fox. Maybe you want 3090 ti HOF OC Lab Limited Edition? Yep not the newest cards from current gen but come with a nice Asus Strix OC 4090 price tag. The elite or chosen one want some cash back after the promotion and points. Remember this is the Limited Edition Card where only 100 were made. This one is number 4. so close to nr 1. Maybe youfinally have the chance to feel how the elite have it. Nice to have the chance to feel being privileged. Only $2185USD. Hope you don't need to pay for the shipping. and you ebven get a nice suitcase. You may have to pay for everything. Maybe send the bill to your employer 🙂 One thing for sure.... If you are the elite or the chosen one. You don't pay a dime. Smell on it... Only for yooo. I feel I have a better chance in a normal ordinary lottery. Good news for the leather-jacket man. People just love their new overpriced scam. 4060 is in reality a 4050 card. But one stupid is one too much. He should rather stay in the bed. Again, only one person shows up to buy GeForce RTX 4060 series GPU at launch in Japan This is disgusting! You like it disgusting bro @ryan? Or is this just a bad joke from Jensen? Bro @Mr. Foxyou are not the only one that don't like AMD graphics cards. Now we are 3😆 Edit. Disable Hpet in the tools box in the Gpupi software. Should reboot automatically afterwards. And don’t use the legacy version with newer HW. The scores will be lower😉 -

A couple of test results from the GTX 970. It seems I need another vbios. I need to see what to get. What I have I think is too new. But okish results. Around 1600 on the cores. https://hwbot.org/submission/5302942_papusan_gpupi_v3.3___1b_geforce_gtx_970_22sec_52ms?recalculate=true https://hwbot.org/submission/5302939_papusan_gpupi___1b_geforce_gtx_970_28sec_308ms?recalculate=true -

If you click the boost feature button on the I/O backplate, that will disable any OCP/OVP and enable max fans without the need for software. How can this be so difficult to do for other graphics cards flagship? You get it even with the much cheaper x/x70 series cards. Here below you can see the difference between the old button design and the one for the newer cards. Now you get green light when you have enabled it. I would be happy whatever design if that was implemented for all brands cards. Very nice that Galax continue with such features and don't follow the new modern trend (removing everything that cost them slightly more money). Removed some dust. Very easy to do properly with an eletrical dust cleaner. A must have. Yep, dual PSU is worth its weight in gold 🙂 -

Gpu tweak is a good software from Asus. The only software that can let you adjust voltage on a few older AMD and Nvidia graphics cards. And for most brands cards. Totally opposite vs many other OC tools. Msi Afteburner and Evga software can’t do this. Neither the other brands crap graphics OC tools. So you was spot on. But how long was Adam in paradise? Maybe they kill that software as well. Nothing will last fantastic forever. Everything shall be dumbed down. All in one package that will be riddled with bugs that will never be fixed. -

Yep. MSI should go back to the old days and start with Lightning cards. And they shouldn't cost much more than their Suprim X models. Aka much cheaper option than Asus and Galax. There is nothing special with the PCB and the power components on Asus Strix OC cards. They are pretty vanilla as other flagship cards. Not even close to the HOF cards. But if you can get a HOF they shouldn't be much more expensive than the Strix OC. And you get more for around same amount money. Asus couldn't even add two 12VHPWR connector on their new Matrix 4090 flagship. Neither managed a nice feature as force max fans/power limit with a physical button on the GPU I/O shield. Just more bling, better bin and the fancy AIO with improved software/monitoring IC for (Telemetry). Almost as a jazzed up Strix OC but for more $$$$$. They all will still have the same problems. The bin quality is a lottery. And will be. Not what you really pay for. You pay the extra for the bling factor, name and somewhat better cooling. And a couple extra power phases you really don't need. I accept pay 300$ extra for a high end card. But it has to be the best of the best. Nothing more or nothing less. Best bin, best, cooling and best PCB. -

More to come here bro @electrosoft And yep, try the crocs🙂 But do your daughter like black shoes? I'm quite sure they feel better on the feets in that nice color😆 Say hello to Papusan's new little baby... Galax GTX 970 HOF. This GTX 970 card use exactly same PCB, cooling and power delivery as the bigger bro GTX 980 HOF. The only difference is the GPU cores. Aka very overbuilt even for a 980. So I really like what I so far have seen from this 970. The card looks as in mint condition and the seller (young lady) used it for grafisk design. Here the big brother with the little cute sister. 2847g vs 1280g. If I have put on the crown on the 4090 HOF it would be close to 3000 gram. Or 2.34 times the weight of the 970 HOF. But the smaller Galax card is still very heavy for its class. -

Yep, that's also an viable option. But you have to pay 417.35 United States Dollar for the cheapest card here in the used market. But at least you get the Strix card that don't burn up, HaHa. The GPU market have been difficult the last few years. And from what I see it looks even worse now if you think about buying new cards. 4090 is the only choice as I see it. And I'm not keen on any Radeon card, so.... Maybe a damn cheap 1080Ti would still be fun card in 1080P 🙂 4060 = Overpriced for what you get. This is a 4050 tier card 4060Ti the same tragedy. 4070 is still all too expensive. Same for 4070Ti. 4080 is DOA card and way too expensive. Then the 4090. Have good value due the minimum price hike over previous gen and the huge performance uplift. So minimal point go for the 4000 series cards. Only the 4090 have some value. Then the higher end of the 3000 series cards. They are still all too expensive. Remember they are already + 2 years old. And I don't like AMD cards. Not much to go with if I look after the list, LOOL I think I went the right direction with the 4090 HOF and same time continue with my older sub 120$ cards. There is nothing in between for me. And limited options for those that want true 1080P and 1440P gaming for normal amount of money. But there is still some Stupids out there that can't see there is better options. So expect nvidia will still sell their 4050 at +300$ -

Look at this.... Asus 4060 ROG Strix OC = 537.65 United States Dollar here home. Yep with the nice 25% Norwegian tax😬 And the cheapest of the 4060s is 427.30 United States Dollar and not so much better. Garbage is bad. But what can we say about overpriced Garbage? Double Garbage? You can get a 3070 for 324.90 United States Dollar in the used market here. And you get up to 4 years free warranty if the card was bought last year. I compared the 2 years old 3070 vs 4060 results from Techspot.com https://www.techspot.com/review/2701-nvidia-geforce-rtx-4060/ Why pay up to 65% more for the 4060 Strix OC over a used 3070? The 6800XT in the used market is still all too expensive. Same for the 6800. So thats not an option. Why does the new 4060 even need to exist? I really hope Nvidia will be screwed on this one. -

Whats wrong with Hothardware's tech editor? How is this even possible? A decent value? @Mr. Fox @electrosoftWhy is some tech editors so damn blind? And what you think the Gamers/consumers/average Joe will do after reading the review from their favorite tech site? Many will jump on this overpriced 4060 4050 as sweet candy. This is the closest you can come a paid shill. GeForce RTX 4060 Review Summary & Conclusion MSRP for new GeForce RTX 4060 cards starts at $299, which is about $30 lower than the RTX 3060's launch price and $50 below the RTX 2060's. It's also about $30 more than the recently-launched Radeon RX 7600. At its expected price point, the GeForce RTX 4060 represents a decent value, especially in light of its all-around NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Review: Affordable Cutting-Edge Gaming
